I have read so many people complain about Meera, and I totally understand their point of view.

We all need Abi with a real woman not a girl-child.

Yes, she is a girl-child. She can't even really commit to anything in life, she also had not focus I life and always comes up with a crappy solution to problem. (It is hard to play a girl as irresponsible and stupid as Meera and still be liked...so kudos for the actress because I freaking love her)

This is who Meera is suppose to be. Her character is designed not be be the solutions to Abi's problems...but to make him realize his worth. Now, we all are just acting a putting our demands on the girl just like the whole family is doing. We all want a perfect dulhania for our wonderful Bhaiya...the show actually promised us the opposite from the very beginning.

Meera and Adi are suppose to be very different from each other. One is very responsible and the other is not. Meera has all the support to get good education but is not interested. Adi on the other is very smart and wants a finish his school, but doesn't have the support. while Abi is very practical, Meera lives in a dream world.

The only thing both have in common is good heart, and I believe that is mostly what they both need. They need each other. She needs to learn responsibilities, while he needs to learn to live and stand up for himself.

I really love both characters and the actors are doing a great job.

@bold: I have would have to disagree with this point. No one here is imposing some expectations of the "perfect dulhaniya" on Meera. Quite the opposite in fact. I'm not sure if you were here in the beginning days of the forum where most ppl instantly liked Meera and were quite appreciative of her.

The only point that has been made in recent days is that there hasn't been any growth in Meera's character...that doesn't mean she is expected to become responsible or focussed overnight...it means there has to be more depicted to her character than random childish plans...she doesn't need to be the solution to all of Abhi's problems, but there can surely be more to her character than near one-dimensional musing.

The problem isn't that she needs to solve all of Abhi's problems...the problem is that she needs to connect more directly with Abhi as an individual and so far the show doesn't seem to have a full handle on that in the randomness that happens every few epis without that much cohesiveness...

The show is essentially a bit inconsistent right now...some episodes are so emotionally impactful with great dialogues and then some epis are totally filled with random half-baked antics of Meera and the Pant clan...like yesterday Meera's grand plan included stealing Stephanie's bag😕 over and over again...this bit was dragged through most of the epi. I would like to see Meera's character fleshed out better.
