Beautiful update dear 🙂
Just loved it 🤗
Well I really appreciate that Arjun is extra concious of Riya recovery & inspite of his tough exterior the internal softness comes out beautifully in his character
Team is sharp to notice this & now they are teasing Riya for being favourite of Arjun & it makes her quite embarrassed
Even old lost friendship of Sam & Arjun were also asked by the team but they overlooked ... & Last bit was really cute 🥺 the softest of the toughest was adorable 😻
Thanks for the Tag 🙂
Keep writing ✍️
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! 😊 I'm so glad you enjoyed the update and noticed the subtle layers in Arjun's character. His tough exterior with that underlying softness is one of my favourite aspects to explore, and I'm thrilled it resonated with you. As for Sam and Arjun’s old bond, it’s a little thread I’m weaving in slowly—it’ll unfold more in the coming parts. Thank YOU for always sharing your thoughts so beautifully—it means the world to me! I’ll keep writing, and I hope you keep enjoying. 💖

Part 3
The next day, Riya is in the break room, trying to steal a few moments of peace as she sips on her coffee. Her eyes are fixed on the mug in her hands, still lost in thought, when she hears footsteps approaching. She doesn’t have to look up to know it’s Arjun. The quiet intensity of his presence is unmistakable.
"Riya," Arjun’s deep voice cuts through the silence. "You’re still looking pale. You should be getting more rest." His tone is as calm as ever, but there’s something more to it today. Maybe it’s the subtle concern hidden beneath his words, or maybe it’s just that Riya has started noticing things she hadn’t before.
Riya looks up, startled. "Arjun sir, I’m fine. Really."
Arjun doesn’t reply right away. He simply stands there, his eyes scanning her face, the usual coldness replaced with a hint of curiosity. He crosses his arms, leaning slightly against the doorframe. "You know, the longer you push yourself, the longer it’ll take for you to get back on your feet. You’ve got to be careful."
Riya feels herself blush at his concern. She doesn’t know why, but his words always seem to affect her more than they should. Maybe it’s the way he says them, or maybe it’s just Arjun being Arjun. Whatever it is, it makes her heart flutter in an entirely unfamiliar way.
"I’m... I’m just trying to get things done, Arjun sir," she stammers, her fingers nervously tightening around her coffee mug.
Arjun watches her for a moment, his gaze softening ever so slightly. He then straightens up, his usual stoic mask returning. "Fine. But don’t forget, even superhumans need rest." There’s a ghost of a smirk on his lips, but he quickly suppresses it, turning to leave.
As Arjun walks away, Riya can’t help but feel the heat rise to her cheeks. Superhumans? The comment lingers in her mind, and she’s left standing there, embarrassed by how easily he could unsettle her.
A few days later, Riya finds herself in the elevator with Arjun. It’s late in the evening, the office empty except for the two of them. Riya has just finished an exhausting day of paperwork, and Arjun, as always, has been handling everything with his usual precision and calm.
The elevator dings, and they step inside. Riya is trying to focus on the numbers on the display as the elevator begins its slow ascent, but she can’t ignore the fact that Arjun is standing right beside her. The quiet tension between them feels thick — as though something is waiting to be said, even if neither of them is ready to say it.
"You know, Riya," Arjun says suddenly, breaking the silence, "you don’t have to stay so late every day."
Riya turns to him, surprised by the softness in his voice. "I just have a lot to catch up on," she replies quickly, her words almost automatic. Her nerves, however, are anything but calm. The closeness of the elevator makes her acutely aware of every inch between them.
Arjun doesn’t say anything immediately. Instead, he looks at her, his eyes scanning her face with that same intensity she’s come to know all too well. "You don’t have to prove anything to anyone here," he says quietly. "We all know you’re capable."
Riya’s heart skips a beat at the rare reassurance from him. She tries to laugh it off, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks. "I’m not proving anything, Arjun sir. Just... getting back into the swing of things."
Arjun smirks at her, noticing the way she’s blushing. He takes a deliberate step closer, his gaze never leaving hers. "You’re blushing, Riya." He lets the words hang in the air, and there’s a certain teasing quality in his tone that makes Riya even more flustered.
Riya’s eyes widen, her breath catching in her throat. She quickly turns her gaze forward, trying to hide her embarrassment. "I-I’m not," she mutters, though it’s clearly not true.
Arjun, now fully enjoying her nervousness, tilts his head slightly, his lips twitching into a knowing smile. "Samjhi ya samjhaun?" His voice is low, smooth, almost playful.
Riya’s face turns crimson. Why does he always have to do this? she thinks, her heart racing. "Samajh gayi," she whispers, still not daring to look at him.
Arjun doesn’t press further, though the corners of his lips curl into an almost imperceptible smile. The elevator dings as they reach their floor, and he steps out, but not before giving her one last look, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
As the door closes behind her, Riya lets out a long breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions in her chest. Why does he always have to make things so complicated?
A few days later, Riya finds herself in the office, balancing multiple tasks at once. She's a little more exhausted than usual, but she’s determined not to let it show. She’s been working double-time to make up for the weeks she lost during her recovery. Her head is spinning with details from the case when she suddenly feels someone standing beside her desk.
She looks up to find Arjun, watching her with a concerned expression. "Riya, you’re overworking yourself again."
"I’m fine, Arjun sir," she says quickly, but there’s a subtle tremor in her voice that betrays her. "Really."
Arjun sighs, his eyes narrowing. "I said, you’re pushing yourself too hard." Without waiting for her to protest, he reaches over and grabs the case file she’s holding, setting it aside. "Take a break."
Riya looks up at him, her eyes wide with surprise. "But we have—"
"I know," Arjun interrupts, his voice soft but firm. "But your health comes first."
Riya opens her mouth to argue, but the look on Arjun’s face makes her stop. She’s never seen him this insistent before, and it’s... oddly comforting. She’s still getting used to the idea of Arjun caring, even if he doesn’t always show it.
"Fine," she mutters, half-reluctantly, her gaze dropping to her hands, which have suddenly become far too interesting to look at. "I’ll take a short break. Just a little one."
Arjun nods, his face still unreadable, but there’s a softness in his expression that Riya doesn’t miss. "Good."
Before he turns to leave, he catches her eye, and for a brief moment, the usual tension between them fades away. Arjun doesn’t say anything more, but the fleeting smile he gives her is enough to send Riya’s heart into a wild beat.
As he walks away, Riya is left with a strange sense of warmth in her chest. It’s a feeling she’s growing more and more accustomed to, and it confuses her in ways she doesn’t know how to handle.
A few days later, Riya is standing at the whiteboard in the ETF conference room, jotting down important points from a meeting. Her back is to the door, and she’s so engrossed in her work that she doesn’t notice Arjun walking in.
Suddenly, she feels a hand on her shoulder — a firm but gentle touch. She spins around, startled, and finds herself face-to-face with Arjun, his eyes focused entirely on her.
His hand is still on her shoulder, but he doesn’t immediately pull away. Instead, he watches her, the usual stoic expression on his face, though there’s a slight amusement in his eyes.
"You’re always in such a rush," Arjun observes quietly, his voice low. "You should learn to slow down."
Riya’s heart pounds in her chest as she looks up at him, caught off guard by his proximity. She can feel the warmth of his hand where it rests on her shoulder, and she feels like she can’t breathe for a moment. She quickly steps back, her face flushing with embarrassment.
"I... I wasn’t rushing," she stammers, avoiding his gaze. Her pulse races, and she’s acutely aware of the way Arjun is still watching her, his hand now hanging by his side.
Arjun’s lips twitch into a faint smile. "Samjhi ya samjhaun?" he asks in that same teasing tone, knowing full well the effect his words have on her.
Riya looks up at him, her eyes wide with nerves. "Samajh gayi," she replies quietly, her voice almost a whisper.
Arjun’s gaze softens for a split second, but it’s gone before Riya can fully register it. Without another word, he walks out of the room, leaving Riya standing there, her heart still racing.
As days pass, the moments between Arjun and Riya grow more frequent. Arjun continues his subtle teasing, enjoying every moment Riya blushes or becomes flustered at his unexpected attentions. And Riya, despite her best efforts to remain composed, finds herself more and more affected by the stoic, brooding man she’s learning to understand in ways she hadn’t anticipated.
The unspoken words between them grow heavier with each passing day. Arjun’s concern for her, his silent support, and his rare moments of teasing all leave Riya wondering if there’s more to their relationship than just a professional one. But for now, the silence between them remains — filled with a hundred things neither is willing to say out loud.
And so, they continue to dance around each other, two people caught in a quiet connection that neither can fully comprehend but both feel more than they care to admit.
End
If you’d like for more, I may add a few more parts 🥰. Please drop your creative criticism! Thank you & hope you enjoyed!
Love,
Saraf
Lmao he's so enjoying leaving her flustered
It's like Riya in her heart knows she cares about him and he does too but it's soon to give it name of love.
I liked the way how he touched her shoulder and her reaction. Very interesting to read her emotions
Would love to read more hell yeah
