the change in the overall tone of the forum (die hard fans becoming increasingly dissatisfied).
Forming groups and then shouting... Talking down... Insulting... Are all signs of an effort to win a losing battle... Or knowing the other person is sayig the truth... But having to defend ones own pov not to lose face... Hota hai ... :)
My point here is nothing but a confirmation that despite all efforts... This serial is losing appeal and it's viewer base... This forum is now ful of posts which state that the magic is not there... There are many reasons attributed... Like the public reaction to the C episode or that they are toning down the romance or that Sony is not promoting this serial etc etc etc...
See... Something like Big Boss gets a lot of negative attention... But it has a high viewership...we are not discussing good or bad... Simply stating a fact... So people hate it but watch it because it appeals to a base human nature...
Then there are some serials like Kismat (Kane and Abel)... Which very few people knew... But was a great watch...
Balh started out that way... It appealed to many people... The concept of a mature love story... Two mature people finding love through arranged marriage... A love born of a slow understanding and familiarity gained through the simple act of living together... Learning to love a person after observing them closely on a day to day basis and recognizing their good qualities etc...
But it was anything but... The characterization was all faulty... He is super rich shrewd businessman who has no pulse of recognizing people or what's going on right under his nose... A mature woman who screams and fights like a low class chawlwaali...
The above are examples... Just to stress the point...
So while it started very well... Balh soon lost most of it's viewers... Which is a telling point in itself... If it is not being watched... It is not worth it...
The C episode was watched simply to see what the hullabaloo was all about... It never did increase the viewer base... It intact lost many... What does that say?????? It was a publicity stunt that's all... Possibly Sakshi thought she will become like Vidya Balan... But while Vidya got rave review Sakshi got the brickbats... Why?????? The answer is in this why...
Nobody in the world would back a losing horse... The much hated saas bahu serials may be horrible... But they appeal to a vast majority for whatever reasons... CID appeals to a particular fan base...
In case of Balh... It has a small fan base as of now... This is deteriorating rapidly... Soon they will introduce major twists and turns... And then give up...
It would be easy to call me names and attribute jealousy etc... Which I am ok with... But that does not hide the glaring truth... This serial is going downhill big time... Even the updates are not worth reading... Save the love for something more deserving and more worth it...
I respect your choice of not liking the 'c' episode--everyone have their likes and dislikes-But it is a wrong perception that the TRPs dropped due to 'c' episode..
BALH has been gaining Avg TRPs of 2.9 since second week of Feb--(isn't it a uncanny coincidence a new show on zee was launched exactly around the same time-colors had a new show launched in Jan-both shows garnering healthy 2+ TRPs-their earlier shows were not doing as well).
The week preceding the consummation had high dramas backed by aggressive promotions by sony for the 'c' episode'The week averaged a trp of 3.5.The 'c' episode itself had the TRP of 3.57(second highest in the month'and much higher than the avg TRP of 2.9).The episodes that followed 'c' had a TRP of 3.45 ,3.05 (also higher than the current Avg). The weeks following the 'c' episodes have gone back to the 2.9 trps..also to be noted there was hardly any new promo after the 'c' episode was telecasted.(certainly the TRPs have not dipped beyond 2.9 mark. The loyal regular viewers did not stop watching BALH post the 'c')
There is yet another coincidence-- there has been a dip in TRPs in all Sony's daily shows- certainly BALH 'c' episode is NOT responsible for the same. The rival channels have revamped their shows-introduced twists, time leaps etc and also have marketed the shows well. Have kept special 'maha'episodes regularly..
Isn't it crystal clear that the new competition combined with Sony's lethargic marketing that has led to a dip in TRPs since past few months'
Cheers!!
