Do you think Aastha was right ending the engagement at that moment in time?

Doing something like that is such a big besthi (shame/embarassment) for parents, especially those portrayed like Aastha's family.

Would you have done the same thing and ended the engagement within 2 minutes of sitting down?

I personally would have either asked to speak to my parents before sitting down for the ceremony, or if that was not possible i would have gone along with the engagement and said something in private afterwards.....so things are kept behind closed doors and friends/relations don't get to see tamasha.

yeah you are right - but i guess these dramas like to make everything melodramatic lol....we know reality deviates alot from these drama serials..

I agree with what you said in the last paragraph. But i see where she is coming from.......her parents are the most important thing for her right now....and when she was about the go ahead with the ceremony..........her mind was thinking about all the possibilities of what her parents would have to go through in the near future.....thats why she said all this abruptly........

^^^yea u r rite but at the same time she should have think abt wut would they have to go after she ends her engagment...and she should have tlked to her going-to-be-husband abt her parents or atleast tell her parents abt her sis and bro..and think wut they have to say...
