Hi Vvrsun.. Congratulations on being the member of the week.. ๐Ÿ‘ Wish you all the best with answering the questions.. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Aparna... I like your name.. What does it mean?
One of your hobbies is languages.. What languages do you speak?

You are 18, do you think Astha reacted logically to the different situations she faced, discovering the truth, treating Simran badly..etc? What are the things you feel she was right in, and things she wasn't?

This is for now, I'll be back with more questions. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Many thanks for the honor sree! I start off with the easy ones!
Username: vvrsun
Name: Aparna (remember the firt avatar? that's me!)
Age: 18 (for another week!)

How...IF: I had signed up with yahoo!groups to help my mom read updates for Astitva; then googled my way into IF, as I somehow was not fascinated with the updates there. Got hooked.

What I like about IF: A forum for the fairer sex! The friendliest forum I've ever been a member of. I also like the way the administrators respond promptly to the users' problems, in spite of their busy schedules: I don't think this is their full-time job!

Explaining my hobbies is gonna take forever! My dad introduced me to the Beatles, rock and jazz; my mom is a carnatic singer with a beautiful voice, but sings at private functions only. At school (in the US) I had the choice of choir, band or orchestra, and chose the last. I had absolutely no idea how to hold a violin, but with my parents' support and encouragement, soon became good enough to get to be the first violin, and got chosen for the state championship. And I learnt carnatic violin in the US, and have given performances in my State, teach small kids. Music is my first love. I'll talk more about it later!

Literature is another thing I picked up from my dad and his side of the family....

Can I continue later please? ...gotta go!

To continue from where I left off ....

I read whatever PG wodehouse I can get my hands on, and there's not much of it in the public libraries here in the US. I am cathcing up on the old classics like Jane Austen, Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), and modern authors like Stephen King (yes!, my dad's influence). As I said I can go on and on, but have to get through all the questions!

I learnt Spanish and German in school, after coming to the US and lived in Mumbai (place of birth), Pune and Surat for some time. So I had to do Marathi and Gujarati in school in India. I would like to think I am quite fluent in Spanish and not so much in German.

I am a second degree reiki practitioner and I like to help people.

I've written several articles for children's magazines in India about life in the US as seen by me. Now to other fans' questions!

Hello Aparana
For an 18 year old, I think your posts have been very matured. I did not ever think you are 18 yrs old. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘

My initial set of questions:
1.Have you had the chance of schooling in India? If so, can you give me the pros and cons of the system that hit your mind first.
2. What are your career goals? Now that you doing your Masters from Kelly.

Bye
Vazz

Thanks princie!
Aparna... I like your name.. What does it mean?
It is one of the names of Shakti, Parvati. Do you know it was chosen by my brother! (current avatar)

One of your hobbies is languages.. What languages do you speak?
English, Hindi, Tamil, Spanish, some Gujju and Marathi and German

You are 18, do you think Astha reacted logically to the different situations she faced, discovering the truth, treating Simran badly..etc? What are the things you feel she was right in, and things she wasn't?
I think she reacted (emotionally) more than responded to situations. May not have been entirely logical from a third person's perspective

This is for now, I'll be back with more questions. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Is that a compliment? Somebody, seeing my first avatar, said I resembled Sia!

My initial set of questions:
1.Have you had the chance of schooling in India? If so, can you give me the pros and cons of the system that hit your mind first.
I've been to India twice. First thing I felt was people followed 'rules' in the US, are more friendly and outgoing than in India.

2. What are your career goals? Now that you doing your Masters from Kelly.
I wanted to do Fashion Technology, my counselors advised me to take Spanish as a major, but after a lot of discussion with parents and friends and relatives, decided to do Business Management. I'll probably do an MBA after I graduate. My ultimate goal is a CEO of a multinational!

Bye
Vazz

On and off - Tumhari Disha (whenever I have to record it for my parents!), but read vidya's updates regularly, the serial is a real drag!

I like(ed) Astitva because it is a family story (unlike other serials which deal with revenge and horror, which I get a lot of in the American serials anyway!). It deals with contemporary teenage problems, marriage problems and so on. I can watch it with my parents without embarrassing them!

You are right. Astitva was realistic to begin with. Have you tried watching Kashish and rabba Ishq Na Hove? You may like them? I agree with you TD has become a drag. BTW, I agree with Vazz that your posts are very level headed and mature for an 18 year old. I never imagined you were a teenager - going by your posts! And I mean that as a compliment ๐Ÿ˜†
