Sarita Joshi in Ek Packet Umeed

There's a huge question mark over the future of Ek Packet Umeed with the NDTV Imagine show tipped to go off air this month end. However, before that could happen, there's enough time for a new character to step in.

Veteran actress Sarita Joshi, aka Baa of Baa Bahoo Aur Baby fame, will be seen in a cameo role in Ek Packet Umeed.

Talking about her role Sarita says, "I'll be there in the show for only three episodes. My character is called Vasundhara. She's the owner of Umeed Bhavan. Years ago, she left behind certain things in Umeed Bhavan. She's now returned to get them back. There will be different shades to Vasundhara."

When asked about why she'll be there for only three episodes, she replied, "Well, at the moment it's just three but I might be called back. This is a beautiful show, where it projects the struggle of women in India. It's nice to be part of a show which can have a positive influence on the women of this country."

Those are truly wise words from Sarita but we hope that show can last long to have an impact.
