Prologue:
Sakshi
I stood before my cart with hands in hip. It was full of chocolates, milkshakes and chips. I knew who did this. So, I cleared my throat and shout out his name.
Me: Abigyan Anand!! Come here this instance.
To response my call a six years old handsome son came with hands full of cereal packet.
Abhigyan: Hi mom.
Here I am standing with most intimate mommy pose I can master and my son seems totally unfazed. He lazily came forward and put the packets in the cart and smiled sweetly at me.
Sakshi: What's all this?
Gyan: This is our weekly shopping mom.
I raised my eyebrow. I pretend to check my shopping list.
Me: I really don't see them anywhere!
Gyan: Mom!!
He shook his head.
Gyan: They are in my head. I just forgot to put them in your written list.
Well that cracked me up. Being a single mom it wasn't easy to rise up a kid. But I did it anyway. Partly because he really is a well behaved kid. And partly because well I love him to the core. And the most important thing I don't know how to say no. I sighed dramatically.
Me: Let's go.
My son smiled triumphantly. I smiled and ruffled his hair. We were on our way to the counter when I collided with a woman. I was about to say sorry when she snapped.
Woman: Dekhke nehi chal sakti?
I smiled acidly.
Me: Oh nice suggestion. Agese dhyan rakhungi.
Well sarcasm doesn't cost you!!
She flared up and started ranting. I really didn't care though. I was about to walk past her when I noticed a cute little bundle crying in her cart. A little girl around three or four. But why was she crying? Well none of my business I guess. Gyan went to that little girl and handed her a chocolate bar. He always keeps two or three with him. The girl stopped crying and smiled at him.
I took him by the elbow and went to the counter. I paid for the groceries and went to the parking lot. I was unloading the cart when I heard another scream. I looked at the source. It was that woman again. She was screaming at the poor girl. Gyan was watching all this with wide eyes.
That woman was about to slap the little girl when another boy around Gyan's age stopped him.
Boy: Don't you dare hit her!
Woman: Shut up! Do not teach me what to do or not.
Boy: Stop this. You are not my mother!
That woman raised her hand to hit that boy. This time I snapped. I went to her before she could lower her hand.
Me: Hit him and I will kill you.
Woman narrowed her eyes.
Woman: You stay out of all this.
I couldn't tolerate longer. I pushed her. She fell on the ground. I took the little girl in my lap and that boy by hand and ran to my car. I made them sit in my car and started the engine. Once I took the car in main road then I realized actually what have I done. I just kidnapped two poor kids. Oh shit!! I looked at them apologetically.
My son made the first move.
Gyan: Hi. I am Gyan. Abhigyan Anand. I am seven. The woman who kidnapped you is my mother. What's your name?
The boy smiled a little.
Boy: I am Rudra. Rudra Suryakant Rwte. This is my little sister Khushbu Suryakant Rawte. I am also seven. Khushbu is three.
In no time Gyan and Rudra became best buddies. I hated to interrupt but I nedded to inform their parents.
Me: Hi Rudra. Apse milke bohot accha laga beta. But kya aap mujhe apke papa ka naam aur phone number bata sakte hai. Mujhe unko inform bhi to karna hai!
Rudra: Hallo aunty! Mera papaka naam hai Arjun Suryakant Rawte. He is the second in command of ETF.
Then he gave me his number. Crap Crap Crap. I just kidnapped a cop's kids. Oh God save me.
I quickly dialed his number before I chickened out. After a few dial it went to the voice mail. So, I decided to leave a mail.
Me: Hi, this is Sakshi Anand. I think I have your kids with me. So, if you want them... Ummm then call me.
This is gonna be so freaking awesome!!!!
