I dunno where to begin - <sniff> <sniff>

This isn't an episode analysis, per say. I never do any such analysis as a topic, but I just had to get my thoughts out this one time.

My God, I don't think I've seen a better performance on TV before! When Priya called Ram on teh phone, I felt like she was EVERY MOTHER personified in that scene. I totally worry like this when my son goes to my sister's house for a sleep over. I call late at night to have him checked ... I stay up the night worrying, so for the sake of my sanity, my husband has cancelled all sleep overs :) ...

In this case, it was forced. The gut wrenching, blood curling, heart stopping pain a mother feels at having to accept that your child will not be sleeping with you, is NOTHING. It's NOTHING, compared to the knowledge that your child is scared, somewhere, all alone. And THAT is what Priya is feeling. That mind numbing, endless dark pit filled with panic and pain, but worse of all, the helplessness. Of not being able to do anything about it.

As children, we believe our parents are all knowing, all seeing, and all protecting. As parents, we sort feel that way about our kids too. We're territorial, we yell, we discipline, we love, we protect. But WE do it all. Now, if that equation changes, if WE are not there ... well, who's protecting our children?

I remember, once, in a B&N store, I lost my 2 yr old for all about 5 minutes. I aged 20 years in those 5 minutes. I imagined ALL SORTS of scary and ridiculous things that could happen to him in those 5 minutes. Not because he wasn't with me, but because I didn't know if he was scared, or he knew where he was, or if he was hurt, etc. And THAT is what Priya is feeling. She doesn't know if Pihu is scared, well actually she does. She KNOWS she's scared. But if she doesn't know if her fear has been addressed. She doesn't know if someone is there to watch over her when she wakes up in the middle of the night. She doesn't know if she heard her bedtime story. She doesn't know if she was tucked in. She doesn't know, she just doesn't know ...

And Pihu - she doesn't know. She doesn't know why mommy isn't there. She doesn't know why she has to stay here. She doesn't know why all this sudden change. She just doesn't know.

And it's THAT knowledge, the knowledge that Pihu doesn't know, doesn't understand, that has Priya all the more scared. Am I making sense? Am I relating to, atleast, the mommy's out there? Or am I just rambling in an emotional state?

The last scene - My Lord! I have no words. When she chokes up on her tears, saying she KNOWS Pihu hasn't slept w/o her, she KNOWS she's used to hugging her to bed, she KNOWS Pihu isn't used to life w/o her ... All I have to say is - I don't think there was any fake tears in that scene - I don't think Sakshi would've needed them. I bet she cried during and after that scene was real. I'd love to see the SBS or making of that scene.

This woman - she's magic. The flabbergasted Ram, that was another plus. Poor guy didn't know what to do, or how to do it even if he knew what to do :). Loved it. A very genuine reaction for an estranged hubby. I know many wanted to see the hug - I say ... keep it at bay for now. Builds are anticipation. It'll come, in due time. And it'll be all the more coveted and cherished due to the wait. But Ram's attempts at consolation weren't gone unnoticed. He did want to do SOMETHING to make the situation better. Just didn't know what. He's not doing this out of spite - he truly wanted his daughter. Just not at the price it came with. Which he's slowly, but surely, realizing. What's helping is Priya not acting all witchy, or fighting him. She didn't say 'I can't live w/o her', or 'I came to see if she's okay coz I couldn't sleep'. She said 'Pihu may be scared', or 'here're her friends who'll keep her company at night', or 'I'm giving you my life, take care of her'. There was no taking back, or whining, in any of her attitude or dialogue.

And THAT is the Priya I fell in love with. THAT is the Priya Ram fell in love with. And is STILL in love with, as she knows very well. He just hasn't gotten over his anger just yet.

Okay, I can go on and on some more but I"ll end this here. Just had to write this up. Let me know what you guys think. It's not much of an episode analysis, just ramblings.

Love,
-S

Awww, thanks! 😛

It's definitely worth a watch, but be prepared to cry buckets.

Like I said, I'd love to see how Saakshi carried that out. She must have cried buckets herself.

Thanks!

So true, beautiful post, well said! Only Priya understands Ram and she knows that he still loves her dearly , but he hasn't gotten over his anger just yet. It was amazing to see the way she cried and told him why she was there, simply beautiful, without being over dramatic. No screaming, shouting nothing.. Kudos to the director and the writer.. As I said before in another post, hug is not going to come so easily.. Slowly Ram is realizing his mistake, he also loves his daughter and his wife its just that it is going to take some time for him to see things clearly..
Love the way he was trying to make pihu comfortable, All this time he was fighting for his daughter and suddenly without a fight Pirya gave pihu to him..which he was not at all expecting, so now he got want he wanted but he can not understand why he is not happy.. Amazing.. Love this track.. Ram and Sakshi are amazing actors, they make everything so real, I cried with Priya today.. 😕😭and little Amrita , what can I say, she is so amazing, gal can surely act..

Soon Ram will realize that his happiness lies with Pihu and also Priya, and he will get Priya back to KM.. Again an awesome episode...👏

Thanks you 😳

I think it was all the episode and not much me - Ram Saakshi and Amrita's acting just inspired me here. And, of course, the direction.

Thanks again! Glad you liked it.

Dearest.lilmzsunshine, not today episode, but your writing makes me
cry, i am a mother so I feel so so bad to watch today,s episode.
Ram and Sakshi both are superb,no comment about their acting
But today i never forgive Ram, you say "his anger' , I dont agree with you. What anger dear?? The anger which spoil his child dreams, the anger which destroy his lovely wife?? His selfish attitude bring sorrow two woman,s life . His men-ego,his foolishness ,his anger always harmful for his family.

If Priya did a wrong with him,if not his wife Mrs.Ayashya Ram kapoor did BIggg wrong in court ?? why he forgive her guilty??
how can he give his name to her, who destroy their life???

how can he allow that woman to sleep with his daughter???
Pl ,ram,s fan dont always praise Ram ,some time hate him.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

You know, you hit the nail when you talk about the sudden change in the fight. I feel, he almost WANTS Priya to fight, so he can get his anger out. He WANTS to get the anger out and away so he can mov e on. Isn't that lovely? Or maybe I'm crazy :). But I think he wanted her to fight, to put UP a fight, so he can WIN, and sort of feel justified. He still hasn't come to terms with the fact that she did this, disappeared on him. A child in hiding is even more of an offense, but it sure is a A LOT to come to terms with, and forget. And he's right in all of it. It's his prerogative. He would have given the world up for her, and she took that world and disappeared. Only to tell him it was there all along, just hidden from him, coz she chose so. And he doesn't understand why (honestly, neither do I. That was one weak story line by Ekta, no fault of the actors of course). So anger is justified.

But Priya is so understanding of it all. And she's being patient. I just LOVED how she said she's waiting for her to come back. So she hopes. And I beyond love every time she thinks things will EVENTUALLY be okay b/w her and Ram. She hasn't moved on, hasn't lost hope.

And that, I think, gets Ram royally upset :). You know, sort of how when you're mad at your hubby, or your mom, or your kid, or sibling, and thye're just standing there being patient and smiling, while you rant - doesn't it just aggravate you even more that they're waiting there patiently, smiling, while you rant away in frustration. That's what Ram is feeling right now. And that's what Priya is doing right now. Albeit with tears in her eyes, not a smile on her face.

Ah, I'll stop. I think the more I write about this episode, the more I want to write. So I'll just stop.

Thanks for your post. Lovely.
