| | | | This tutorial will learn you how to make new brushes as well as making a nice sparkle-effect. It's not hard to do, so you don't need to be very good to make it :) First fill the background with a dark color, i used black in this tutorial. To do this pick a black foreground color, and use the "Paint Bucket Tool" [K] (fig.1), or go to the "Edit" menu, and choose "Fill" - and then pick the foreground color from here. Now you will have the image filled with that color. The next step will be to create 4 new brushes. fig.1 Onto making the brushes: Go to the Brushes box, and click on the arrow in the upper right corner (fig.2) (If you cannot see the brushes box, go to the "Window" menu and pick "Show Brushes".) When you click on the arrow, a foldout menu will appear. Pick "New Brush" from the menu.
fig.2 Well, you now have the "New Brush" box in front of you. Use the same settings as in fig.3 for the first brush. Then for the 3 last brushes use the following settings: Brush 2: Angle = 0 degrees, Diameter = 60 Brush 3: Angle = 45 degrees, Diameter = 60 Brush 4: Angle = 135 degrees, Diameter = 60 Note: For the brushes, the only settings you need to adjust from the first one, is the diameter and the angle, leave the other as they are. fig.3 When you are done with your four brushes, they should look like fig.4 - If not, you f**ked up somewhere ;) - Try again! fig.4 When you have made the brushes, the rest is easy :) First, pick the "Paintbrush Tool" (fig.5) Then pick a bright foreground color (i chose white). fig.5 Pick the first brush you made and click once with it on the layer. (you should make a new layer for this, so you can move the sparkle around later) Your image will now look like fig.6 . Then pick the other 3 brushes, one at the time, and paint once with each of them like in fig.7, fig.8 and fig.9 fig.6 fig.7 fig.8 fig.9 The sparkle is now finished. As a final step you can play with the sparkle and change the color on it or add it to objects. Also you can change the shape of the sparkles and make star-maps or whatever you will =o) Good Luck! fig.10 fig.11
