But in season 1, Priya's younger sister was very materialistic and wanted to marry ram for money, she couldn't so she married his brother. She was always grey shaded character so she did that but here sandy isn't. I don't think she'd do that.

I think they might make Maitri marry Shubham to do that, by marrying Neeraj she has already proven she is materialistic

Maitri is lost in her own thoughts, is detached from reality most of the time. First she needs to leave neeraj and do some introspection. She also earnestly needs to apologise to Priya for what she did, it's the worst betrayal.

Then maybe they can show a new love interest for her, probably Ram's other friend, twinkle's ex. He would look better with Maitri than kunal imho

Agree on the leaving Neeraj part. We really don't know the circumstances under whatever, that happened, happened with the three. Maybe she did apologise to Priya, who at that time couldn't find in herself to forgive her.

She doesn't strike me as an inherently a bad person. She is genuinely really happy for Priya. I really do hope they introduce a new love interest instead of making Neeraj into a good guy later.

I too agree that Maitri isn't an evil person, she was genuinely happy when she heard priya was getting married and tried to help sandy with taking away that video from mami.

My theory is, Maitri has grown up in poverty and like every other sibling of hers she too has a coping mechanism. Sara learned to compromise, Priya was disillusioned and well Sandy tries her best to keep her family together meanwhile Maitri learnt that money is important to lead a comfortable life.

Can't blame her, she must've gotten tired with a life of struggle so she chose the next best option to escape that : Neeraj. I don't think she married neeraj specifically with any hidden agenda, if it were any other guy she would've married him too. In fact, I think neeraj would be the one to propose to her.But still it did hurt priya a lot and Maitri needs to earnestly apologize to her over it, it clearly did hamper their relationship.

Maitri, I've seen lives in her own world of dillusion, deep down she knows the reality of her husband and how he treats her like trash but she feels if she lets go of him, she would go back to struggling again.

I wish she redeems herself and takes divorce from that toxic assshole neeraj, she deserves better but I don't expect priya to forgive her. Their relationship is ruined for life, it can't go back to waht it was.
