This is why i moreso feel yudhishthir knew it.

Citation:

But it so happened that the chamber where the illustrious Pandavas had their weapons was then occupied by Yudhishthira the just with Krishna.

What I think this means is, there exists a room, where the weapons were kept at that point. (Not a designated weapon room). For eg, I have my study text books in a spare room in my house. Now the door is closed and at that point, Yudhishthir and Draupadi probably had entered the room for some reason, and what is to be noted is they were ALONE. Dasis saw them going in but i am sure they do not know what they were doing inside.

Now Arjun arrives (he already knew they were inside so we can assume he saw them go in), dasis say both are alone inside - he doesn't care and enters. He sees them in between something he should not have seen. Gets exiled.

Also i don't think arjun cared as u said because he felt drau was his wife first.

I agree with u abt polyandry.

That’s an interesting analysis, yudi s anyway no dhood ka dhula, that’s pretty much possible explanation.

can anyone provide the citation of garland breaking down? I read and it was like she approached Arjuna with Garland and they leave with Draupadi who is now/ will be his wife

If elder brother couldn't marry younger brother's wife as a rule then why Yudi asked Arjuna to marry Draupadi first, after all he had decided all of them would marry her, I mean why would he make himself and Bheema incapable of marrying Draupadi by asking Arjuna to marry her first? If the rule was correctly then only Arjuna, Nakul and Sahdev could marry Draupadi

Maybe there was no rule against older brother marrying younger brother's wife

'Dhananjaya of curly hair who never departed from his vows, these words, 'O sinless one, if I am an authority worthy of regard, listen to what I say. O hero, full well do I know the reason why thou hadst entered my chamber and didst what thou regardest to be an act disagreeable to me. But there is no displeasure in my mind. The younger brother may, without fault, enter the chamber where the elder brother sitteth with his wife. It is only the elder brother that acts against the rules of propriety by entering the room where the younger brother sitteth with his wife. Therefore, O thou of mighty arms, desist from thy purpose. Do what I say. Thy virtue hath sustained no diminution. Thou hast not disregarded me.'

Yudi boy is saying that Arjuna entered his chamber, the other argument would have been he entered weapon room which is not his fault as Yudi boy had no business with Draupadi in weapon room

In mahabharat arjun tell to yudhistar that

First draupdi will marry married to yudhistar

draupd will i marriey to bheem

Then Will marry to arjun

Then will marriy to nakul

Then will marry to sehdev

Source kmg either from swayamvar parv or vavaikhka parv. ( these two up parvs come under adi parv)

I think even arjun said to yudhistar u r elder so u will marry first

Thank you.

I have felt Yudhi was jealous of Arjun and he knew what he did was unfair to him, besides he celebrated and enjoyed the fruits of the success of Bheem and Arjun always.

That's why I feel he deliberately did this to drive him away

Drama.

He was just faking. He meant only Arjun marry her, but obviously he knew Arjun won't let that happen and follow Vyasa.

For eg, i get an offer. Now i want it for myself only but my brother is also eligible. I will be like... Nahi nahi.. Tum hi lo.. Tumne jeeta hai. So much that my bro says nahi bhaiya. Aap bare hai, aap lijiye. Again, Freudian reaction formation

Arjun meant Yudhi marry her first and then the rest- he hinted at polyandry as per Vyasa's orders and Yudhi-Kunti's plan which he understood.

I think he doesn't mean his personal chamber because why will weapons be in his bedroom XD i think it just means a room and his chamber means the chamber where he was there at that point.. Just from the words.

Vyasa's plan and Draupadi's boon is part of divinity, If we remove it then Arjuna was saying that he can't marry before his brothers, not to Draupadi but generally, even now first child is married before 2nd child

What struck me was the description after Arjuna's speech, All brothers looked at Draupadi and they were filled with desire and started thinking about her then Yudi announces that everyone will marry her listening to this all the brothers were cheerful

Yudi didn't speak about the boon or past life in front of Drupad, He said they share jewels and they can't change this practice therefore all will marry Draupadi, He also told Drupad that he is unwed so is bheema (Hidimba's husband and Gatothkach's father)

The thing here is that how can Yudi know if they were desiring Draupadi or were happy after the news of her bring their common wife, maybe he was the one who desired her, rest wouldn't think about possibility of sex with Arjuna's future wife

Drau was extremely beautiful. Probably that's the reason he knew all must be desiring her but this is what the poet of Mahabharat ie Vyasa tells us. Yudhishthir cannot know for sure- you're right.

He is the one who wanted Drau for himself. Hence this decision. He knew how to get his ways.
