Chapter 3: Talk Radio
They say love's a many splendored thing. But not today. Turns out the monster Sakshi had barely managed to finish off last week was just a mere slave of a man named Jay, who is a minion of an even more evil entity known as Sikander, the leader of the NegaForce - the most potent, evil force that exists in the universe.
This week, the evil Jay and his minions have turned the power of love into a dangerous weapon, and it's up to Sailor Mrunal and her sidekick Lara to save the day. Will Sailor Mrunal succeed in the same? Keep reading to find out! * * *
Jay has discovered that humans spend a lot of energy on love, and sends his servant Fro to take advantage of this. He starts a radio program called the Love Line (under the name JD), and reads a love letter by Miss Lavanya (Sakshi's homeroom teacher), offering a romantic prize to whoever's letter they read on the air.
At college, Miss Lavanya is late for class. When she arrives, her energy has been drained by a flower broach she won on the Love Line. Lara encounters Sameer (whom Sakshi is friends with) at the arcade, and decides that the arcade should be her communications base.
Sakshi and her best friend Mayra were walking down the town streets, conversing about the latest buzz - the new radio station - the Love Line; completely unaware of the hidden agenda behind the same.
"I have a special project I'm working on." Mayra told Sakshi enthusiastically. "I'm gonna write the perfect love letter so it'll get read on the Love Line by the R.J.!"
"But you don't even have a boyfriend."
"I know, I'm just gonna invent one so I get my letter on the show!"
"Ohhh, smart Mayra! You can make the perfect guy!" Sakshi squealed in delight of the very thought, her eyes having a new-found sparkle. She started to mindlessly banter and list off the traits of her Mr. Right, "Handsome, smooth, totally cool - ooof!"
Her words were cut off as her body collided with a hard substance. As she tumbled backwards and fell to the ground, she realized that she had collided with someone's chest, and immediately got back up to apologize incessantly, without actually looking up at the person she had bumped into. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry."
Instead of expecting a reply like 'it's okay' or 'no worries', she heard Mayra's voice, "Arjun, kaise ho tum?" A surprised tone was evident in Mayra's voice.
Huh? Arjun... as far as I know, I didn't know anyone by that name. Maybe he was Mayra's friend?
Sakshi looked up with cautious eyes to see Arjun bellowing with laughter at her. She gasped in horror, it-it's him! Jerkface!
Anger filled her face's features as Arjun spoke, "Kya bolri thi tum abhi, about someone totally cool?" Charisma and charm was evident in his voice, but to Sakshi it was pure ghamand - he had a serious ego problem! So much anger was boiling up inside her as he spoke, so much that she felt her head would blow off any moment.
"Well, surely it isn't you," Arjun implied with a slight chuckle. "Shouldn't you be going home and doing your homework, choori ki dukaan?" He smirked, walking right past her down the street, but not without that brooding chuckle.
"DON'T call me that!!!" She called out to him as he walked away, her hands balled up into fists of fury.
While Sakshi was utterly aggravated and irritated at the man, Mayra was equally smitten by him, fresh blush visible on her cheeks. "I think I've just figured out who's gonna be the inspiration for my first love letter," She told Sakshi standing beside her, clearly smitten by Arjun. Her dazy state however was interrupted by Sakshi's outburst -
"Oh how's this for inspiration!" Furious at Arjun, she couldn't take it anymore and flailed her arms up in the air violently, screaming at the top of her lungs in frustration, "YOU'RE A CREEP ARJUN! YOU DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT BEING COOL!!!!"

Sakshi wrote a love letter, but when she tried to take it to the station, a guard told her there is no program called Love Line. Mayra's letter was read on the air, and she got a flower like Miss Lavanya's, which drains her energy. As soon as Mayra clipped the flower broach onto her shirt, she instantly fell into an unnatural deep slumber. Shocked at this revelation, Sakshi tried to nudge Mayra awake, but in the process got too close to the flower, and some of her energy was drained. Falling into instant slumber just like Mayra had moments before, Sakshi found herself floating in the sky, the moon in the backdrop illuminating the dark skies brightly.
She sighed deeply, enjoying the serenity and tranquility of the atmosphere as she floated through. Suddenly, a bit of a distance away, she spotted a familiar cape masked man with a magician's hat on his head,
Tuxedo Mask!
He turned his head slightly over his shoulder. Ah, that familiar bout of perfect black, hair, and the white mask that covered his eyes put her heart in frenzy once again.
"Aap mere sapne mein kya kar rahe hain?" She asked him.
"Kya hum koi danger mein hai?" She probed on. However, the masked felon stayed mum, not a single word lingering out his lips. "Haye, kitna mysterious hai," she muttered to herself in a low voice. "Maybe he wants to take me out on a coffee date!" She inwardly squealed at the thought of going out with her handsome saviour, and then giggled lightly.
"You've read my mind," the masked man replied with a smile and a low, husky voice.
Being the childish schoolgirl she was, Sakshi instantly perked up, caught up in utter bliss. She felt like bouncing off the walls out of happiness. "Iska matlab ki you'll tell me who you are?"
"Of course, we'll have no secrets," he said to her with a charming smile as he turned around to face her.
Sakshi was in seventh heaven, her head up in cloud 9, as he brought his hand up to the white, suave glasses that masked his face. Her breathing increased profoundly, and her heartbeat began to beat out of her chest. She couldn't believe it, she would finally know who her masked man was.
Her heart pounded harder in her chest, her breaths getting more heavy and her eyes glistening with anxiety but also excitement, as he lowered his mask more.
C'mon, just a little more. She wondered what colour his eyes would be. Blue like the serene ocean? Big, deep brown like chocolate?
She was just about to witness the sight of his probably expressive eyes, moments away from the masked man revealing his true identity.
"SAKSHI WAKE UPPP!!!" Lara's huge cat face with her whiskers came into her view, encompassing the whole scene.
Sakshi screamed as high as she could in response, "AHHH!" She almost flew off her bed, creeped out by Lara's voice.
Clearly, Lara had woken her up out of her dreamland, and told her that the NegaForce was behind all this - the whole deep slumber and flowers thing, not the fact that Tuxedo Mask was in her dream.

Lara and Sakshi arrived at the radio station, where the guard was not letting them inside. Lara gave Sakshi the Lara Pen, which she could use to disguise herself as something. She used it to turn into a sophisticated talent agent to enter the radio station. As Jay was talking on the radio, Sakshi barged in on the radio and told everyone of Jay's plan. That resulted in Sakshi getting attacked by Fro, who revealed her true beastly form. Sakshi transformed into Sailor Mrunal, and fought against Fro. Eventually, they got to the roof of the station, where Sailor Mrunal used Tiara Magic. Fro dodged it, but it came back at her and destroyed her. Sailor Mrunal then threw her tiara at Jay to get rid of the source of all these energy-draining monsters, but he stopped it without even lifting a finger, making it fall to the ground.
Sakshi didn't know what to do - her tiara has never not worked before! It was supposed to work! What was she gonna do now?
She decided to fight it out, just like the female superhero in her most prized video game she always played. She lunged at him with a sideways karate kick.
However, Jay was just too powerful for her, as she was about to witness. A power surge emanated out of his hand as he lifted it, his palm facing her foot effortlessly, and an invisible force field surrounded him.
Sakshi immediately felt she had collided with a brick wall, and the momentum sent her flying backwards from where she had started her fighting stance.
She began to whimper and slightly cower in fear as Jay advanced with each step towards her, an evil smirk across his face.
With each step that he took towards her inevitable doom, or so he thought, a whimper escaped Sakshi's lips, and her eyes became glossy, she couldn't move. Her heart was telling her to fight back, to defend herself, but her mind and body was stuck in place. She could only watch as Jay continued to walk towards her in a menacing manner. He looked so human, yet so evil.
This was it. It was over. Jay was but a few feet away from Sakshi's demise, pure evil written all across his face. He couldn't wait to destroy her completely.
Just a few more steps, Jay thought with a maniacal voice in his mind; but his sneering thoughts were stopped short by a familiar rose with red petals standing firmly on the ground, its stem slanted like before.
"Don't give in to him, Sailor Mrunal!" Jay saw the rose lain on the ground blocking his path, and heard a voice behind him. Clearly, he had a huge hero complex.
I'm outta here.
And with that, Jay disappeared in thin air, teleporting back to the NegaForce.
Once he was gone, Sakshi reverted her attention to that familiar masked man, who was standing on the ledge of the roof overlooking the street below. She gazed at him as he flew off into the darkness of the night with the aid of his cape acting as his wings, "I will fight with you."
Oh, he's so dreamy. I know we'll meet again another day, Tuxedo Mask.
