Well I think both ram and priya have abandonment issues but they just dealt with it differently. As ram said in one of the episodes earlier every girl looks up to their father and learn about men through them.

See abandonment issues have different signs in people

Ram shows signs like:

1)always wanting to please others (being a “people pleaser”)

2)giving too much in relationships

3)codependency

4) need for continual reassurance that others love them and will stay with them

5)persisting with unhealthy relationships( like with vedika)

Whereas priya shows sign like:

1)inability to trust others easily

2)pushing others away to avoid rejection

3)feeling insecure in partnerships and friendships( she keeping thinking that why would anyone pay special attention to her because she has nothing special to offer others)

Priya's issues are not as severe, strong and clear as Ram's because she had an actual family to provide love who doesn't manipulate her but she has issues related to her father, because like any other child she did loved Mahendra at some point and he broke her heart.

It's my opinion everyone is entitled to their own thoughts with a fictional character but to me I have always seen both of them dealing with their own psychological issues with different approach. And that's what make them more special to me.

Always felt Ram is touch deficit especially that of a gentle loving feminine touch..

The way he was lost when Priya put balm on his aching head , the way he dreamt of Priya running her soft hands over his cheeks during the birthday track, just shows how much her touch means to him..

Priya reminds me of runanu bandhan (body memory) concept in spirituality. I saw one beautiful video on that..

Touch is kind of body memory , a bondage , she rather keep it to minimum restricting it to only absolute necessary
