  • Is that right? Should a shop owner force another to request at a shop?.
🤣🤣 this question just made me feel better..i remember doing that once..but i was on a craze and i was just wanting to make sigs and go on and on! it was fun. =P On a serious note, well..I'm not sure actually. It depends..like why do they want people to request? for popularity? or is it that they just want to make sigs? Now if they just want to make sigs..why not just make examples and see if people like it or not! now u cant really force people into liking your creations.

Those are some really good points and questions, Jenny..

I've also wondered, why do people close down their shops if no one comments?? It doesn't mean that no one likes your sigs at all... i think some people just feel really nice when they see someone saying how nice their creations are.. I mean, we all feel happy when we get appreciated and commented on our sigs, but to close down a shop/gallery because no one comments... although, that really just depends on the person. 😛

Another thing also, is that what is the line between making sigs for fun and then it just being a job? I know some people stop making sigs because of too many requests and whatnot, and that makes them think that siggy-making is a job, but not fun.. so that's the white line in between that differentiates between the both?

If I take requests, I know I won't be able to finish them and make them on time - so that's why I never open a shop.. I did a loooooonngggg time ago, but it never worked out because there were just so many and i like to spend time on the sigs I make.. but kudos to those of you who can do these requests and still make sigs normally as well!! 😃

That's a really good discussion, Jenny. 😛

Personally, even though I don't make sigs, I've never understood why they MAKE someone request in their shop. I also don't get why they close down the shops either! . Just because people aren't posting comments, doen't mean thats their creations are bad, just like Ammu said.

😆 😆 this question just made me feel better..i remember doing that once..but i was on a craze and i was just wanting to make sigs and go on and on! it was fun. =P On a serious note, well..I'm not sure actually. Thats a diff thing when you have a craze to just make sigs...for fun!! 😆 😆 ...The popularity thin, well I thing thats what most peoeple aim for, which really annoys me! I mean, why do people aim for POPULARITY?!...does it make them feel better about themselves?!

And like you said, if they just want to make sigs, then why not make sigs with any old pics, and have everyone use them?

You bring a good point Ammu. See, in my opinion, most people that think of sig making as a work, just want popularity, or in some cases, can't say NO to people, like a certain somebody I know..Cough Coug! 😛

Thats also one reason thats people close shops, they;re overwhelmed by all the requests. 😛

nice discusion 👏 👏

wel , me also i dont like when someone force someone to request to her shop coz request sud be made from one's consent not by simply forcing them n zis is a reason why the person who has requested at the shop by force , wont use zat sig compared to a voluntary request.

^I aggre seeta di. I mean id you force some one to request, they really don't want to request at the time, and will end up using the sig only for like a week or so, as compared to the voluntary ones, they'll use it for a longer period of time.

I'm back with another issue: We have been tolerating copying a LOT lately and it's tough. Especially for me as many sig makers copy and there's no difference between inspired and copying as it seems which is sad.

Instead of making a new sticky for this, I'll post it here: We again did receive many complaints regarding some members who have been copying each and every sig maker's style. We unfortunately are going to PM those members and will ask them to think of their own ideas instead of copying. 😊 Don't force us to post examples, please.

Someone had once posted that it annoys him/her when people use the same font. Please imagine how it feels when almost everyone uses things you came up with.

Back to the normal discussion 😃

^^ I agree Khushi, but is using the same font as equal to copying? 😳

No Jenny, not at all. 😳 One sig maker had once posted something like 'It annoys me when members use the same font I do'. Which I felt was wrong - what should I be saying then? I think you had once said 'Using the flowers isnt copying because everyone does'. Problem was just that it was copied from my sigs, as usual.

We just want members to know that even if we keep quiet, we see who's copying everyone.

Brrrrrr....copying scares me!! Talking about it scares me, this issue is very sensitive in our section and sadly, very common.

If anyone thinks of a way to really solve this, they should get Nobel Prize! 😎

Is that right? Should a shop owner force another to request at a shop?
    • the only reason i do that is cuz my pm box is always full and i tend to lose my requests in my inbox and sometime they even get deleted accidently...so it's just easier for me to keep track of them in my shop.
  • Why do we succemb to failure so easily?
    • hmm well i dont...i mean my siggys in the beginning were nothing like they are now. They were as simple as possible..lol i remember my 1st siggy only had 3 pics on a plain black bkground...so just cuz ppl dont like your wrok should make u stop doing something u love. Infact, if you really love making siggys then you wont let it stop you.
  • I understand that you put loads of hard work into your creations and no one comments and it hurts, but why do we just end up closing shops?
    • HAHA it takes time to get noticed! That doesn't mean you should close your shops! That's wht we're trying to tell the newer members in our cc...be patient and u will be noticed. The only reason i close my shop is cuz of too many requests. It's so ppl dont have to wait too long for their requests.
  • Also, I have seen same person making multiple different shops, is that allowed?Wouldn't it be easier tohave one shop for everything?
    • yea, 1 shop is the best way to go...multiple shops cause confusion
Great Discussion Jenny!
