HT-M-Makers felt din suit the part -Fenil / Pihu

Says newbie actor Fenil Umrigar about her hasty exit from a TV popular show due to a plot change brought about by the producers

When Fenil Umrigar had joined the cast of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, little did she know that she would be replaced by another actor within two weeks. Fenil, who played the role of the grownup Pihu " the daughter of the lead characters, Ram and Priya " will now be replaced by another newbie, Akshita Kapoor. The latter played Kritika Kamra's sister, Antra, in Kitani Mohabbat Hai.

Fenil explains, "When I was brought on board, I was told that Pihu, who is the darling of her parents, is a bit of a rebel and has a secret. Now, the brief has changed, and Pihu will soon turn into a negative character. The production house felt they wanted a stronger face to play the negative character. They felt I didn't suit the part." She adds, "And I wasn't comfortable or willing to play such a role so early in my career. With a mutual decision taken by me, and the channel and the makers, I am leaving the show. There are no grudges or ill will between us."

Meanwhile, things have been a bit confusing on this Ekta Kapoor show lately. In August, it took an eight-year time leap, as part of which the kids grew up to become teenagers. Within a month, the makers went for another seven-year leap and Priya was shown to have collapsed into coma. Now, we have got to know that a positive character, Suhani, will be introduced soon. She will play the role of Priya's caretaker.
