Priya is just * BITTER* . In my opinion it has to do more with life experiences than age...

I hope the CT's show some changes in her character as the serial progresses.

Would love to see the Ram effect on her.

Bolly, you are right. I have been feeling the same as well. And anyone who knows me knows how much I love Sakshi and therefore Priya. But these days it seems she has an ulta jawaab for everything. Even in the face mask scene with Shipra and Ayesha, she was saying things like "I'm not putting that on...I am fine as I am". I mean, fine, you don't want to change yourself but its a face mask, not plastic surgery, for heaven's sake! Even the simplest of girls does occasionally use a face pack.

Ram, though he has his moments too, is at least accepting the whole thing with more grace. She "teased him" (her words) about taking her plant etc from her room...he said, okay. But she somehow thinks he is using her ? I don't get why. She was shown as this happy-go-lucky person in the beginning who, despite her few sad emotions, did see life in a positive way. Why is she suddenly so depressed?

I think if i were in her spot, i would have acted just like that...just think about it, she is older, and its her wedding, we all have dreams of how things ought to be at our weddings...so its only natural that she act that way! :)
And considering her history with Ram- its only natural that she make smart comments lol!

Since i am closer to her age, i will simply say...she is someone who cares for her family, has shouldered their burden & cannot see them hurt/cry. However,they are such a diverse lot, upar se Ram ka namoona parivaar...any girl will be sensitive & confused at this stage. I did not expect her to weep for her dad in front of Ram, but thats another issue...

She has sacrificed a lot to support her family, but she has also lent support her way...not the stereotypical way of working 9-5 as a suppressed office goer. She says & does things as per her likes...so she is a strong character. Iss shaadi mei, she doesnt really have much of a say...something a girl would want in her own marriage...her dad of course doesnt have the guts to say anything...so she gets irked & miss high mighty. Like any other normal person she has her moods too...whether her reason is PMS or not...i'll leave it for Priya to answer

However, I feel that deep down she likes how innocent/naive Ram is...which is y she is so successful in pulling his leg at times... She is also opening up to Ram...so what if it is at his insistence & if it comes across as being bitchy...even the best of us have bitchy thoughts at some time or the other...esp when the discussion is about should be's & could be's!

Nonetheless, i will agree that she does need to admit that things are not easy for Ram either...he is way older than her...so much more inflexible! She need not be caustic with him especially when he genuinely wants to understand y she is upset! Give the guy some brownie pts for trying at least!!! The lecture she gave Ram on sharing lives..she actually needs to review & apply it to herself!

phew...so good observation...i agree with it...bcoz of the above reasons!

I adore Priya in general and love Sakshi's portrayal of her too but I have to agree with your point here as well...

In some scenes, Priya comes across as meaner than needed...like I honestly didn't understand the need for her to snub Ram in THAT way when he said, "Please don't call me cute...it's awkward" lol...I mean she could have smiled in bemusement and not said anything or even teased him to some extent...but instead she's like, "I don't like LYING"...ummm that came across as a little too harsh...

The second scene when Ram approaches her as she's crying and says that it's ok she can bring all her stuff and she tells him that she was just kidding pehle...lol now see that I see as more regular Priya...a Priya who teases him like that...that goes with the character...but sometimes they make her too unnecessarily mean and harsh and that jars me :S

Please dont mistake me... But priya didnt walk away serious when ram told her not to call him cute.. She was like, Mr Kapoor aap jaante hai ki main kabhi jhoot nahi bolti aur mujhe jhooth bolna pasand nahi hain.. It was soo damn funny... The way he was all "oh wat was i telling and to whom" It was sooo funny to see his face... A tit for tat answer to tht scene during their engagement.. Just loved tht scene..
