It was a superb update, no doubt about it. And may be it is the best one if the story, taking the readers for a tremendous emotional roller coaster. Till now, to be very frank and am sorry if my lines hurt anyone, we have come across some stories where sakshi was made to hold back immense pain behind her glittering eyes but you have successfully promoted her to become an EPITOME OF LIFE AND COURAGE. We often find people brave enough to accept their life with all the best and worst of it but there r very few who challenge it back to get back what they truly deserve and just not sit back with what bits of crumbs life has showered on them.

There r some things which make ur story really really different and help u to make a specific niche as a writer, it's the words u use and obviously the way u use it. Its really commendable.

But what take u, as a writer to a different level is that u have complete control over all the threads of ur story and moreover u know very well when to pull each of them to make it more striking.

Just for example, introducing the tiny part of Riya's pov just when the readers r enjoying an arakshi filled episode and managing to digest sakshi's bitter past. Another one, at nearly the end of the story when arakshi were emotionally coming close with a confused Arjun and well aware sakshi about their respective emotions, sakshi held back and took just what she needed at the moment.

I agree that all these were perfectly spaced and needed in the story but these also increased ur credibility as a writer. More or less quite a perfect update altogether. U r the writer who literally commands the readers that hold on guys, this maybe the same dish but when served uniquely , u r bound to relish it that way only. He he he. Before I forget to mention, the windchimes took my heart away along with sakshi. Not becoz I'm in absolute love with them but for the fact that nothing could have been more appropriate that this as a gift to this ALONER sakshi. Great thinking on ur part.

Sorry , did I make my comment long enough to bore u, but silly me couldn't help it, and I had to make up for coming late too.

Chapter 3

She looked at the wind-chimes hanging on the door of her room. Her eyes twinkled as she looked the photos of her loved ones with a huge smile.

For the first time in so many years she was actually happy on her birthday and that night she slept with peace in her heart and smile on her face only because of that one person that meant the world to her, arjun!

Next day...

Arjun was as usual reading some file and twirling a pen when someone knocked. He gestured them to come in without looking up. A steaming cup of cutting chai magically appeared on his table and he looked up. His heart skipped a beat as he saw sakshi standing with a big smile on her face.

'Good morning arjun' she chirped

Finally she came to serve him. Finally she was back to being the sakshi he knew. This thought alone fastened his heartbeats. He had a hard time suppressing the smile that was beginning to form on his face.

'Ohh yeri ye madam or mai inhe kabse dhund rhi thi' sakshi said suddenly with her hand on her hips.

When arjun looked up inquiringly she gestured towards his lips. He touched his lips thinking there was something on his lips when he understood what she was trying to say and could no longer suppress his smile. He chuckled at her antics while she just flashed her trademark smile and left him to his own thoughts.

Here ria was about to enter arjun's cabin when she froze in her steps seeing sakshi there instead. She retraced her steps to where she came from thinking about irony of life. Just last week it was sakshi in her place!

Sakshi came out of his cabin. Just then aisha came to inform her about a new case. A woman's dead body was found on the highway. They all reached the location within a few minutes and started observing the area around the dead body. Liza and ria were examining the dead body. While shree, aisha and sameer were asking around to find witnesses. Arjun was looking for any clues around while sakshi was taking pointers about what to right in her next article.

Sakshi was closely observing ria. She knew everyone's working style and abilities. Ria was the only one she did not knew much about. Ria was really hardworking and observant. In short she knew her work completely.

Just then she saw a man lurking behind a tree. She could clearly see him with a gun that was pointed at ria.

'Ria' sakshi shouted and she instantly looked at where sakshi was pointing but ria did not shoot and before the man could benefit from the situation his gun was shot down by someone else, arjun.

He came forward and glared at ria while ria looked down.

Chottu captured the shooter and took him in custody.

'Tum kabhi nai seekhogi' he said still glaring

'Sorry sir' she said nervous as hell. Shooting anyone has always been an issue for her.

He just shook his head and went away as Ria followed him.

Sakshi looked on confused at their exchange of words.

'Confused?' Shree quipped in

She nodded and he went on to explain

'Actually Ria ko kisi ko bhi shoot krna nahi pasand. Chaahe saamne khada insaan criminal he kyo na ho or chaahe uski jaan khatre meh he kyo na ho. Usne apni life meh bas ek baar shoot kia hai'

Sakshi looked at him curious now

'Jab arjun sir ke paas goliyan khatam hogai thi or ria ke pas koi option nahi tha unhe bachane ke alawa. Fir Ria iss trauma he bahar he nai aa pa rahi thi ki usne kisi ko shoot krdia. Tab arjun sir ne he usse samjhaya tha' he completed

Sakshi felt a little queasy in her heart hearing this. Ria had never shot anyone not even when her own life was in danger but she did it for arjun. It couldn't be infatuation. It was love after all. Arjun also made sure to bring her out of her trauma. He cared for her.

He cares for you too.

Her mind quipped in

Does he?

She didn't know. All she knew was that arjun and ria had a deeper understanding between them than what she had thought initially.

Sakshi sighed a touching her head. A headache slowly making it's way. She was tired of worrying about who arjun was or wasn't close to. Just then arjun stopped his jeep in front of her telling her to get in. She did so but didn't say a word, her good mood from before puffed into thin air.

Arjun looked at her again again as he drove them back to etf. He wondered what happened now. She was fine this morning.

Later that evening the whole team was sitting and chatting casually.

'Chalo guys mai chalti hu doctor ke paas bhi jana hai' ria said

'Kya hua ri tabyat theek nai hai tumhari?' Shree asked

'Nai wo weekly checkup ke lie. Virus se koi side effects na hue ho islie.' She said

'chalo mai le chalta hu' arjun said standing up

Ria nodded and walked away with arjun as sakshi looked on.

'Teko nai lagta aajkal arjun sir ko ria ki kuch zyada he tension hone lagi hai' shree said to chottu grinning from ear to ear

Aisha glared at him and told him to shutup as sakshi was still there.

Sakshi noticing the silence looked their way and surprised to see them already looking at her.

'Kya hua guys'

'Wo tum arjun sir se..'

'Arey nai guys relax woh toh mai aise he arjun ko chidhane ke lie flirt karti rehti hu. Chill!'

They all knew she was lying but didn't press the matter any further.

Ria was giddy with excitement as she was changing from her work clothes. Arjun obviously cared a lot about her. He offered her a lift himself. He even scolded her for her carelessness regarding that shooting issue. Maybe there was hope for her love. Love? Yes love. Why else would she always think about him all the time. She would propose him tomorrow itself she decided.

Here arjun too was thinking something. He was thinking about sakshi. He didn't knew when instead of roshni it was sakshi who lived in his thoughts all the time. He noticed that restlessness again in her eyes today when he asked Ria to come with him. She looked upset almost as if something was reeling in her mind. He knows that she loves him and thinks of Ria as someone who is very dear to him. He noticed this only today. He noticed all her insecurities and inhibitions regarding him. He knew she did not expect him to love her back but the fact that he would love anyone besides roshni troubled her and he understood why. He wanted to put rest to all her questions regarding their relationship. He will propose her tomorrow itself he decided. He will confess that he loves her and only her.

Later that night sakshi was thinking of the days events. She knew Ria was better than her in so many ways. She was not a damsel in distress like her. She sacrificed her life for the country. She was a kind hearted girl and arjun actually smiled when in her presence. She didn't have a dark past that could come in the way of arjun's happiness. She was not raped at the age of 16.

That part alone convinced sakshi that she did not deserve arjun in any way at all. Specially when her body and soul have already been tainted by those hungry monsters. How could she ask him to accept her when she had so many flaws. He did not deserve someone who couldn't even sleep without having nightmares. Who couldn't even celebrate her birthday like normal people. Arjun may care about her and accept her as a team mate but expecting him to actually take her as the love of his life would be so selfish on her part and the more she would go closer to him, the more she will expect this. She should stay away!

'But isn't it already late?' Her heart whispered to her

'Hopefully it's not' she prayed and vowed to never go close to him again.

Kaise aakhen chaar karlu
Kaise aitbaar karlu
apni dhadkon ko kaise itna beqarar karlu
Kaise tujhko dil mai dedu
Kaise tujhse pyaar karlu

Thats it. Don't kill me for appreciating ria so much. Sakshi is very low on self-confidence so that is what she thinks but I'm sure arjun will diagree ;)
Also sorry for this small update but i wanted to end this chap on this note only. Next chapter will be the last one btw!
