I only got to see a half of it, but no, it was very very difficult for them to get out of it....i got to see part of one case, in which they did part and according to the program never met again. I only saw the mans side of it and I don't think he felt guilt but he missed her something terrible...his love or her was so intense,I'm not sure he will be able to really stay away for ever. Iin the other case, they tried to part, but couldn't. They then moved away to another place, and have had 2 kids. According to the program, theirs is a normal and happy household apart from all this. And, apparently, the people in the village have also found out, but have accepted it. In this case, no-one feels guilty.
The fact that sia felt bad for only one program is due mainly to the way it is made. That can be a criticism on the directing and not the character portrayed. It's quite common in indian programs in particular, but programs everywhere, that sometimes they do tend to go through situations in a "fast forward" way...we just have to accept it.
I think the fundamental difference between the sia-abhi incidence, as well as the contents of the program, is that the people affected did NOT initally know they were blood relations. Hence, it is less gross. Whereas some of the examples mentioned in this thread are incest...I know the former is as well, but it started out in total ignorance...
