Hi Everyone just found this article on how do they calculate the CM ratings
The Chaska Meter at India-Forums is a new method of ranking television serials. For the India-Forums members, it is a way to voice their opinion on the entertainment they watch on a daily basis. For the television Industry, the Chaska Meter provides a means to hear the voices of viewers from not only India but also all across the globe. On a weekly basis, at India-Forums members rate the week's story line of a particular show on a 0-4 scale (4 being the highest). Another 0-4 points are added to the serial's rating according to the number of 'hits' or views its updates receive, which factors in the popularity of the show. The last category adds another 0-2 points to the rating, which solely depends on the comments the show is receiving from the members - are they satisfied with the story line? Is it keeping them interested? How is the acting of the artists in the show?
In the end all the numbers from the three categories are added up on a scale of 1-10 and each show receives a ranking on this Chaska Meter, which basically revolves around how receptive the audience is to the weekly story line. Entertainment needs to keep the viewer's interest and thus is there enough 'chaska' in a show to keep the television buff hooked on? The answer can be found in the week's Chaska Meter rating. Each week the story line of a show changes and thus each week the ratings too change.
