Screechers, corrupt cops and other random nonsense

Sigh...maybe it's because I'm incredibly tired today from work, but I found that first scene nearly unbearable, all thanks to the screechy Shipra 🤢 It was like listening to someone scratch their nails on a chalk-board for ten minutes. And of course, every time Ram or Priya turned towards each other, something conveniently stopped them from seeing eye-to-eye . The only saving grace of that scene was Ram, who went from polite and apologetic to intense and angry in the blink of an eye. I loved the control in his expression - the anger that he was banking, the hint of moisture as he realised he had missed his father's barsi. And the controlled, even way he walked back to the car without looking at Shipra, and quietly informing her that he would now make her life a living hell. And I even liked the finger-to-eye thing 😆 Ram was par excellence in this scene, more so than Sakshi whose job it was to do nothing but stand there and repeat the same dialogue.

The scene at home was meh to start with - so we know what the father does all day - listens to old songs instead of, oh, I don't know...working😡 what is his deal?? I liked that Karthik was introduced today, but seriously - the lead of the show, Sakshi, is introduced in the most normal of ways, and then some random kid playing her brother is introduced in the filmiest style possible 🤔...erm, yeah. Since he is basically the plot point who will bring Priya & Ram together, I didn't much care for the overly dramatic intro.

And then the scene with the policemen 🥱 again, Shipra and her screeches ruined it completely.

I'm not entirely sure what the point of that whole scene in the police station was apart from showcasing the complete and utter corruption of Indian police. Understood that Ram has a reason to be angry, but the fact that he is using his money and influence to harrass people whose only fault was to create a scene is...unpalatable to me. Ruthless is fine, but unnecessarily cruel? Hmmm...

Again, it is possible I had such a negative reaction to today's episode simply due to tiredness, and that I might change my mind when in a better mood...but it seems to me that nothing was actually accomplished today, other than to set Priya and Ram up for a few angry meetings before a jhat-mangi, pat-biah type scenario where they have to face their siblings being in love and wanting to get married. Ram and Sakshi are always good, but today I found Ram excellent in one scene, Sakshi excellent in the police station scene, and then varying degrees of meh throughout the rest of the episode. Anyone has any different thoughts?

My brain is also zapped today at work but I can totally understand your frustration...it does seem like a time waste epi where NOTHING moved...STILL they didn't meet? How many more of these filmy situations must we bear through??😵

And that Shipra toh was getting on my nerves in the previous epi too...DAMN shrill she is!

I shall watch it just for the Rambabu scene...the rest I expected that milan is going to be delayed, I mean if milan jaldi hogaya toh creatives logo ko aur kuch ideas soch karni paregi...

No, you aren't the only one Vas. I found the first scene unbearably annoying too...but then the show is just barely bearable for me anyway. Priya's mother is such a selfish witch...and Goddd...her voice...totally nails-on-chalk-board kind. But yes Ram (the actor) was awesome there...see this is the mark of a good actor...the transition from mild irritation to being politely apologetic and then that controlled rage was flawless...didn't like that finger-to-eye thing though. 😆

I kinda like Sakhshi more today...she was good in the accident scene and EXCELLENT in that police station one. For one thing, I felt really, really bad for her...anddd I was surprised I didn't get Parvati Bhabhi deja vu from her when she was lecturing those police walas...they SOO deserved that lecture btw ...sahi baat ho toh lecture toh banta hi hai. I like her for showing some spine for once...aur waise bhi Ram (the character) acted like a complete, if I say it frankly, Kamina. I understand his anger...I do...and it's justified...but Priya's mom is a certified churail, no second thoughts about it...but I never expected THIS from Ram (the character)...the whole police station crap was a bit too much coming from him...he didn't seem that cruel. 😕 Sachi itna bhi kya kameenapan hai yaar...had hogai. I'm totally rooting for Priya to sunaofy him...in total EK heroin style that is. 😆 He deserves it! Badtameez!

Yeah Anu, it's been a hell of a day. Started off bad and got progressively worse...but even so I think the ep was a waste of time and not just my imagination. Ek-do scenes ke ilava, I was just 🥱 throughout.

And shrill is one thing, but today Shipra was downright obnoxious - I mean, the man is going to his father's barsi for heaven's sake, and all she's worried about is some pay-off 🤢

Milan will be delayed no doubt, but does she have to use such staid methods to keep them apart? Such as a crowd of people conveniently shielding Priya from Ram's gaze, and Priya trying to peer through these people and not being able to see him??

thanks for your take on the episode and my thoughts are just the same.
Shipra is annoying, wish some1 could stuff something in her mouth!😵 Raam was very good Shakhi good at the police station not over the top 'lectures'!!
I found it a little confusing about Raam's character he seems to be very understanding yet he was being very cruel by harassing Priya's family. I just want to believe that he was angry for the moment and will not make they spend every 2 hrs of their day at the police station.
Secondly, i didn't quite like the storyline of Raam being late for his father's barsi and not taking enought initiative in making sure he reaches on time. How about calling for another car or just handing over a few bills to that annoying woman!
I liked Karthi's intro a bit filmi but it was ok. I liked the fact that he shares a good bond (atleast from the conversation they had!!)
The last bit of the episode was interesting, how Raam is not able to relate to wives calling b/w meetings and all the days of the week happen to be same - work!
a few bloopers i just noticed.
If today's episode was suppose to be a sunday then wasn't Ram and his friend at the snooker game.followed by the blind date in the evening. so it should be Monday when Raam mentioned about having meeting in the evening for their presentation.
is police station open on a sunday??
Did Raam actually spend '2hrs' listening to Shipra's annoyance and miss his father barsi??!!! wasting 10 or 15 minutes was believable but two whole hours??
Why was priya frying puris if her brother would come home in the evening??!!
i hope finally Ram and Priya meet but i am sure there will be lots of confusion before these two get hitched🤔 i wish i cud fast foward all those episodes and jump to their marriage scene🥳

Exactly, Mash! I get that he was incredibly angry and why wouldn't he be, after what Shipra had cost him. But I was unable to reconcile the smiley, happy Ram in the final scene with the one who had made Priya and her father wait and be harrassed by cops for 2-3 hours. It simply didn't gel with me.

True though that I didn't get the Parvati bhabhi flashbacks with her scene in the police station. No "oh this is such an unnecessary and sanctimonious bhashan" etc - those cops deserved a lot more from her but she was cool and collected throughout. I feel bad for her too - no wonder she hasn't gotten married, what with the parents she has its a miracle she turned out sane. Her father is a useless nikamma and her mother might as well be Godzilla's mother for all the destruction she weaves! 😆

Agree and disagree with you Vasu...Ram was excellent today as was Priya however in a way her scenes and dialogues were minor to Ram's. Can't believe they didn't meet again today 😡 however I'm seeing the potential in this week's episode. I liked the police station scene simply because once again differences were shown in Ram and Priya's characters subtly...the way Ram used bribery against Priya and her mum and how Priya confronted the bribery. Although I have to agree, Shipra is pretty annoying!! Can't she just shut up sometimes...that whole scene at the accident scene was unnecessarily created by her. Karthik's entry was a bit filmi especially compared to Priya's however the bond between Priya and Karthik is looking pretty promising and strong judging by their phone conversation.

Hi, (May I call you Vasu?)
Very very annoying. I thought it'll be my lucky day updating "the milan" & all I got was Shipra having epileptic seizures.
Hated the selfish woman for her reaction at Ram's plea about his father's death anniversary. How careless. 🤢
Ram & Saakshi were the saving grace again.Looks to me that is going to be the norm. Every body else seem so random in this show.
Lovely write up.
