About Kang Chul not loving FL, and vice-versa, do they have to say 'I love you' to prove that they love each other? The numerous occasions when both FL and ML risked their own lives to save each other isn't that a proof that they love each other?
Of-course, you can have your own opinion, everybody has their own preferences. At least give credit to the writer for attempting something beyond typical rom-com. They deserve that!

I do know the genre of the drama, and I am not expecting the typical rom com set up or sudden ILUs. I am infact expecting the opposite and found few scenes a bit too cheesy. As I said I have only watched till episode 6 and we were just discussing that the bond between leads at that point did not seem strong enough to forgive Kang Chul easily for shooting the father of FL. Not finding a particular part convincing doesnt mean that I hate the complete show or would stop watching it.

And I did in fact praise the team for attempting a novel concept in an interesting way for most parts.

@incandescent: I agree that W is plot driven, rather than character driven. And they are doing a good job for most of the part considering that its an unusual genre. Romance in second part is more realistic? That gives me hope. I am also looking forward to more thriller elements as W's nemesis has already made his entry.

So it focuses more the plot rather than the emotional changes of the characters. You can split their love-story in two parts. The first eight episodes or so primarily focus on YJ's feelings and it's more fairy-tale like because KC is technically her fantasy come true...and they spend majority of their time in the webtoon world. The second half focuses on KC feelings. It's his turn to fall in love, and this time around KC spends more time in the real world...and this is where they go for their first proper date.

If the first half is fairy tale romance, the second half is more realistic romance. And not all couples have to go through all the stages the same way...some people do date or get married before first. I don't think KC was completely in love during the first half...I think his feelings deepened with time...the same goes for YJ...and the show jumps time. The timeline of the two worlds in also not the same. 30 minutes or a day in the real world can be equivalent to months or even a year...so they've had plenty of time.

@Bold : I agree with this...bcoz I was telling my frnd (offline) about how I am connecting to 2nd time romance rather than 1st time...1st time I found it fast and unrealistic (IMO) now many ppl may like it but I didn't (anyways I am not much lover of fairy-tales😛) . Also I felt FL more mature after memory loss of KC 😊 For me to enjoy drama it is very important to connect with characters and their emotions. But I do think W is the good show with novel concept and giving answers to every plot ...This is the only show of 2016 that I am watching.

Kang Chul Oppa is finally going to confess. Yay. I hope it's a Happy ending in every way...no separation, no deaths. I am not worried about KC or YJ dying..It's dad that I am worried about dad. YJ and KC can't have a proper happy ending if something goes wrong with dad. Dad deserves his happy ending too. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hats off to your patience, I didn't have it in me to wait that long. I loved episode 15 it had a bit of everything. I am keeping hope alive about a happy ending, it is what KC and YJ have been determined to have and I just don't see YJ giving up. From the start of the show we have seen YJ be a fighter and she will surely try every means possible to have her happy ending and fix whatever has happened with her father.

@Bold, I completely agree with you here. I think this is why I have enjoyed their pairing even more after he lost his memory, there is more depth and understanding from KC when it comes to YJ.

Exactly what seems like a short amount of time technically is not if you take into account what happens in KC's world, months go by or in the most recent case an entire year went by before they saw each other again so it does make sense.

I love this whole show, the chemistry between the leads is amazing. I think I ship han hyo joo and lee jong suk
sidenote- have any of you seen secret garden? Lee jong suk played a supporting role there. He was a great actor even then and had such a unique choice in characters

It is hard not to ship them especially when you watch their IVs and BTS, they are so adorable!

I haven't seen LJS previous shows but tempted to start, he's such a talented actor.

What does W' stand for? answers 'W' author

image

Scriptwriter of MBCs fantasy TV series "W" revealed what the single letter meant on Monday.

The author Song Jae-jung gave two explanations.

The first explanation Song gave was that "W" stands for "who" and "why," as they are the two key questions Kang Chul is seeking to answer after his family was assassinated. Kang is played by actor Lee Jong-suk.

Song also explained that "W" means "Wonder World," especially from surgeon Oh Yeon-joos perspective. Oh, played by actress Han Hyo-joo, abruptly enters the bittersweet world of the Webtoon that her father created, like Alice in "Alice in Wonderland."

The revelation came as she announced that she will release the scripts in their entirety on the MBCs bulletin board Monday.

W-Two Worlds To Be Renewed For Season 2?

The tremendous success of MBC's W-Two Worlds has already led to the speculations of the sequel of the Korean drama. Helmed by director Jung Dae-Yoon, the show's finale episode is all set to entertain the audience on September 14. The show's nearing end has created a wave of anticipation amongst fans as they are already expecting a second installment.

Nothing much has been discussed W-Two Worlds season 2 yet. But, the fan following of the show might definitely push the makers to consider season 2. Even if a formal announcement about the show is made by the end of 2016, the second season will be premiered only in late 2017. Talking about the possible star cast of the much anticipated season, the viewers would love to see Lee Jong-Suk and Han Hyo-Joo back in their original roles.

As of now, Jong-Suk and Hyo-Joo play the lead characters namedKang Chul and Oh Yeon-Joorespectively. The fans would surely expect the actors to reprise their roles for the second season. However, nothing much can be said about the supporting cast. Interestingly, the finale episode will play a significant part in part in deciding the fate of the show's second installment.

The show is expected to end on a positive note and the finale might have some of the most intimate scenes between the lead actors. Another enthralling news for the fans is that they will get to see an extra episode of W-Two Worlds even after the finale. This extra episode will air on Saturday, September 17.

Just like the fans, the stars of this series too will miss the show for sure. It was recently when Han Hyo Joo expressed her feelings on the show's closure on Instagram.

"I hate to part with Oh Yeon Joo, say this isn't goodbye," the caption read.

He was awesome in SG. That's where I first saw him and have following his work ever since. I don't really like that show but I loved his character. He was fairly new to acting at that time and still managed to stand out.

Finally saw ep 15. It was so good. The actor playing SM is brilliant. He deserves an award for this role. Love how portrayed two different characters and all the various shades...obsessive writer, caring dad, mindless killer and finally a helpless man full of guilt over things he couldn't control. He made me tear up in epi.

Yeon Joo-ah, find a way to save your both your dad and hubby, arasso?

The final episode is set to air today, I am not ready to say goodbye to this show. It has been so good, I don't blame fans for wanting more especially when you have leads with such chemistry, just watch their latest behind the scenes video and you fall in love with them even more.

The director of this show has given his cast awards, well I know the leads got and the actor who plays Yeon Joo's father. It is well deserved, such a talented cast deserves recognition. I am hoping it is just the beginning.

There were pictures from the wrap up party, Soo Bong finally met Soo Hee! They look so cute together.

I saw some pictures which lead me to speculate that Yeon Joo may shoot her father in W and try to save his life in the real world. I am not sure, that is just my guess. I'm really excited to see how they end W and how everything comes together.
