Simran goes on asking about Aastha and eventually since nobody takes her to see her, she decides to go on her own. She fumbles her way around the hospital and goes to the room no. that Urmila had told her Aastha was in. she finds someone else in the room and there is utter chaos. Everyone runs to her and Sid even tells her that Aastha's room has been changed. However, Abhi buts in and tells Simran that Aastha is no more. She is shocked and almost collapses on the floor. She accuses Abhi and everyone else for not revealing the truth to her. Simran is again under medication. Eventually Saurabh tells her that he had told everyone not to tell her about Aastha since he didn't want her condition to worsen. Simran accepts this and they then perform the last rites for Aastha. Simran says that Aastha is not dead and will continue to live amidst them forever.

Simran tries to manage the daily routine on her own but fails miserably. Abhi constantly helps her out. Rashmi and Pranay come back and are grieved to hear of the turn of events. Abhi longs for Simran to dress up just as she used to earlier and rashmi helps her to drape a sari and look fresh again. Sia decides to change her name to Aastha and has got it legalized too. She makes an announcement at home saying that this way, Aastha;s name would never die and would always remain alive in this house. This touches Simran.

Sia tries to make Simran comfortable about the fact that she can see no more. She tells Simran to try and call her Aastha. Rashmi feels that she should stay back instead of going back to Indore and be with Simran. Pranay understands and respects her decision. Simran overhears Urmila telling Saurabh that patients are backing out of their registrations at the hospital when they find out that Simran is no longer practicing there. She is disturbed and leaves the house one morning, leaving a note behind saying that she is worthless and hence has left the house.
