Is making female lead giveup her self respect necessary in every ITV shaadi?

Was making Priya feel inferior, compromising her self respect for her mother's promise, getting her humiliated more than the normal necessary?

Why can't Ekta Kapoor make one serial where FL does give a damn about her ego, where she does hold a grudge for what is done to her? Or is it just my mind making mole of today's scene where Priya did not want to go for marriage but eventually compromised just for her mother's promise?

Your thoughts?

One think I liked about today's episode was when Priya spoke up to Nandini and Shubham about them blaming her and family. But again for her mother's sake she had go against her wishes of not proceeding with the marriage.

I hate it when miscommunication becomes the root cause for misunderstandings. Here FL and ML have their POV, but don't speak up

It was just to show us that she is getting married only for the sake of her family. I somehow feel that scene was unnecessary but t was ok to hv it too. Ego does come into play. But everyone knows both. Raya are getting hitched for their family's sake. So ye sab chalta hai...

No humiliation= no compromise on self respect= no adarsh bahu who cries=no trp🤔

It doesn't matter how strong she is at the beginning or in the outside world, at home she must be ideal😳

I would love to see an FL who , for a change, keeps herself above everyone..even family. A bit of selfishness is absolutely necessary to survive in this world, and making yourself unhappy just to make others happy is not always worth it. Why do the FLs willingly give up their happiness, their wishes, for the sake of others all the time? It doesn't make you a bad person if you stand up for yourself and prioritise your own happiness.. but ITV serial makers don't understand this. And it keeps spreading a wrong message to the society that a girl who obliges to her elders' wishes, is a "good girl" , or else she is bad/spoilt/rude/ whatever. 🥱

I love Priya Sood but even she at some level is this adarsh "good girl" of the society.. sigh.

I think Priya Sood is the maximum we can get on ITV. Forget about holding grudges and being selfish , if a FL as much as dares to give it back to the people who have wronged them, the audience become so aggressive...

I had started to watch Kuch Rang new season... The amount of hatred Sonakshi got just because she chose herself for one day , went to her fathers house to get some sanity.. The amount of moral policing people did , I was just taken aback....

I abruptly stopped watching the show..

The typical mentality of ITV audience is ML ko saath khoon maaf hain , but there is long checklist of do's and don'ts when it comes to FL. How she should dress up, how she should speak, if she happens to be angry there is only a permissible limit of shouting allowed, anything beyond would become unacceptable.

And how to forget mother-in-law, no matter how much unethical tortures she does, the DIL still has to behave politely, and worst is call her Maaaaa.

I am glad that the makers have dared to show Priya's reluctance in calling Nandini Ma. You can't just accept someone as your own mother , the very second you get married.

If Priya continues addressing her MIL as Nandini ji in future episodes , I don't know how much hatred she would invite...

Meera would force her to call Nandini Maa quoting Ram..

Ram has found motherly love and warmth in Meera , hence he wants to call her Maa. But Priya deserves to take her own time , until she finds the right vibes with Nandini , it is completely okay if she doesn't want to call her Maa at this point of time.

But I am happy makers atleast showed Priya's discomfort.

I think it was just Priya’s monologue, her innate feelings based on her past experiences. Yes everyone did try to make her feel inferior, incl. Ram, but wasn’t she herself at fault here? No one humiliated her there if you have actually seen the episode. Ram didn’t even shout at her, not even his mother. It was only Shubhu who did that and only coz he felt angry that Priya is maybe taking revenge with him due to the marriage contract issue.

Yes, Priya is compromising, but isn’t Ram compromising too? Isn’t he hurt and ready to accept these changes in his life coz of his darling sister despite everyone knowing he loves someone else. Then why is only Priya empathised for giving up her self-respect? She feels humiliated, understood. But she could have simply let the issue go considering she didn’t even see who was driving and the police came on point at her wedding time.

Plus the most important thing. Ram left the altar since he was angry about the fiasco which Priya created and isn’t ready to give up. Then he fell sick which no one is aware of yet. Aren’t we suppose to emphathise with him that he too decided to come back for whatever reason but he did, even though Priya didn’t budge from her stance. If she feels that Ram returned only for her sister, then didn’t she agree to marry only for her brother?? What is this unnecessary rattle about I am being the sacrificial goat every time. She doesn’t even know Ram that well. Also, she has seen how Ram has been so loving, caring and respectful for her and her family all this while. And if my guess goes right, she even heard Adi n Bri talking about what Ram feels for his immediate family and how he can go to any extent to do that. Isn’t she suppose to calm down a bit n give him benefit of doubt? She has very conveniently forgotten what Ram has done for him in such a short span of time.

Frankly, I don’t think Ekta has ever shown that beautiful ML which she did with Ram and her FL is totally FLAWED this time. She’s unnecessarily whining about the whole men, marriage and women’s sacrifice thing considering her poor groom is so understanding and patient.

I get it that you like Ram's character a lot but please see whatever you are saying is relevent here or not dear.

I never said Ram insulted her, never said ML is good character or not. I simply asked why can't Priya chose what she really wanted to do at that moment which was not to sit in mandap instead of what her mother wanted, that's it. What such a long lecture out of the topic.

Your answer is amazing, full marks but at wrong place.😊

I know.😣

That is why star plus serial has 4.2 rating.

Show where FL did not compromise did not last even 1 year.
