Hi Dianne,
I do agree with some of the things you say.Wish it had some more humor.I'm sure Mr.Ajai Sinha is capable of providing subtle, intelligent humor.

After all we watch television for entertainment and so much tragedy all packed into one serial is too much.
If Mr.Sinha knew exactly how long this serial is going to last, then he would have perhaps continued to have a good story line. This uncertainity has definitely affected the quality of the script.I do understand the need for twists in the story line to revive the interest of the viewers but do they always have to be so tragic with Simran?
But when I reflected on this thought I came to the conclusion that it is very often such tragic events that turn our lives completely.

So lets hope the makers of this serial take note of all the ideas and suggestions made by it's esteemed viewers and make the serial watchable for another year,is that it??
Cheers

Well, I'd like to add one more thing:

The soap just seems so unrealistic...Simran can spare so much time for her family when she is supposed to be a world- famous gynac... 😆 she looks like she is so free...

And Abhi has so many problems...when does he ever get time to write his books?? Tak about world- famous authors...

Also, Simran's saris disturb me a lot...they are always the same pattern, same design....quite annoying!! 😳

😆😆😆 well said. being a doctor she does seem to have a lot of time.

you are right on the money about her saris. I will hate to see my closet filled with same pattern clothes..just with different color. how boring is that?

Very well said Dianne.

I agree with you on the tragedy overload thing. Simran and the rest of the people were already sad due to Astha's beahviour and then when she finally comes back BAAM..the director had to kill her and make Simran blind. I really wish they showed atleast some humor in the serial. It is not what it started in the beginning.

I really feel sad at the pathetic state of Indian soaps where the only way it can go on and on is by causing more pain and suffering to the main protagonists.

And yeah I am bored of Simran's sarees too. If a 55 yr old woman can look young, can she wear be wearing something else other than the plain sarees. 😕

O.K i personally prefer this show to many other nonsence they pass off as entertainment on Sony !! But i agree with you that its a bit of tragedy over load . BUT ....a big BUT it kind of seems the basic idea behind most soaps these days . The main character has tragedies over load - Kusum , Jassi , Simran , Tulsi Virani ,And Parvati from KGGK, others i may not know of !!

This is an excellent topic. And some intelligent and humorous answers too 😆

I loved this one:

1 overdrama
2 unrealistic situations
3 No one looks their age except grandparents.
4 Sia and her whole personality...she should have born in 16th century.
5 Sid...why couldn't they find another guy to play that role
6 Sid's mom had no role in the show. All she does is walk around with an empty file or makes tea and give it to sid.
7 Yes simran's saris and getting dull. I think she will look too fat in a suit...that's why director is sticking with thin sheer saris.

😆

And it's so true.

I know a family where they had a tripple tragedy within a space of 2 years, with the father passing away from a heart attack, the 18 year old son dying in a freak road accident the follwing year, and the son in law committing suicide the same year, reason unknown to any of us ( it was a love marriage, an inter caste one) leaving behind a 23 year old widow and a 1-1/2 year old son.

However, it has been about 18 years now and they are getting on well with their lives. The daughter did her MBA soon after and is now working in a highly paid job with an MNC,got married again to a very nice man 12 years ago and they have a 10 year old daughter who too is doing very well in school. Her 20 year old son from the earlier marriage is studying medicine abraod after having won a scholarship ( he has bonded amazingly with his step father and shares a very close relationship with him ), and the mother is pretty healthy even now , though she never could recover fully from the shock of her young son's death.

Tragedies do happen, but they do not span a life forever, there has to be some good things that happen as well. A concept that has been completely alien to Dr Simran's life. Ever since she got married to Abhi, there has not been a single year of undiluted or complete happiness in her life. And it is not even one single event, but a series of totally unrelated tragic events which have taken place in a space of few years. She has seen everything in one short life that all of us in this forum haven't seen all put together. Death of the near ones by dozens, infidelity, loose a child not once but twice, divorce, multiple marriages, kidnapping, murder, bomb blast, conspiracy, remarriage, court cases, jail term of a friend, lost and found not one but two people, became a handicap ( I am sure I have forgotten a few others)........Ajay Sinha seems to be in a race to pack in as many tragedies as inhumanly possible into one single serial.......That is what that makes it so unrealistic.

Thats true life is not that full sorrows. God always gives some happiness. Dr.Simran is just being like god's biggest enemy. Thats why god hates her I believe. Director should think about his story line.

What really bugs me about this serial is the fact that MR. Sinha seems to
think that children are interchangable. When Simran lost Astha, Abhi
asked her to take care of Gudiya and they renamed her Astha. Well ok
may be in some way that made sense, I was not that thrilled about the
idea even then, but now so soon after Astha has died in a tragic accident,
suddenly Sia changes her name. I find that concept DISGUSTING. You
cannot handle tragedy like that. If I was the mother I would have refused
to let my daughter change her name. I would want to remember my dead
daughter and grieve for her. But I would also like to be given a chance for
closure. How are parents supposed to say goodbye to a child when there
is someone with the same name that they see everyday. Children are NOT
replaceable. I mean Sia saying that Astha will always be with SImran. YES
she will be with SImran, in her memories. Simran raised Astha. Astha was
teh only family that Simran had for 18 years. You cannot substitute all of
that by a name change. And doesnt Sia have her own identity? What the
HELL was Ajai SInha thinking???

Another thing that annoys me is the fact that Sia is always acting like a
forty year old. Dazzling flower I completely agree with you about Sid's
mom, but well Abhi's mom pretty much does the same thing. These days
all she does is hug Sia when Sia cries.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that the entire Simran goes blind track is
really bugging the hell out of me. Can something in this serial NOT be
about Simran for once. Astha died isnt that a HUGE tragedy in itself. Can
you imagine someone losing an 18 year old. That would be enough to
devastate the family. It really seems to be like Astha's death was put on
the back burner beacuse he wanted to show that double tragedy has
struck Simran. Please Mr. Sinha let me tell you that NO tragedy can match
upto a child's death. And yes I know that you (Sinha) only want your TRPs
but you would have got them if you had bothered to deal with Astha's
death properly
