Hiii guyzz, recently i'm so into a show that I couldn't stop myself from posting about this show here.

Ask Laftan Anlamaz is a Turkish show and ofc turkey is a eurasian country but its considered an Asian as 90% of the land lies in Asia. We all do know that Fatmagul (famous internationally) is a turkish show but I couldn't watch it yet and so decided to try this show which is available on yt. Someone's siggies attracted me as the leads are super attractive and its my 1st weakness in leading me to spend hours in watching a show.

Male lead - Burak Deniz
Female Lead - Hande Ercel

I'm warning you that there's nothing special or new in this show, I actually found it quite fascinating that their emotions and body language are similar to us Indians, this is the reason I was drawn to K-dramas and may be now to the turkish ones. Its the same old story of identity disguise of FL for her job where ML is the stern boss, obvious vamp is the 2nd FL who was once in a relationship with ML. the leads eventually fall in love and FL's identity gets exposed, ML marries her in anger but not in haste as he has no other way out, FL's family insists her to marry off to someone else... ML has got mother issues, step-mom issues, FL's cute friends and their individual love-stories with ML's friend and step-brother. Isn't everything so cliched!! But what really attracted me is that everything is so beautiful, cinematography, actors, bg score... I just loved all the technicalities and I'm oh so enjoying the most obvious plotline once again.

There's one drawback to this show as there're 31 episodes and each one of around 2 hours, uff so long. You can watch only the leads scenes compiled by someone on yt as Hayat & Murat scenes (HayMur) (I'm sorry to say that those videos are made unavailable in India now). Watch few scenes and do come back here to give out your review.

I forgot to mention my favourite character of the show, no prizes for guesses, its Tuval, I have always loved such a fun character be it Choi Si Won's in She Was Pretty or Uday in Miley Jab Hum Tum and Tuval's role fit my idea of entertainment perfectly. She's the in-house fashion designer of Sarte (ML's family business), also a well-wisher of everyone and mainly a cupid for our leads. I loved all her costumes too. I found myself looking forward to the next designer piece she would be wearing. The actress "Demet Gul" did a wonderful job.

EDITED - I'm confessing in my own post that ALA is no longer on my watchable series right after watching my next turkish dramas - Fatmagul, Kara Para Ask and Ask Yeniden. I understood why ALA show was ended abruptly, it is below the usual standards and trp's were too less. The present running show of Engin, Olene Kadar is also a good one.

I don't get why everyone's going gaga over ALA when there are way better Turkish dramas that have really been amazing. The leads are attractive no doubt & got nice chemistry. But the story went around in circles so much. IMO it is the turkish version of IPK & IPK was a show I disliked. Both are damn annoying. I really really don't get where & why the sudden hype for ALA came from.

I've seen a lot of Turkish dramas over the years & they have very nice cinematography, stunning leads, great fashion sense in general.

I would recommend Asi. That is one rare show that got love/hate right, amidst all the other language dramas I have watched. If you love Pride & Prejudice, you will love Asi. One of my favourites not just among Turkish shows but in general. Highly highly recommended!

Maybe because its my 1st turkish show, the way people still like BOF over many other better ones... thanx for the recommendation, I'll try to watch it after Kiralik Ask... I'm in the process of getting some recommendations through various siggies of IF'ians.

Din't you find his series a lot better than IPK!! ML actually respects FL's decisions and values her despite her faults and his extreme anger issues. By the time I wrote this post I was at ep 10 but now I'm at 24 and I actually like the ML. He isn't an asshole like ASR and isn't dictating FL s the usual ML's. I also liked the way he's caring for his mom who actually doesn't deserve any of it. I guess ML's character is the one which everyone liked so much.

Kiralik Ask is nice only for the first 14 episodes or so & after that it becomes damn messy.

Yeah ALA is many people's first Turkish drama sadly. Agree that it is better than IPK in terms of having lighter, redeemable characters. Its also lighter in general compared to most Turkish dramas hich are very angsty & passionate.

finally a post for ALA in asian forum...amulya i think i knw u frm kyy forum.. and ayechavanni frm zindagi ki mehak😆
coming to dis show... i had very not-s-good impression abt turkish shows aftr wathing feriha... da fl ,ml nd their chemistry was so blah for my taste...so i was kinda surprised wen i realized the vm i watched of haymur couple was from a turkish show. I strtd watching the show aftr finding a FB page that provided subtitles... nd was very surprised that it was nthn like i have thought it to b. I fell in love with the visuals...nd everything seemed so fresh though the story was not new and predictable. I was total latto over the male lead😆 i totally liked it till episode 9-10 i think...nd later on i was just catching up haymur scenes on youtube...

The good: the leads...dey r extremely hawt...nd they have dis comfort level which i don't think i have seen in any on-screen couple off late...dey do kiss scenes and all sorts of romantic scenes with ease... they have electrifying chemistry...
my personal fav is murat keeps nuzzling hayat in most of rom scenes... at times i used to wonder if it was part of script or not😆 i even strtd shipping them offscreen... bt got to knw both r happy with their resp partners..lol

for eg...dis scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxg6ilz8OJQ

The bad: story is big tym👎🏼 i felt dey hv watched few ekta and gul dramas nd made their own turkish version... female lead's acting was not upto the mark... most of the times her dialogues wud make zero sense to me...and though she was good in doin rom onscreeen.. i could never understand or stan her character in show.. male lead was good and will surely look fwd to his other dramas...

The worst: dey had actors who were extremely comfortable doin scenes... dey shud hv written a logical and heart fluttering love story... bt alas all v got was zero character development.. zero progress in their love... da couple had no trust...no communication... only lust was probably there.. frankly speaking der was no love seeing the way dey kept taking turns to fight with each other

But yeah murat was smitten by her in first few episodes...nd there was some intensity btw dem... i loved their beach scene the most... ( i think it was bday celebration scene)
hayat was also good in dat... her expressions nd everything was on-mark... nd i guess it was their first kiss then...bt aftr dat epi the show went haywire nd i stick with only random murat-hata scenes on yt😊

The hilarious: their so called fashionable dressing😆 i felt in order to look fashionable or trendy the designers over did it... nd ending up making hilarious fashion disasters

Finally..someone did make a post about this show...Thank You!! I loved this show...absolutely!!

It might be cliched for some...predictable...but i have always believed that all tales starting from the ancient days to today, are cliched...be it the Bard's Romeo Juliet or Hamlet or any of the oldest tales from any culture or country of the world.. sometimes its not the story...but the way its told. And that's why story telling is an art...

Nothing might be new in this show...but I still relished it to the core!! What made it work for me...several factors...

The lead couple's chemistry for one...it seemed natural and not forced. Found them refreshing, not to mention hot!! I have watched tons of shows for years...but can honestly say that have rarely come across such a good looking and well matched couple...it worked for me!! They did set the screen on fire quite a few times...
Another factor that totally worked in its favor was the relationship between the characters...most of the characters have their own stories...other charecters are not only well developed...but there is a progression too in their characters...its not only the leads that dictate the show...secondary characters have space and importance in the story too...everyone brings something to the table. I found each story had its unique flavor...each character had a lovable contribution..

Overall it is a feel good show...a happy, chirpy sunshiny show...where all relations have a place..be it a grandfather or a mother...best friends or colleagues, brothers or bosses...loved all the characters...heck even the grandparents have a love story...😆😉

So...again its all about personal preferences...it worked for me...might not for others...!! You will always find a fan in me as far as ALA goes...
