Everything around them burned. The house, the vehicles and their only hope. Shattered to the ground.

One hour ago

" Why would anyone target Riya? Especially now that they know ETF was involved in dissolving the last biochemical attack? Sun bhai, maybe we are over thinking this?" Yash tried to knock some sense into his stubborn Best friend.

"Maybe. Maybe not. Rajat, the guy who used his teacher's notes to make that bloody bacteria, usne ek hi kaam ki Baat ki thi. Ye jo biochemical weapons hote hai, they're the most dangerous. Even danger than guns and bombs. Because they go undetected. If, and I honestly hope, we're over thinking, there's no harm in taking precautions. " Arjun replied, his mind already planning what to do next.

" Lekin jab woh bacteria hi nahi hai, kaisa khatra? " Aisha. This didn't make sense. The last amount of the dangerous drug were destroyed and the notes of the mad scientist were in their custody.

A minute of silence

"Whatever last amount we could find, we destroyed it. But the thing is, that bacteria still lives inside Riya. Her doctors were not able to destroy it in her body, they just tried to control its growth and minimise its effects. If a guy can replicate that damned thing with someone else's notes, I'm pretty sure they could reproduce it too. " Arjun replied.

" And if that's what they're after, we need to protect the doctors as well. Because they're the only ones who know how to minimise the effects. " Sakshi piped in.

Arjun tuned to look at her, a grin on his face.

" What? ", she asked" Aise kyu dekhrahe ho? "

" Kya Baat Hai Miss Anand, aaj kaam ki Baat kaise kardi aapne " For the briefest second, Sakshi could swear she saw a smile on his face. She'd hold on to the moment forever.

" Let's go " her boss said, clicking his finger, tucking his gun and was about to walk out when Shree's words stopped him.

" Sir aaplog jaiye. Mein yahan ruk kar Ri ka Dhyaan rakhunga"

Arjun had neither missed the concern in his voice nor the use of the nickname for his research specialist. A small smile graced his lips and as he turned his head and nodded. Riya would be delighted!!

"The number you're calling is........"

"DAMNIT!!!!" A very angry Arjun groaned.

The ETF had reached the hospital with high hopes of meeting Dr. Priya Darshini but to their absolute bad lack they were informed she was on leave.

"Paanch din se continuous duty ke Baad unhone teen din ki chutti li hai. And has requested to not be disturbed." The manager had told them.

"Kya mujhe unka address milsakta hai?"

Having obtained the address, ETF was on their way to her house in two SUVs, with Arjun continously calling the doctor.

"Arjun ab kya......." before Sakshi could even complete her sentence, a blast resounded nearby.

And then flames.

The ETF had just turned the corner when the doctor's house went up in the flames.

Everything around them burned. The house, the vehicles and their only hope. Shattered to the ground.

Arjun was right. They're after her. Running his hand through his hair, he could only think of the poor girl lying on his couch. How will she react when she comes to know of this. Fishing his phone out of his pocket he called the techie" Shree, building ke bahar security badha do. Girish se kaho poora office search kare. Kuch bhi mile, kuch bhi immediately inform karo. Mein Commissioner Sir se Baat karlunga. Aur Haan, Riya ko apne nazar ke Saamne se Jaane mat dena. They're after her. "

Ending the call, he looked about. Currently fire fighters were dousing the flames. If the Doctor was inside, she couldn't have survived the blast. Arjun sincerely hoped she was somewhere, hiding in safety. Their only problem, then would be to find her.

Putting on a sober face, despite his heart throbbing in his chest, he started to look around, hoping to find anything that would help them. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Only, he was looking in a pile of rubble and Ash.

"BUT WHAT? WHAT. DON'T TELL ME YOU MESSED UP."

The man squirmed "we're just not sure if she was in there. Yet. But there's no way anyone could've survived the blast."

" Damn it! Should've shot her. Itna sab kuch and no assured results. FIND HER! FIND HER BEFORE SHE SNITCHES ON US. AND IF THIS TIME SHE SURVIVES, YOU WON'T "

Riya had just woke up and was surprised to see a curly head beside her. When her registered who he was, she didn't know what to expect. Where things so bad that Shree had overcome everything and was now by her side? Where was Arjun? What had happened back in the locker room, was it real or just a visual in her mind? As Riya pressed on her mind for more information, her head began to hurt.

"Ughh" she groaned making the techie turn to face her. "My head hurts" she complained.

"Er...... Riya" was all he could muster, before the door flung open and in marched two extremely and openly worried ACPs.

"Riya! Thank Goodness you're awake." Yash exclaimed, atleast something was right. He was about to say something but stopped when he saw Arjun pull her into his arms, surprising his junior who stated with his jaw on the ground.

Arjun just pulled her into a hug, relieved she's awake yet he wished she was asleep for a while. It won't be easy to tell her what had happened so far. Forgetting everything, he just sighed in her hair, she was melting in his arms. In that moment, Arjun swore he could do anything to have her this safe, in her arms forever.

On the other hand, Riya was only too happy to be in his arms. The way she felt safe with him, nothing else could compare. She recollected how he had barged in the locker room and dragged her out to safety and calmed her down. The very thought of the place with the hundred of tiny orbs filled her with fear and she held onto him harder.

Arjun felt her gripping his shoulders harder, and immediately pulled apart and cupped her face. As he looked into the coal black eyes, he couldn't help but notice the trust in her eyes. Closing his eyes for a second and bracing himself for whatever is about to come, he pressed a tiny kiss on her forehead, relishing the moment.

The other two people in the room watched on as Riya immediately looked less worried when Arjun had come in. Yash could see the frown on her forehead fade away and her eyes shine with trust. He hadn't missed the way Arjun was previously comforting Riya. He was the end to all her fears and inhibitions. She was the happiness He had been running away from.

In this moment and every else, they always were complete.
