Riya was leaning against the window of Padmini's room.She was looking at the moon and was lost in her thoughts,where,her Sameer bhaiya used to recite stories and poems for her,so that she can go to sleep. Tears trickled down from her eyes as she was thinking that how her life drastically changed when her brother threw her out of the house,on the behest of Sakshi,the step sister of Sameer and Riya. How he blamed her to snatch Arjun from Sakshi.. Many thoughts were poking her conscience to forgive her brother for the mistake he committed.
Here,Arjun was in his office with the DIG and Comissioner,discussing about the gunshot on Padmini during the Holi Party. Arjun was lost in his thoughts. The mere thought of Padmini getting hurt shook him up from the core. Tears brimmed in his eyes when he saw his daughter,who cried loudly after hearing the gunshot. DIG and Comissioner could feel Arjun's pain.
''Arjun,tum ghar jao. Kuch lead mile toh main inform karunga tumhe.. Tumhe aaram ki zarurat hai.. Party mein dekha ki tum bohut darr gaye thhe Padmini ko aisi halat mein dekhke... Ghar jaake Riya se baat karo.. Talk to her.. Padmini ko dekho... Both the girls' are waiting for you..'' Comissioner said.
''Nahi,Sir.. Jabtak mujhe uss
shooter ke baare mein pata nahi chalta,tab tak,main nahi hilunga... Mujhe apni beti ki jaan sabse pyaari hai... Uss kamine ko jaan se maar dunga jisne yeh khel khela meri bacchi ke saath...'' Arjun answered,anger evident in his voice.
''Hmm..'' DIG answered...
Other side:
Meera was nursing his wounds.. It wasnt too much deep,but,not slight to be ignored. Sameer hissed as the dettol dipped cotton touched his wounds,giving him a stinging effect.. His mind relayed back to the morning's event. The way he saved Padmini. Her crying face,her red chubby cheeks reminded him of Riya whenever she used to cry for a chocolate in her childhood. A plain smile came across his face. Meera noticed it and she also smiled,a little. She remembered the expression Riya had when she saw Padmini and Sameer falling at the same time. She knew that Riya was affected by it,but,she would never show it,just like her brother.
Riya was in her deep thoughts,when,Padmini's babbling broke her thoughts. Padmini was playing with Daijaan in her cot with her toys and was babbling some weird noises. Riya wiped her tears and went towards her daughter.
''Kya hua meri Paddo ko? Kya bol rahi hai Paddo?'' Riya asked Padmini.
''Mama...'' Padmini innocently replied.
Riya's head shot up hearing Padmini taking her Mamu's name. Padmini was continuously chanting Sameer's name,by addressing him as Mamu.. She felt happy. Padmini was also happy. She was smiling a lot.Riya thought that,she cant snatch the rights from Sameer and Padmini,as they share a relation of uncle and niece.
''Nahi.. Main aise hi Padmini ka dil dukhha nahi sakti. Padmini kabse apne Sameer Mamu ko dhund rahi hai aur yahaan main hu ki itni swarthi hogayi ki apni bacchi ko apne Mamu aur Mami ke pyaar ka haq nahi derahi hu... Jo beet gaya,so beet gaya... Aaj Bhai ne meri bacchi ko bachaya hai. Pata nahi,kitni chotey aayi hai unko.. Dettol ke chune se bhi kitna hichak uthte hai... Kya karu main? Mujhe Bhai se maafi mangni hogi.. Main kal jaungi unse milne... Meera ko call karke batati hu...'' Riya made up her mind and decided to call Meera and let her know about it.
Riya took her phone and called Meera.Meera was shocked yet happy to see Riya calling. She answered the phone and both the ladies' talked like anything,after so many years. Riya told Meera about her decision.Meera was really very happy and excited about it... Both the ladies talked for a while,when,in the middle of the convo,Riya asked about her Bhaiya,to which Meera replied that he is fine.
''Riya,ek minute rukna zara...'' Meera says and excuses herself to have a look at her laptop. What she saw,shook her from inside.
''Riya... Yeh...'' Meera stuttered.
''Kya hua,Meera? Itni ghabrayi hui kyun ho? Baat kya hai?'' Riya asked.
''Main tujhe ek mail bhej rahi hu.. Usse check kar.. Tujhe sabkuch automatically pata chal jayega...'' Meera replied.
''Ok.. Ek minute rukna.. Main check karti hu..'' Riya replied.
Riya sat down with her laptop and checked Meera's mail. As she read the contents,she was shell shocked after reading it. She immediately forwarded the mail to Arjun..
''Tujhe yeh mila kaha se?'' Riya asked.
''Mere ek maasi ki beti hai.. Crime journalist hai woh... Maine usko iss bare mein bataya.. Usne apne sources se pata lagwake yeh news mujhe di hai... Main toh bohut shocked hogayi hu.. Arjun ko bataya?'' Meera asked.
''Maine parhte hi mail Arjun ko forward kardia hai... Kya hoga ab?''
''Sab Bhagaan pe chhor de tu... Shiv ji kuch bura nahi hone denge... Tension mat le...'' Meera replied.
''I hope so...'' Riya replied and disconnected the phone.
