Yep, genes sure do play a part. Dhritarasthra was largely responsible for Duryodhana's initial mindset.

Of course, the rest he did on his own.

😊

Yes agreed. Also he didn't have good company at all. His parents didn't really do much good in bringing him up either.

I was examining the entire story through a human lens. In that case, no one can be Ansh of any God or Demon.

So their childhood influences and their choices define their personalities and way of life.

Anyhow, I have very little belief in demons or Asuras. I think the so called "demons" are just non-Aryans or originals tribes.

So, agree to disagree😊

I got your point. :)

By human lens you must have meant modern, contemporary lens.

Yeah it's justifiable since asuras and gods aren't our contemporaries. 😅

But, modern lenses would discard several other things and the epic is thousands of years old. That's why I believe certain things that are explicitly stated. The belief doesn't extend to the general feeling though.

Agree to disagree. :)

Dhritarashtra's part definitely mattered. Even Krishna labelled him the root of the evil tree called Duryodhana.

There were some instances during which even Dhritarashtra spoke sense. But Duryodhana never listened.
