You it could be that Krish himself opened the case in the pretense that it's an old open case which never got solved.

I think Ram and Krish are related!

It could be recently their bio mother died and before dieing told Krish about ram( her elder son), that's why now Krish is back and trying to get back in Ram's life through this case.

Once when Ram was recovering from his nosebleed and Pri mentioned his dad in a very positive way, still he got so unreasonably & out of proportion angry with P. And never apologised for it later, not even in a mental monologue.
Again, hours after having a health scare he wanted to go a walking to the temple, just because his dad would hv wished it.

Those were an indication of things to come. Ram is emotional, reactive & unreasonable when it comes to his dad.
