BLENDING GIFS:

Feeling like its been stoneage time i have done my last tut..🤓.Never mind i am here on demand from Madhura..Madz i hope this helps..😳
As usual my tut's are long,so kindly bear with me.

BLENDING GIFS:

I am assuming u all how to get to GIF Part..?No ?Ok a small summary below:
Open Photoshop..File> import>video frames to layers>select your video from your computer>video will open in popup>using shift select the part of video u want as gif>tick limited frames>ok.

U gif will be opened with layers.Crop & resize as per your choice and remove layer and frames to make it compact and precise.So you have your basic gif.

Open your two gifs which you want to blend as layers.Open you animation
tab..Windows>Animation,to make sure that your gifs are playing nice.
These two below are my bahubali gifs..they each have 15 frames in them.

Make sure u have same number layers in both GIF's...keep it short..may be less than 50
frames.And also start with small sized gifs,eg: i have taken my gif as 200*100 each.So my final product will be 400*100.

Now goto the first gif and in layer box,select any layer>right click and click "select similar
layers",all the layers should be selected.If not select manually.

Then link all layers by clicking right click again >Link layers.U can see a link icon beside
your each layer now showing that all your layers are linked.

For our easy access and movement,we will create a group.Click on "Create a New Group"

and then select all layers and drag then in to the folder..rename it as gif 1 if you want.

Do it for the other gif too..Now you will have two groups.

Then open a new document-400*400,this will be your final document.

In animation tab there will be only one frame.Using duplicate button make 15 frames,the same as gif's frames.

Fill the bottom layer with solid color to give a base,here i have used black color..now we need
to copy those two gifs into this.

Goto first gif..then in Animation tab..using dropdown button,click on select all frames.

Then again click on copyframe.

Now goto your new document and using dropdown button again click on "Paste frames".

You will get a pop-up box..use these choice.Paste over selection and then make sure-Link Added Layers box is ticked.U have already linked your layers,but still check that box.

This is how it should appear now.

Now repeat same with second gif-select all frames>copy frames from second gif and goto new document>paste all frames.

By default it will be pasted on left side.You can simply move it using mouse /V - Move tool to
the right side..

Two gifs are placed side by side and will play..

U can add coloring psd,pattern,text at this point..or after it will not make a change so i added
coloring psd

and pattern.

Now comes the actual moment of blending..there are two ways.

FIRST WAY:

Make sure ur on first frame before you work.

My simple trick is create new layer on top of these gifs and take a soft brush or any
brush..here i have used SPATTER - 14 pixel brush and draw at place where two gifs meet very precisely and slowly to hide the line.Its blended.

Now add brush,text and anyother layers u want.Make sure that these layers like text,brushes and pattern are unifyied..that is it is same as in the other frames.See UNIFY.And your gif will be done.

SECOND WAY:

U can simply overlap your second gif on your first gif..or you can just overlap a little bit and
crop or anyother way you want to arrange your gifs arrange them.

I moved my second gif to left side and using transform tool..tilted both.

Click on "Add layer Mask" button..to the both group folders in layer box.U can see a white mask getting added.

Then goto blending mode and change it to lighten,or any which is suitable.U can also simply skip this step.But this is nice for blending.

How to blend?Use BLACK as foreground color and use a soft brush,hardness=0%,size according to the gif size.then goto you second gif and simply use the brush a eraser...u can see the gifs are blended.

This step is simply a trial and error,u can erase/mask on both gifs and blend them..u can always take your foreground color as white and undo what you have erased..its just masked - not deleted.

This is how my blended gif looks.

After you are satisfied with it,play it once and your gif is done.

Now is time to add stuff on top of it.

I used a solid layer below my gifs and using eraser erased all parts,leaving the color cover my black background.Now add color,texture..or whatever..and you are done.

U can also increase you canvas size and do a siggy on top of it..to get a animated signature.

Make sure the timing and loop is correct.

Then save the gif as per your settings.These are mine.Preview in browser before saving..And you are finally done.

Guys all the tutorials and resources that are shared here can be even more uses if there's only an index page so that one doesn't have to peruse through 78 pages for one particular tut or resource.
