The guest

Riya moved to kolkata get off into her routine. She started to move easily with her parents and friends like before. She joined the course and she was proved to be a topper in her academics. Riya forgot Arjun completely with the help of her parents. Everything in her life seems to good.

YEARS PASSED AWAY

3 YEARS LATER

Everything in Riya's life seemed to be in place. She is having a very good college with best set of friends. Her parents mended their ways for her, but she has not adjusted with it.

One day riya was travelling by a train suddenly she received a call from her mother.

Riya : hello

Mom : see beta.. Mere friend ka beta aaj aaraha hai usse lene jao na.. Please beta

Riya : ha ma... Kaha hai wo

Mom : railway station

Riya goes to the railway station and waits for him. After half an hour, she sees sam coming towards her she runs away from there seeing him.

Riya drives her scootey as fast as she can and reaches her friend ayesha's home.. By evening she returned home as usual forgetting about the guest.

Riya enters her house playing with her phone. Her mother on seeing her grits her teeth and suddenly riya remembers about the guest.

Riya :Sorry ma mein bhul gayi... Ab ja rahi hun bye

Mom : dekho ab jake koi faida nahi kyu ki wo actually ab ghar mein hi hain

Riya : address kaise

Mom : he called dad he informed about address aur tum ek rani ho jinke pass pick up karne ke liye time bhi nahi hai... Aur tera baaap tujhse bhi jyaada busy hai...

Riya : ab drama band karo... Mein jaake use personally sorry boltha hun..

Mom : dekho beta... Maine coffee aur snacks taiyyar ki jao aur use deke sorry bolo

Riya : kya tum mujhe iss Tarah pyaar se coffee pilaye hai... Akhir mein kaun hun tumhare liye

Mom : serials mein act karne ke liye jao.. Yaha drama math karo aur i am going out and will return soon. And take care of our guest

Riya : mere jaise pyaare hai kya tumhare guest?

Mom : no actually tumse bhi jyaada kyu ki you see he is such a sweet, natural, down to earth man..

Riya : kya aap unke prashamsa karyakram ko rok denge toh mein fresh hokar uska darshan karungi..

Mom : ji ha.. I am getting late.. Take care call me in case u want anything.

Riya : aap kehrahe hai lekin aap nahi jaa rahe hai

Mom : ok bye

Riya's mom left and riya left to her room to fresh up and she heated the coffee and snacks and took them to the top floor. She opened the door and what she saw was really unimaginable...

She saw a boy on his towel face turned other side and dancing to Michel Jackson's song and suddenly fell down and she silently kept the coffee and other things on the table and sat on bed still unnoticed by that man who is busy adjusting his towel and still dancing.. She started laughing aloud and that man turned back giving her biggest surprise of her life

Riya : tum

Boy : vaish tum...

Riya : she forgot about lied name : vaish kaun mein riya... Riya Mukherjee

Sam : toh tum unki doppelganger ho... This is crazy.. Wow

Riya : sam chup karo yeh sab.. I am not the one u thought

Sam : i didn't even said u r the one... But wait u said my name that means u are the same one who i met on train right...

Riya : dekho wo Sab baad mein... Coffee tandi horaha hai peelo

Sam : ha... Lekin i don't drink coffee... I just prefer my Mumbai cutting chai over everything

Riya : pehle try toh karo. Bina taste karke tum kaise aise baath kar sakhthi ho.. Har cheez ko apna swaad aur khasiyath hotha hai.. Samjhe ya samjhau..

Sam : ji mem sahib.. Saying this he took his cup.. Riya saw him awkwardly.

Sam : mujhe yeh pasand nahi hai iskaa matlab yahi nahi ki mein ise nahi le saktha hunn... Kyo ki ham kisi ek ko pasand karthi toh hamare dislikes bhi unke liye likes hojayega.. Yeh tumhe samjh gaya ya phir se samjhau..

Riya suddenly remembers something

Riya was walking down the road along the river hand in hand with arjun. Arjun went near a kulfi stall and forwarded his hand to riya to come there. Riya went to him and he ordered two kulfis.

Riya was not in a mood to eat street food but agreed because she didn't want arjun to feel sad. She thought of eating but she is unable to bcz she is a girl born with silver spoon. She never had any experience on road side.She was unsure whether to eat or not.

Riya : arjun.. Mujhe ab mood nahi hai..

Arjun : yaha ka kulfi dekho poore banaras mein best hai

Riya : mujhe kulfi Acha nahi lagtha... I mean i don't like it is liye tum khao mein wait karungi..

Arjun gave money to the vendor and threw his malai and went near riya and they started to walk

Riya : arjun. I am sorry mere liye tum tumhare favorite kulfi ko..

Arjun : wo mere favourite tha... Ab nahi

Riya : shocked: kyu

Arjun : what ever u may think but ek baat bolu... Tumhare liye sacrifice karne mein aise mazaa mujhe kisi aur cheez mein kabhi miltha nahi..

Riya : lekin mere liye

Arjun : kuch log ko khelne mein kush hai aur kuch logon ko padne mein.. Lekin mujhe tumhare liye kuch karne mein kush hai...

Riya hugged arjun tightly and started to cry murmuring something. Arjun then kissed her forehead and patted her back for sometime.

Arjun : dekho riyu whatever i do is the ones i have in my hand.. Mein ek aam middle class ki ladka hun aur yaha hamare liye compromise karna bas simple sa baath hai. Tum kal yaha aane wali ho.. Dekho mein tumhare aankhon mein aasu nahi dekh saktha hun... Lekin ek Sach kahu. I m proud of myself because i did something for you. It always makes my day

Riya hugs him tightly. They freeze there for some time and then he stares at her lovingly.

Arjun : chale

Riya : nahin

Arjun : you don't listen like that... Saying this he lifted her in his arms

Riya : dekho agar kisi ne dekha toh

Arjun : toh kya hoga.. Hamara shadi hojayega

Riya smiles at this and cuddles into him and he walks lifting her in his hands. Shree sakshi joins them and start cheering them which made riya blush hard.

Here sam was moving his hand in front of riya looking strangely at her as she was lost. Suddenly riya came back to senses.. She looked at him defeated and sighed sadly

Sam: kya hua riya

Riya : kuch nahi... Bas some bad thought..( Suddenly she remembered something) what are you doing here?

Sam : yeh mera room hai.. And you are out of senses..

Riya : sorry i was distracted.. Bye

She left the place. She went to her room. She sat on the floor holding her head which is making her remember the things which she buried 3 years ago. She suddenly remembered arjun and went to call him. She dialled his landline number and he lifted the other side

Riya stood mum

Arjun : hello.. Arjun speaking..

She didn't utter a word. He kept on asking about the other details of the caller but she didn't gave any response.

Arjun : riya...

Riya eyes were filled with tears as she listened her name. She suddenly hang up the call. She sat there crying there till night and felt asleep while crying. Suddenly she woke up by the door knock. She opened the door her mother was looking at her worried.

Mom : kya hua beta..

Riya : kal i didn't sleep well yesterday night so i fell asleep.. Kuch nahi

Her mother though not convinced with her reply but choose to neglect it.

Mom : fresh hojavo jaldi.. Me and sam are waiting for you

Riya nodded and closed the door. Her eyes welled up as arjun asked her.. She cried a bit and then remembered their breakup. She stood up determined..

Riya : dekho arjun. I loved you but that doesn't mean i am a puppet in your hands never... And i am not an object to usee... You never deserved me... And good bye

she deleted his number from her list and went downstairs to join sam. By the time riya reached living room. Riya's mother completed her dinner. She was serving food to sam who is sitting in front of tv watching titanic movie. Riya's mother was forcing him to eat more and more..riya smiled looking at that. Riya went to the and sat beside sam.

Mom : beta tum bhi khao na.. Its already late.

Riya : ha. Mein araha hun.

She turned towards the table sam caught hold of her hand. He signaled to sit her there.

Sam: mehman ko company chahiye..

Riya sighed and sat there.

Mom : i am tired beta u be with sam. I will go to sleep

Riya's mother went and riya bought her plate and sat beside sam. Sam was looking seriously at the movie playing in the TV. Riya also saw it for sometime..suddenly the pole scene enters the scene.. Riya thought sam would embarrass her. But instead sam innocently kept his face struggling to ask something. Riya sensed something wrong and looked at him

Riya : kya hua..

Sam: ek doubt hai.. Puchu?

Riya : ha

Sam : doesn't our nose get banged while kissing

Riya stared him strangely but the next instant she started to laugh aloud looking at his innocence. He made a face and turned other side

Riya : ab yeh drama kya hai.

Sam : u are the one who asked about my doubt and now you are laughing like this.. I just cant believe this

Riya : sorry.. Lekin tumhe pata nahi hai kya.. Kabhi kisi ko kiss nahi kiya

Sam : nahi mera pehle pyaar toh woh train wali hai... Aur wo kaali ma ka roop hai.. (Saw a furious riya and changed the topic) u never kissed one strange thing.. U see u look good but no boy friend till now what is the problem

Riya : i used to have but not now... Leave it... But see i can promise that nose never bangs

Sam : experienced... Great.. Toh try kare

Riya absent mindedly nodded.. He came near her and she popped her eyes in shock.
