Chapter 29:Sakshi stood there stunned due to Arjun's actions. She expected him to be hurt, to be angry but this was not a solution to any problem. She was angry now that how could he take such impulsive decisions.
Sakshi: what is this? Advay answer me what is this? Just because of a heinous incident, you are giving me divorce. I agree that I went out, but I didn't realise it. I was too occupied by the event and may be angry too. But the anger was not for you it was for that animal.
Arjun looked at Sakshi gratefully, it appeared he wanted to say something but before he could say it his facial expressions changed and he took a deep sigh before continuing.
Arjun: I've told you Sakshi, call me Arjun. And secondly the divorce is not only for this incident. It was prepared few days back. I thought about ending this forced marriage once all this is over. So...
Arjun couldn't complete, Sakshi held him by his t-shirt and shook him. She looked furious. She pushed him and he backed off till he collided with the wall and she again got hold of his t-shirt. Her eyes were full, she exhaled from her mouth, and her rage could be felt by Arjun. It wouldn't be wrong to say that he was scared of the outcome.
Sakshi: who told you this is a forced marriage? I love you and I've told you this many times. Now you'll say you don't love me, then stop this crap, I know, i can see it in your eyes, I can feel it in your behaviour that you also love me. Say if I'm wrong.
But Arjun didn't answer. He didn't make eye contact with her. This angered her even more. She grasped his face and turned him to her.
Sakshi: look at me when I'm talking to you.
But what she saw in his eyes broke her. His eyes were also welled. She saw his eyes portrayed different emotions all at the same time. It had immense love for her. It had pain, it was bounded by guilt due to various reasons but she could see there fear, fear of loosing everything all over again. Fear of giving pain to his loved ones. She knew that if this sort of situation ever arises, he'd take up all pain and hatred but never let any of them suffer. But she couldn't let that happen. He had already exceeded the quota of pain for one lifetime.
Sakshi: what is it Arjun? Tell me? Don't you love me? Is whatever I saw in your eyes, whatever I felt just guilt and care for a friend. Am I just your friend and you are in this relation just to fulfil your vows. Do I even matter to you, is all these emotions false. Were your gestures just a facade. You don't love me? You don't want to stay...
Arjun: I don't know about love Sakshi. But what I feel for you is way too intense. If thats what love is then yes I love you Sakshi, only you. I've always loved you. I haven't even thought about anyone else. But I can't be selfish and destroy your life. I...
Sakshi now was relieved, and overjoyed with his confession. This was the first time he was saying all these. She tried to calm him now.
Sakshi: Arjun whatever happened is not your fault, give some time everything will be okay.
Arjun: That's it. I don't have time.
Sakshi: what? what Are you saying?
Sakshi was Now surprised by these sudden revealations. Arjun took a deep breath And revealed about the clot, And his medical condition. This was another shock for her And She couldn't hold back her tears, She burried her head on Arjun's chest and cried freely. Arjun though got hurt by her force But handled her till She got back her composure.
Arjun: ... That's why Sakshi, I can't destroy your life. there are very less chances of my survival. If I don't return your life, your happiness everything will again go away which I can't afford. so it's better if we part ways.
Sakshi now understanding Arjun's problem cupped his face And wiped the tears.
Sakshi: there are less chances. But still we have chance. I've faith on my God that nothing will happen to you. you just don't loose hope. you'll fight it, if not for yourself, then for your family, for me. understood.
Arjun: But...
Sakshi: no buts Arjun. I'm not leaving you alone to face all these, I'll be by your side. And you are not at fault because of what happened so don't...
Arjun: you think that but neither I feel it nor any one else.
Sakshi: I don't care about others.
While saying unknowingly Sakshi's grip on Arjun's chest hardened And he flinched in pain. she realizing her mistake looked at him apologetically.
Sakshi: open your shirt.
Arjun: what?
Sakshi: open it Arjun.
Arjun: Sakshi you...
Sakshi: I want to see, please.
Arjun knew she won't be able to tolerate it. so he was reluctant But when she was adamant, he was left with no other choice.
As he unbuttoned the shirt, sakshi gasped seeing the condition. His whole upper body was covered with blade marks, some where deep too. it had bite marks, scratches, nail imprints. She could hardly imagine, how Arjun tolerated it. seeing her reaction Arjun was again burdened with guilt.
he didn't say it aloud, But another reason for the divorce was he didn't feel himself worthy of her. he was disgusted with himself, what could he expect from her. Ragini's marks, her feel was embedded in his body which he couldnt remove how much he wanted.
Sakshi took out the ointment, doctor had prescribed and slowly glided it along his chest. then she applied it to other parts as well. But she stopped when she saw that mark on his chest. however painful the situation was she was happy that Ragini couldn't give him her mark. it was still S and T on his heart.
Arjun on the other hand felt something very different. his body was liking Sakshi's intimate touches. he had to close his eyes to control his pacing heart, his running breaths. this was the first time he was feeling something of this sort. may be this was love. .
