Wow Riya is meticulous AF. Almost obsessive like. It is in her nature but it makes me curious if she does that note making for all cases with that much focus or this one is special (duh).
Now this is some meaty giant update and now I am going to list my feels. . . ehm, I mean reply.😆 Arjun Rawte having a panic attack, oh boy never thought I will see that in any fic. I agree with your note in the end that no way a person who has seen his wife tortured to death and himself was hurt could be in sane mind. What I understood from the TV show that he was half conscious when Roshni was getting murdered (that tattoo on his arm slashed with a knife) so small mercy that it all felt like bad nightmare and he actively saw/witnessed nothing. By the time he came back ton consciousness all was over and rage may have overtaken the grieving process/6 degrees of mourning. In the back of his head the only thing he remember of the incident is the scream of Roshni and her stretched out arm for him. But what triggered this? The exhaustion of the case or something related to Riya? Not saying this as a romantic but whatever going on with her is parallel to what he felt and feels like daily basis. And she probably dealing with this situation worse way than him. She's trying to heal but bottling up things inside her. Top of it there is a different kind of guilt for this- if only she had not gone for the investigation, possibly came in touch with killer. This murder makes me wonder if killer was trying to punish her for that kiss, wanted her to feel what Arjun felt after Roshni and now since they are on same emotional level, he can 'cleanse' her. Why is not he attacking her? She was all alone for the entire day and Arjun was distracted. If there are two killers (possibly three) what they are waiting for? Why drag this case from Uttarakhand to Kolkata? Is this related to Roshni, did she have any Kolkata connection? Man that burnt HDD and note- the killers knew sooner or later they will reach there. Rathore was right about how can hotel owners don't know someone under their nose using the underground tunnel (it's tunnel right?) but what if they themselves don't know? This just affirms my idea that it has to be housekeeping.
ArIya as an unit is looking quite comfortable with the physical aspect of it. Arjun taps on her fist without any hesitation, which even Shree files away for inspection later😛 Riya though hesitantly but quite boldly snaps him out of his panic attack and then Arjun shares about Roshni, wow. Probably needed to distract himself from the demons in head and wanted to let in someone else. When Riya didn't there was no dissatisfaction, just a small shrug. They sit in front of laptop for hours and Riya mentions the kiss and he doesn't even blink. It's interesting how Riya thinks of him as a light, he probably thinks of himself as creature of dark. Maybe a stone, everlasting and constant. Light? If he can remain a light even after a tragedy what this says about her? And in the end, she checks him out as he changes shirt. It would be interesting to see once they are out of this bubble and goes back to real world how this dynamics shifts.
The killing is making my mind go overboard. As I type this I feel the second murder in Kolkata was a distraction to cover it up as serial killing, but if that's a hoax to lure ETF resort murders has to be the same. But how killers will know if case continues like this ETF will step in, were they counting on it? Are there two murderers or three? Maybe it's a couple, the woman murdered the sister and male unleashing his wrath on another poor couple cause his partner is distracted. These two are contradictory I admit but there are so much possibilities. Where the killers found that big water source to drown people and then clean them, dry the area? If the murders happened in the bathtubs of their individual room maybe they emptied the tub, and maybe that big amount of water came from big drinking water cans.
