Wow! That's so unprofessional...I was actually wondering about this in terms of the voice-over...there were several moments during the first couple of weeks when I was sure I wasn't hearing Ram Kapoor voice...I felt that someone else had dubbed the scene...Now it makes sense...

That's so tacky! Why are the production values so abysmal?!

@bold: LOL cuz this is an Ekta soap...the production values usually are abysmal onlyšŸ˜†...and yes, in the first few weeks, there were definitely dubbing issues.

For most scenes, they do have Ram-Sakshi together but it seems for the wide angle family shots, they are using body doublesšŸ˜•...Maybe Ram and Sakshi's schedules clash cuz they are working on movies as wellšŸ˜•

@Vas: I also thought we had some time before this descended into that...lol...but you never know with EktašŸ˜•šŸ˜†

Sudhir was saying things like "oh, okay so you didn't know until today about Vi-neat's first marriage, but you are still the kharta-dharta of all this mess", "you have made sure my daughter's izzat is destroyed blah blah blah...you should have done a proper check before today". The useless crap.

On Kahaani, I had a name for my favourite character Shruti's useless husband - inventively, it was "Spineless Sameer". I think I am going to pull an Ekta and recycle that epitaph here - how does Spineless Sudhir sound?

And WHY should RAM have done a proper check? Priya ki family ka PA hai? Waise, bhi he stands like a bodyguard/bouncer around them šŸ˜†

And 'Spineless Sudhir' sounds great! SS!
And Nutella sounds like a chocolate brand, so lets stick to Nutzilla only, Godzilla type! 😃

@bold - exactly what I said ! The fact that Ram even bothered to FIND Priya a guy is frankly above and beyond his call of duty; he's not her father or brother or best friend that he should have such concern for her. Sudhir did NOTHING, Karthik did NOTHING, Shruti se toh koi umeed nahi thi but for a supposed best friend she too did NOTHING. Only Shipra did something, even though it was misguided.

And they didn't even know that Ram had sent him until yesterday! Pehle toh they thought he came from the web! Couldn't Sudhir have done some checking then?!

You know, I think more than Priya, Spineless Sudhir is the romantic novel type - he fully expects some handsome, rich, perfect rajkumar to just tapko from the heavens fully formed and fall in Priya's lap. She at least does not expect such a thing to happen and has said countless times "Mere papa mere liye jisko bhi chunenge main usse shaadi kar loongi". And Papa dearest, despite the heaviest of hints, is still sitting spinelessly in his rocking chair, dreaming of princes and bundles of cash. Loser.

Nutella IS a chocolate brand! šŸ˜† It is actually a hazelnut spread with cocoa in it, and it is YUMMY! It tastes just like Ferrero Rocher chocolates except it is a spread! šŸ˜ You can see why I hesitate to call Nuts by that name šŸ˜†

I actually think Ram behaved really badly...

I think what he did was terribly underhanded. To arrange for this V dude to contact Priya's family via a profile they had posted, leading them to believe that this rishta had emerged independently...that's underhanded...esp given how he congratulated her and wished her well...that's doesn't sit well with me at all.

I am not absolving Priya's family and Priya herself of the responsibility they had to take their time and do some investigating...

In fact I think everyone (including Priya) has culpability in this...but Ram, according to me, has behaved in the worst, most underhanded way...

How could he possibly think that a man who would marry for money and promotion could be a decent guy? In fact, Vikram is guilty of this as well. He's the one who suggested to Ram that finding a guy wouldn't be a problem (they could buy him off with the promise of cars, jobs etc)...he's the one who put it into Ram's head that Priya needed convincing and the only way it seems to me that they decided this would happen was to make her think that she decided to marry this guy of her own volition...

That sucks!

Anyway...I do agree that Priya's family should own their part it in this sordid mess
But Ram is guilty of something far worse in my mind...

See, I get your point. I do think he should have stopped when he was told to stop. And he certainly should have checked the guy out before. Both he and Vikram are responsible for the whole "let's find a guy - we can give him money, promotion etc" thing.

But. Ultimately it comes down to this - Ram is not responsible for Priya. His goal in finding a guy for Priya is not because he cares about her (necessarily) but because he cares about his own sister - there is an end goal in his mind that to him is far more important. This is not to absolve him from his actions, but it is almost DEFINITELY Priya's responsibility and her family's responsibility to ensure that the guy they see, wherever he comes from, is suitable. If Ram is to Nuts what Karthik is to Priya - then while we see Ram actively doing something to ensure his sister gets the best in life, even going so far as to settle some random girl he just knows THROUGH Nuts, then why is Karthik hanging back and letting him do it? If Priya is Karthik's "zimedaari", then what has he done to fulfil that? Hang around watching Nuts pretend to shoot herself? What happened to his lamba bhashan of the other day?

Yes, Ram's actions were wrong but they were born out of a desperation to get something done. Just as Shipra's actions - the lying about the age, the marriage bureau guy, the widowed guy she found on the net - all of these are born out of her desperation also. But as parents, she & Sudhir, and as a brother, Karthik are all MORE responsible in my mind to ensure that their family is on the right path. Ram is an outsider; if not for Nuts he would never even know Priya, so it is not his responsibility to even bother looking for a guy. That he has, and that he has found the wrong one, is a mistake he has made, but it's a mistake he only made out of good intentions. It's a mistake he didn't have to make. He certainly didn't do it with negative intentions - just an impatience born from a wealth he's always had, and a desire to make snap decisions. To me, Sudhir and Shipra's (and Karthik & Priya's) inaction is more dangerous.

I so do agree with you on this. I am not even bothered about the spineless Sudhir and the bratty Karthik ( this is all his doing in my eyes). Priya's family are as nutty as the Nuts herself.

But Ram got this dude to agree by giving him the bribe of promotion and money. Just because this dude was married, he stopped this marriage. But till then he was ok with it. Would he ever have liked that the person marrying his sister could be bought? He himself thought Karthik was all for his money, didn't he? He changed his mind, when Karthik made that bhashan about how he would progress only on his merit and not on Ram's money. Then how could he imagine that Vineet, who could be bought, is a right choice for Karthik's sister?

Ram redeemed himself slightly by halting the marriage ( through a slap?!!) but he is as much as fault as Vineet in this case.

Aah well, drama it is.. and drama it will be.
