I have said this before and I will say this again, the amount of love and
hardships and everything in between that Abhi and Simran have shared
through the years are proof of their love alone. They really do not need a
peice of paper to prove that. Simran and Abhi both have in the past
defied the norms of society and I dont think that they wanted to get
married only because of what society would say. They wanted to get
married for themselves. They wanted to give a name to the relationship
that they shared. What is the harm in that? As far as the timing of their
marraige, as sree has mentioned they ASKED Astha. If Astha really had an
objection she should have stated it clearly. She doesnt really have a
problem saying what she feels like, why start acting coy now?

The next issue people seem to have is why get married in colorful
clothes. Just because they are old it does not mean that they do not have
the right to celebrate. They have a cause for celebration. They are getting
married after so many years of yearning for one another. Why should they
pretend to be subdued? There is no shame in expressing your joy. Both
Abhi and Simran have the right to express that. Why do we assume that
once you cross a certain age you cannot or should not behave in a certain
way. You live once and so should try and live each moment of your life as
of it were your last. It doesnt matter if you are 5 or 50 you should enjoy
every moment and every experience. So why should Abhi and Simran not
celebrate their union.

As far as what scorpio said why do we assume that parents should
sacrifice alll their joy and happiness for their children? Why should we
expect Abhi and Simran to put their lives on hold until Astha comes
around? Havent they tried enough? Children have a responsibility
towards their parents too. If it is the duty of every parent to ensure their
children's happiness teh other way around is true too. Simran has tried
her best to give Astha every happiness and joy, yes she has hidden stuff
from Astha, but her intentions were always good. She always wanted the
best for her Astha, is'nt it time that Astha does something for her
mothers happiness.

Sree, Frosty,

You have said, what I wanted to say... I have no problems in seeing the couple get married.. I just wish they waited... but again, how long can they wait? I had said in my previous post - x months.. but 'x' is going to be different for you and me..

What so SO wrong in getting married in colourful, zing bang clothes...the first time, the marriage was a court marriage, the last time they tried was also through a court marriage and now they are doing it the traditional way.

Marriage is an occaision of celebration.. what is wrong in using colour, the very environment of marriage brings happiness and cheer... let them atleast have that after 20 odd years of separation.
