I think aashta acts terrible, right from day one.How did ajai sinha chose such a character, who just can't act.She can't even speak good english.Look at her english accent.

She was looking ok in India's best but not fit for tv serials.same with divya.thank god she got killed.otherwise,we would have another terrible actress.Sid is doing a good job for a new comer.

but chitra my views r totally opposite than urs..to me yuvika is doing justice to her role of a spoiled adopted daughter & crazy lover & to me sid is not doing well...he cannot even know how to express his grief over certain things & cannot react to the situations well.

hii

Sid is not that bad a actor.I agree,he cannot do the emotional scenes well but men don;t look good when they cry and men look funny,so Sid is ok that way.He can manage to do the emo scenes. He is not able to do it the best way but he is not very bad either. For a 1st time actor,he is defi good compared to that monkey aastha.I think aastha has slightly improved over the weeks.Initially, even my 13 year old son used to imitate aastha, making a monkey like face, when she says..NANU....

I think sid acts much better then Yuvika...i agree he cannot emote well...but thats fine atleast he does not oveact unlike yuvika ......Gosh when ever she's comes on screen........i just want to change the channel.....i think i just cannot take her anymore.........Astitva is one of the best serial at present with some really good actors doing the serial ........so atlaest i think the producers shud acknowledge its standard & look for some good replacements.

Hi Chitra,

Welcome to the forum!

I agree with you that even in real life, men do look funny when they cry. Whether Abbas is better or Yuvika is a matter of personal choice and expectation.

Now my thoughts.......

We have this image of tough guys who don't cry easily.Maybe the director has failed to get the right expression from the actors. Why does Sid have to sob and talk like that? There have been several scenes in the serial in which men have cried but they have been death scenes or very very sad situations and the actors have emoted extemely well.

I believe that men can be emotional too and they are not sissy if they show their feelings or even shed a few tears.

In my opinion Yuvika has done her role well. She is supposed to play a brat who gets on peoples nerves. She is spoilt, overconfident and arrogant to a an extent and has portrayed that image very well.

As far as looks are concerned, ALL of us expect the actors in lead roles in Indian cinema and TV to be very beautiful /handsome.Unless they give outstanding performances they are not accepted for their ordinary looks.

But then Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, what say friends???

Cheers,

Akshata

i totally agree with you Akshata. There are many times on screen and off screen where men portay grief, depression, sadness through tears. it is not impossible, and doesn't make them look sissy.

Don't take me wrong Chitra Anand, Abbas is a good actor but he can't express grief and can't even sob properly. just take Salman Khan for example. He is a good actor, but lets face it, HE CANNOT CRY!

I just feel that for such a serial, where expressing emotions create the atmosphere on the screen, Abbas wasn't the best choice. But i don't agree with switching the actor mid-way either. There must have been some kind of contract involoved.

i agree with Chitra annand!...

In india's best Yuvika looked so pretty... and acted quite well too... in Astitva shes's so different..
dunno y? All her scenes seem like over..

mayb Ajai Sinha has just been nice- giving new people a chance to work with him!

Siddhant's acting is good... not over n all... only the crying is tough for him i guess! rest he suits the role of a doctor.. hes got tht serious and matured kinda face!

yes na420,

I agree with you.Poor sid can't express just the emo scenes that well but otherwise he is a good actor, esp as a new comer, much better than any other new comer, defi better than aastha.

Look at the new comer OM IN PIYA KA GHAR.he is horrible and needs to improve not only his acting but also his terrible english. His acting is so unnatural.
