How to use the action I made.

Tarun asked me how to use action I posted. So, here's the simple explanation for it. I'm answering it here as I thought others might find it useful as well. (:

1) Whether you make your gif from pictures (load onto stack) or whether you do it by importing a video, the method of using the action is the same.

2) First load your action. Go to actions palette (F9) -> options -> load actions. Your action will be loaded from the place where you saved it.

3) Prepare your gif, as in, make sure your frames are ready and that they are ordered serial wise i.e, frame 1, frame 2 and so on.

4) You can either apply the action before resizing/cropping your gif or you can apply it after that as well.

5) Whatever the case, make sure your first frame (frame 1) and first layer (layer 1) are selected. And then apply the action. (Select the action from the actions palette and click on the play button)

6) DO NOT delete any frames or layers before applying the action or it won't work. You can delete them if need be after applying the action.

7) Apply your PSD, textures etc once you're done using the action.

PS You need not reverse your frames or do anything else to use the action. Only requirement is that the frames and layers must be ordered.

@husna thanks for the detailed explanation and i did the same way you have mentioned it...😆i googled how to create an action and im confused how to apply the same to every frame/layer😕Then i decided to select each n every frame/layer one after the another upto 150 frames and guess what it took me 45 minutes to complete one action😆itna concentration toh mein apna padai pe bhi nahi diya😆
this is the random gif i made few days ago

Applied My action to the gif

Applied Your Action

Not Much difference between yours and mine as there are little changes in edge sharpness and accent...But still i found yours best one for the gif👍🏼

There is another method in creation your actions as selecting every frame/layer takes lots of time...i found this link while searching how to apply action on multiple layers at a time..
haven't tried but seems like a easy way😆

But what if it is a zip file?

I already know about that blog since its one of my go to place for learning. Why did you have to apply for every frame and layer? 😳 What is the point of using actions if you have to do it manually on each frame and layer? 😆 Actions are used precisely for the purpose of reducing work load. As long as the first frame and first layer of the document is selected/highlighted and the frames and layers are ordered (1, 2, 3 and so on...), the action will go on applying until 120 frames.

Extract the zip file. Right click on the zip file and click on the extract option (this will only work if you have extractor in your computer installed)

2) There is an adjustment layer named pattern fill. There are many patterns there. Choose one, and set it to soft light and adjust opacity according to your wish. The patterns used in this pic are called 'pixel patterns'. You can download them online. Lemme check if i can get you a link. The procedure to load them is same as the procedure how you load brushes😆

panchan, i opened pattern fill but it is empty😕 how can i load the pattern style if i want? In love with the pattern in DDs above pic😆

This is because you're viewing it from mobile. Different screens give different results. When you view it from desktop, it appears in its original state/color but when you view it from mobiles, the appearance gets darker/contrasted and thus the look of too orange in the faces.

thanks husna😳

you can download the patterns from here:

I dont know if this pack contains the exact same pattern used in DD's pic, but it does contain similar ones.
For loading this pattern onto your ps, firstly download and extract the zip file
Goto adjustments>Pattern Fill
Click on the down arrow. On the top right corner of the dropdown you'll find a settings shaped button. Click on it and choose 'Load Patterns'. Select the .pat file of the patterns you have downloaded and say OK. You'll see the patterns loaded. You can choose the pattern you need from the ones loaded and adjust the scale as per requirement. After that say OK. and set the adjustment layer to 'soft light' and adjust opacity as per your wish. And you're done!

I hope you understood. I actually kinda suck at explaining so :P Feel free to ask me if there are any queries.
