Awesome start

Part 2

A slight coughing sound brought her to the real world. She smiled and looked at her husband.

Arjun: Kya soch rahi ho?

Sakshi smiled and shook her head. Telling him all this was not an option. She sensed a slight hesitation from his part. He was not sure about her. Given by the circumstances it was normal. Girls have the boon of being adapted in any situation. But Arjun was waiting for an answer.

Sakshi: Soch rahi hoom jab haamre bacche honge tab aap bhagke kaha jyenge.

Arjun did a double take hearing this. From where did this kinds of thought came to her? He opened his mouth to say something but then stopped. Some memories long forgotten surfaced in his mind.

Flashback

Mrs. Rawte hold little Arjun in a bon crushing hug. He realized that his mother is crying he parted and wiped her tears.

Arjun: Ma aap ro kiyu rahe ho?

Mrs. Rawte: Apne hame itna accha tohfa jo dya!

It was mother's day. So, little Arjun wrote an essay on his mother and gave it as a present. It had a lot of spelling mistake but the love and respect was visible in every line. Arjun wiped away her tears with his bare hand and placed sweet kisses on her cheeks.

Arjun: Par ma maine to apko sirf ek essay likhke diya hai. Utna khas kuch nehi de payi.

Mrs. Rawte's eyes watered again.

Mrs. Rawte: Beta, aap abhi nehi samjhenge. Jab aap bade ho jyenge aur apke bacche honge tab aapko samajh ayega.

He was very little but those words hit him in the heart.

Flashback Ends

He understood then and he understands now. And if Sakshi wants children it is not her fault. It is the most normal thing in the world. Somehow the thought of getting a child from the woman sitting next to him spread a warmth feeling in his heart. He looked at Sakshi and saw her cringing. She was afraid.. afraid of his reaction. He realized with a start. He didn't give her any impression that he wanted her. He smacked himself on the mind. She left her home, her family her past life just to be with him. And he not once acknowledged her as his bride. Nice Arjun. He took a deep breath. Feelings don't change overnight. But there is always a start.

Arjun: I am not afraid. Because I know you will be there to show me how to do things.

He didn't practice them. He didn't understand where the words came from. But somehow it felt good. It felt right.

Sameer finished the report and leaned in his chair. He was damn tired. He was dreaming of hot shower and dinner but he had to crush the thought. He will have to visit hospital. He yawned. A light knock alerted his senses. He checked the clock. It was almost half past seven. No one should be at office at this hour. Then who is knocking?

Sameer: Come in.

Ayesha entered in the cabin with a mug of coffee.

Sameer: Ayesha! Tum yaha iss waqt? Ghar nehi gyi?

Ayesha placed the cup in front of him and smiled. Sameer gestured her to seat.

Ayesha: No sir. Woh kaam karte karte thoda late ho gya. Aur phir socha Arjun sir hospital mein hai dekhke javum. Main nikalne wali thi to dekha aap yaha hai. Aap thake hue najar aa rahe the to coffee lekar ayi hoom.

The fact that Ayesha brought coffee for him should lift up his mood but it didn't. Ayesha wanted to go to hospital to visit Arjun! Didn't she know that Arjun is married now? He should inform her. Poor girl! Surely she will get a shock. But he will be there for her to soothe her heartbreak. He coughed.

Sameer: Ayesha mujhe tumse ek jaruri bat karni hai.

Ayesha: Haan sir bolye na!

Sameer took deep breath.

Sameer: I know it's difficult but.. Arjun ne shadi kar li hai.

Ayesha stared at him for two precious second then burst into peels of laughter.

Sameer shook his head. She must have gone to shock.

Ayesha: Sir, mujhe pata hai ki Arjun sir ki shadi ho gyi hai. In fact I attended the marriage with the whole team.

Sameer went to deeper shade crimson. He wanted to strangle himself. Of course she knows about Arjun' marriage. But his jealous mind didn't let him think clearly and now Ayesha thinks he is stupid. He cleared his throat. A hint of smile was playing on Ayesha's lips.

Sameer: Chalo main bhi wahi jar aha hoom. Sath chalte hai.

Ayesha: Sameer pehle coffee khatam karlo.

Sameer looked at her dumbfounded. First time she called him by his name. Was he dreaming? Ayesha looked a little nervous.

Ayesha: Mujhe tums ek jaruri bat karni hai. Dusre ladkio ki tarah stupid nehi hoom. Iss bat pe believe nehi karti ki pehle kadam hamehsa ladke ko lena chahye. Ghuma phirake bat mujhe karni nehi ati. Isslye sedha sedha bata rahi hoom. I love you Sameer. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You can think I am shameless I don't care. I will understand if you don't love me. Aisa nehi hai ki sab thik hai. But I will take transfer in another branch.

Sameer sat there for some time. He was having a hard time digesting the fact that Ayesha beat him to a proposal.

Sameer: You need to transfer. To my house as my wife.

For a moment Ayesha's heart stopped beating but when it started beating it took a marathon. She smiled in relief and found Sameer looking at her quizzically.

Ayesha: What?

Sameer: Shouldn't girls blush at this point?

Ayesha sighed inwardly.

Ayesha: I am not like other girls Sameer. You can't expect these cheezy things from me. I..

Sameer: It's okay Ayesha. I love you the way you are. Let's go. Arjun must be waiting.

Ayesha smiled a naughty smile.

Ayesha: No, he won't.

Sakshi didn't know how to react. When she blurted out about children she expected he would be angry. But he didn't seem angry at all and his answer. It spread a warm emotion through her heart.

Arjun took her hand in his and closed his eyes. He was feeling worn out. The wounds had stared to pain. Sakshi looked at him alarmingly.

Sakshi: Arjun tum thik ho?

Arjun shook his head.

Sakshi: Doctor ko bulakar lavum?

Arjun: Nehi Sakshi. Injections ka asar hai. Neend aa raha hai. Main thoda so jata hoom. Tum kahi mat jana.

Sakshi smiled.

Sakshi: Main kaha javungi ACP sahab. You have tied me with you in a bond I have no name.

She didn't mean him to hear it. But somehow he did and it brought a smile on his face.
