Chapter 2

Riya knew a place is there in her head, where she can go when she feels lost. It's her safe place where she knew no one could harm her. After Mom's loss, her dad's second marriage, Mamaji's restrictions she knew that the place she has made in her head can keep her sane. She knew in that moment when she saw the severed head of the teddy bear she needed a safe place right now. The urge to lose oneself in that place was overwhelming her. Yet she knew that moment was not the time to lose herself in that place. Now was the time to find her Laddo. A person who just started looking at her with less fear in her eyes.

She wiped her tears from her eyes, and making herself stand up with support from Shree and Arjun Sir. She could see Shree's concerned expression and Arjun Sir emotionless expression. A person looking at Arjun would think that that moment did not affect him yet Riya could see the turmoil clearly being seen in the clenching of his jaw and a anger so deep in his eyes, that in that moment Riya knew that now no one can escape him. But her first priority is her Laddo. Hearing Arjun's phone ring, everyone tensed up. Riya looks at Rathore Sir to gesture everyone to be quiet as they do not have the time to trace the call. Arjun picks up the phone his jaw still ticking, "Tiwari. A maniacal laughter sounded through the phone, and he said "Kaisa laga tohfa Arjun Sahab? Kisi ki yaad aayi?. Arjun hands slowly went into a fist and he looked at the stormy expression on his face as they both remember the day. Tiwari continues "Aapne toh apni biwi ko nahi bacha paaye par apni chamchiya ki yeh cheez ko bacha sakte hai ek shart par. Mujhe iss desh se bahar nikalne ka raaste bataunge. Aapne hi mera raasta rok ke rakha hai aura ap hi mujhe yahaan se nikal denge. Mai desh se nikla aur yahaan appki chamchiya ki cheez azad. Lekin agar koi chaalaki ki, toh mai appki iss cheez ke saath kya karunga yeh toh mujhe bhi nahi pata. 4 ghante deta hu ACP. Soch lijiye, mai ya chamchiya ka cheez?. And he cut the call. Looking into Riya's eyes, Arjun knew that there was no choice to make. But before Rathore and Arjun could say anything, Riya said "Nahi Arjun Sir, who desh se bahar nahi jana chahiye. Rathore said "Riya, koi choice nahi hai? Yehi ek raasta hai. Riya shouted "toh dusra raasta banaye, lekin yeh raasta nahi. Hum police officers hai, agar apne parivaar ko hamari taqat ke bhajayi kamzori samjhenge toh kabhi koi criminals nahi pakad payenge. Humesha iss baat se darenge ki humara parivaar par aanch aayenga aur Na hi mai aur Na hi apni Laddo ko iss darr ke saath ji sakti hai. Please sir, Aap dono koi aur raasta soch lijiye. Arjun Sir aap hi toh kehte raaste kabhi band nahi hote, sirf chalne me todhi mushkil ho jaati hai. Please sir iss raaste ko band mat samjhye.

Riya looks at Arjun as he continues to see her with a blank expression.

After 3 hrs,

Arjun looks at Riya and she nods her head giving her consent. Both of them turn hearing a car come towards them. As the headlights come upon them, Arjun's hands curl into a fist but he stays steady in front of the car. It was a barren area where they were called. There was no place to hide for any of their team members. The car stops in front of them and out comes a portly man, signs of paan being chewed present through the red spit he spits on the ground. He walks towards them with a smugness present in his step. He stops in front of ACP and mockingly bends and says "Namaste ACP, aapke darshan hua, mai toh dhanya hogaya. Arjun just said "Ladki kahan hai? He signals with his hands and his goons with their faces covered opens the door and brings out a girl who whimpers, her hands bound and her eyes blindfounded. Riya tries to walk towards her with her name on her lips but Tiwari comes in between them. He touches her face and Riya takes a step behind in disgust. Arjun is now barely restraining himself from attacking Tiwari. Tiwari said "Nahi, Nahi chamchiya. Hamare beech mai ek sauda hua tha. Tumhari cheez aur meri azaadi. Turning to Arjun he said "Aur ACP kya plan mujhe lejane ke liye? Arjun takes out a packet and hands it to Tiwari. Tiwari feels its weight and said "Bhaari hai. Magar Parivaar ke saamne paise ka kya mol. Arjun said "Tujhe meri madat ki kya zarrorat thi Tiwari. Tere peeche toh Harsh Mehta jaisa powerful politician haina. Tiwari said "Abhi hum kya bataye ACP. Dhande mai vasool ye hota hai ki jab sauda kar rahe ho toh immandari ke saath karo. Par kya kare Humare aur Harsh Sahab ke beech ka sauda beimaan hogaya aur hume aap par lagu hona pad raha hai. Par aap toh immandar hai ACP aur mai jaantha hu Ki aapse beimaani ki koi darn ahi hoga. Issliye sauda aapse karne ka socha.

Arjun said "Packet kholke toh dekho Tiwari. Sauda immandar ho ya beimaan phir bolna. Tiwari said "Jaisi aapki marzi. Tiwari opens the packet and out comes a pair of handcuffs. Tiwari immediately drops the handcuffs and reaches for the gun but stop seeing Riya's gun right on his head. Tiwari said "Soch le chamchiya, tu mujhe pakdi aur teri behen toh gayi. Riya said "zara piche toh dekh Tiwari. Tiwari turns and sees the girl's hands being untied. The mask of his men is removed and he sees Rathore, Shree and Chotu's thunderous eyes. Tiwari looks at them with a shocked expression and Arjun said, "Tumhare aadmiyo ko pehle se pakda tha. Ab sirf tu bacha tha. Kisine ne mujhe bataya ki aurat ke kabiliyat par kabhi shak nahi karna chahiya. Bas usi baat ko humne aazmaya. Aur jin aurat ko tum chamhiya bolte rahe aaj usi aurat tumhare jail jane ki wajah ban gaye. Samjhe ya Samjhau?. Riya steps forward and give a tight punch to Tiwari's face. Arjun puts the handcuffs on him and puts him in the car. Seeing Rathore standing near him, he turns and nods towards him. Walking to the front of the car, he sees Riya tenderly remove the blindfold from her sister's eyes. She hugs her sister and her sister hugs her back tears flooding her eyes.

She looks up and Arjun takes a step back. "Roshni is the only thought in his mind as darkness takes over his vision.
