Really? I thought the first one looked quite grainy on imgur 😕😆 I have tried million and one times to give up PS-ing altogether. U can say it never works. I keep getting back. I guess I truly love what Im doing on it. I think Ill stick to simple gifs and siggies as well. Complicating myself for those colorful and creative animated stuff isnt really my cup of coffee, unless a rock falls on my head(new idea). We should leave it to ps-ers like Aheli, Aisha and so on. I hope Aheli comes back.

Been there, done that. 😆 That's the thing with PS, once you are bitten with the bug, you can't ever really quit altogether. I personally believe you should keep gif-ing, you do have what it takes be one of those amazing gif-ers and that's because I have seen the kind of stuff you make.😳 Its always a great thing to challenge yourself and keep trying new things and improve. What I meant was to give it a break when you feel you no longer are being productive because when you do it just for the sake of it, the stuff never comes out good enough. I hope she comes back too, I keep going to her gallery and go through her updates when I'm low on inspiration to work on PS.

Use No Dither,yaar. No need of dithering or pattern.

My issue is not being able to color the gifs by myself. I can color it subtly and keep the colors to a minimum. My issue is no matter what I do or what measures I take to control the quality of gifs, they always get degraded upon saving.

Preview the gif in optimized tab before saving. It shows what'll get saved. 😛

^^ These were done in CS6 and then the quality began to decrease more and more somehow. Then Appy suggested me to apply a bw layer and see if I'm still getting grains. But with bw layer on, the quality was miles better.

@Abhishek - Woh bhi try karke dekh liya. I have tried every possible permutation and combination for the SFW settings. Pattern, diffusion, selective, adaptive, perceptual, almost everything. Same results. -_-

I don see much grain in the gifs u posted Husna. Are we are worrying too much? 😕 My sister is laughing her head off 😡 cos she thinks we make it sound like the world is ending.

The one's I did in CS6 didn't have as terrible quality but that was it. Its as if it gave me a chance to do okay to good quality gifs for only couple of gifs and then the quality started degrading horribly. Now when I do it, the quality isn't the same as those (be it CS6 or CS5 extended), had it been I wouldn't have bothered so much. Oh, tell her it is as good as world ending for us. 😆

The way I do GIF's are always the same.

I upload the mp4 Video on Photoshop and
-if I want to select just few frames I DON'T delete ONLY the frames which I don't want.. I EVEN DELETE THE LAYERS... if I don't do it, it reduces the quality. I have checked it.

Before I do anything, I add all the layers to a Group and make the frames as timeline and then and convert the group for smart filter.

Because the Videos are too big for example 1920x1080 etc.. I reduce the size by ---> Image ---> Image Size. I make the Width 500 pixels mostly.

After that I mostly have same sizes of GIF's, so I do select the Selection tool and make it Fixed Size, then I add the size I want and click on the gif and the size pops up itself. So I crop it and place my gif however I want to.

After that I do my Sharpenin stuffs and then put up some colorings.. I try to use very less coloring to make the GIf look normal.

That's it actually.. then I save it..😛
