and opens in one frame and one layer showing index & locked
please help
what to do if i wanted to edit gif?

Send me a link to the.gif you're trying to open if you can so I can try to open it in mine.
It could.be the file type that's an issue. You're trying to open a gif and if the file isn't saved properly or gets corrupted it can be a problem.

^ All PSD's do not work on all Gifs.
Increase the brightness and contrast. Pull on some curves. Then use the PSD. Must work better!

@ marathi mulgi
Try this for me.

Copy your gif file so the original is safe. Keep the original gif file away. Don't do the following on the original.

Then change the file ending on the copied gif to .avi instead of .gif
Then try to do file -> import -> video to layers

That way ps thinks you're opening a video file instead of a gif. You said videos work so that could do something.

Again please do send a link of your gif to me so I can try as well.

I'll look for more solutions for you to try

ok i understood what u r asking
in the first gif the scene has been shot in some low lights...so u need to use a different PSD which is good for dark pictures..
or u can use ur same psd but then u have to select all the layers (&frames) and have to adjust the brightness etc from the filter option...if u cant select all (ctrl+A)the layers together(many beginners find it difficult) then u have to remember what changes u made and then do that to all the layers then apply ur PSD
second method :
u can use a separate pic of this particular scene and try adjusting the brighness and then apply the psd and make that ONE separate psd of ur own and then apply it directly.

Just crop it in a way that the logo is cropped out. If the logo happens to come over a part you don't want to crop (lets say face) then put on some texture to hide it. This is for edits/signatures. Alternatively, you can use the blur, burn or clamp stone tool to do the aid. If you mean gifs, then this is where it gets tricky. 😆

no its not like that
i had made/open/edit/re-edited all gif file before when it was windox xp in cs5
but when windows updated to 7 i had reinstalled cs5 again but now this prob is coming

see this is the gif i had created

https://i.imgur.com/wYe4uii.gif

[/img]

but now its not opening showi error like this

whereas i can open and edit raw gif file in psd extention and all frames/layers can be viewed
this prob is coming with gif saved file or downloaded gif pictures files

I understand somewhat. It's not letting you open a gif as I thought.
Can you save your gif with a name and then .avi at the end instead of .gif

Windows 7 shouldn't be a problem with cs5 eventhough xp is much better.

Can you try that for me just to see what happens.

Ps will always open a .psd file but since your file the gif is saved most likely as a .gif it is causing problems.
