Another thing: Popularity. We had the same discussion before and people denied it, I still don't believe it. This week I posted 3 or 4 sigs for use, just because I have this bunch here for my site.

Yesterday I posted a DON sig...all of a sudden someone else made a DON sig. Is that just a co-incidence? Whenever I have a new sig and avi, people make some with the same pics and ask members to use them. They make it to be popular.

I really don't believe those who tell me they don't.. Some are desperate, some like me are happy when peolple don't talk about them for some time.

I guess i count in one of those too and I won't deny it, I used the PC pictures and made a sig, but I would say that not for popularity I made it, I wanted to experiment but I'll remember this Khushi😊

1. Creativity - All u people out there sayinbg find your own idea, dont copy etc. Now, its not that i advocate copying or anything. But how do people start out? They read tutorials, they follow instructions and they look what other people do. Thats how they start out. And i'm sure thats how many of u 'advanced/experienced' sig makers started out too. As much as you feel irritated that newbies ask u about queries, place yourself in their shoes. Who did u ask? If someone had not helped you, would u have improved? Maybe the person wasnt on IF, mayve it was a tutorial on some other site. But the fact remains, u got helped and u shouldnt mind helping people. I started mking sigs just recently, and seriously i probably wouldnt have known anything if not for members like Shaily who helped me out. Totally agree with you! Like blending in pictures, Sana was a huge help. I never followed tutorials so I don't know much on that😳 I basically start experimenting with the buttons of the software, I think it's very important to know how your software works by hitting different tabs and knowing what they do😃

2. Pictures - Sorry but i really dont buy the argument of good pictures leading to good sigs. I dont know much about photoshop, but i do know its used by professionals for photo editing. And i guess u can edit the photos to set the balance and contrast right before using the pic. Whats the talent in sig making if ur just going to position those photos and set a gradient on them and top it up with a few brushes? Well, I do agree somewhat with you on this topic. I think it's how you present that "good" or "bad" pictures is what leads to being a good and bad sigg. Not use many brushes and overcrowd them but I have to say that Good pictures are much easier to work with Bad pictures at least in my case. like some pics I like are in so bad shape, that even If I make a sig out of them, it looks crappy even though I put an effort on it😊

I remember when i first made my Abhi siggy someone pmed me and said "is it ok if I make something similar to it? I really like it and I want to make something like it..." What am I supposed to say to that 😆. I don't care anymore...(that doesn't mean that it's ok to do that).

This just happened to my yesterday so i'm going to mention it. I usually make siggys on request by members. My intent is for only that person to use it. And when i go around in other sections i see that OTHER ppl have used it w/o even asking...It hurts that they just random use it and don't even bother to acknowlegde who made it and for whom. I guess from now on, I'm putting the person's name on it to prevent that.

So, According to you, what elements should a good siggy and siggy-maker must have?

* Pictures/Images: The images must be clear in the sig. If the picture's quality is bad, try and try until you get it to be clear.

* Brushes: Where you put the brushes, how you use the brushes, etc.

* Text/Font: The kind of font you use makes the sig more attractive.

I've seen people here using the same copyright font. I'm not saying its wrong but it's annoying to see everybody having the same font for their copyright. For ie: redensek. Redensek came popular and the majority for members here started using this font. I admit, I had done that a few as well. I had also used redensek for my copyright. I got bored with the same font for all of my creations so I started experimenting with a few other fonts. "Visitor" worked great for me. I started using it and after a few days I saw more and more people using the same font for their copyright. Its okay to have 2-3 people using the same font for their copyright, but mot everybody. Once a person uses a font, everybodyyy on the forum starts using it. Try using different fonts each time! 😃

Each time I make a sig, I try being different, I'm still working on it though! 😃
