Chapter 19
Sakshi followed Arjun to his office room
Sakshi saw Arjun taking suitcase from a cupboard and opened it. Sakshi also sat with him. It was full of Roshni's pictures and albums. He started to show those pictures to Sakshi. He showed her their wedding album as well. Sakshi couldn't understand his real feeling now but still she was happy that he is sharing these things with her.
"Arjun why are you showing these pictures to me?" Asked Sakshi
"This will be the last time we will be looking at these pictures. I am going to give all these to Roshni's parents. " said Arjun
"You don't have to avoid Roshni Arjun, you can keep the pictures, I personally don't have any problem"
Said Sakshi
"I know Sakshi and I am not avoiding it. Roshni's parents deserve to have these pictures. When we move on our life all these pictures and all these memories will be hidden in some corner of our house. I don't want that, if I give this to her parents they will keep it very well."
"Ok no problem. But I want to keep this one" said Sakshi and took one picture of Roshni from those
They both sat there for a long time watching the pictures. He talked a lot to Sakshi that night - about Roshni, their life etc. she doesn't understand why all of a sudden he started to talk like this, but she listened to him. She felt that he needed a talk. She knew that he will be fine when he share all his worries with someone.
Then Sakshi went to sleep to her room. But after sometime Arjun came to her room and lied down next to her
"I don't want to sleep alone" then he snuggled closer to her like a child and hugged her tightly. Sakshi saw a very different vulnerable Arjun today. It was so new to her even though deep down she knew that he is very soft and not that strong. She caressed his hair and kissed his forehead. Then she heard Arjun
"Sakshi listen to me carefully"
"Yes Arjun, I am.. Tell me"
"What ever happens in your life connected with Sikkandar or anything please do tell me. Even someone threaten you with my life or anything, please tell me. Don't hide anything please. I don't want to lose you. I want to live a normal life" said Arjun emotionally
"Sure Arjun, I will never hide anything from you and I will never leave you alone. I have only you Arjun. You are the reason I live and I love you so much more than you imagine " said Sakshi emotionally
Arjun is hugged her more tightly if that's possible and then he kissed her forehead and then even before Sakshi get time to realize what's happening, he kissed her lips. He was kissing her with so much of urgency. When Sakshi came out of that shock she started responding to him. She knew this sudden kiss was due to his vulnerable state but she let him do whatever he wants after all he is her husband and he has that right.
He doesn't know what suddenly happened to him. But he felt right. He felt peace and calm. Those words from Sakshi really touched his heart.He knew this moment that he loves Sakshi. He shares all his worries in that kiss. But he didn't want anything to happen all of a sudden so he slowly stopped the kiss and said
"Don't leave me Sakshi please, I will die"
Sakshi couldn't control anymore. Tears started rolling down from her eyes.
"I won't Arjun, I never will.." And then they both hugged each other and slept
Next Morning
Sakshi's sleep got interrupted when her phone beeped. It was a text from Sameer. He asked both of them to take leave that day and sit at home. Sakshi was thankful to Sameer as she also didn't feel like working today. It was already 10 am when she checked the time. She looked at Arjun who was snuggling to her and was still in a deep sleep. So Sakshi slowly got up without disturbing him and went to kitchen. She did all her household work. It was 11.30 when Arjun came down. Sakshi was surprised that he slept like this last night. She thought it will be a very disturbed sleep.
She can still remember Arjun's lips on her's and she smiled thinking those moments.
By 11.30 Arjun came down to kitchen
"Arjun, looks like you slept well" said Sakshi with a smile
"Hmm. Why didn't you call me?" Asked Arjun
"you were in deep sleep. So I didn't want to disturb. I thought you will have a disturbed sleep. But you slept well" said Sakshi
"Even I thought so but I slept really well. Don't know why" said Arjun even though he knew the reason.
"Go and take bath.. Then I will give you tea" said Sakshi with a smile
After some time he came down after taking bath
"How are you feeling now?" Asked Sakshi
"Fresh and calm" said Arjun and continued "even though it was a big shock and the exact opposite of my calculation, I think I am able to accept it. May be my subconscious mind already knew that the reason for her death was different, that's why I was so restless and disturbed. Now at last when the truth came out I feel that a new source of light came removing all the darkness in my mind " said Arjun
Sakshi smiled. She was afraid if Arjun will go back to his old depressed self, but he totally accepted it this time.
"I am proud of you Arjun" said Sakshi
"I think only now I accepted her death completely. Knowing the true reason behind her death does make a difference. I feel so light now" said Arjun
"What is your plan now" asked Sakshi
"Need to close that case with actual facts and I need to search that Dr's house as well. Don't know if commissioner sir will allow that and we need to go to Simla to bring Akshita. I need to talk to Roshni's parents before that" Said Arjun
"That's good, even I was planning to go there. I want to show you my house" said Sakshi
"I never knew you had a house there" said Arjun
"Ya I bought it when I got a job there. " said Sakshi
"Ok so we will go there. But first we need to complete the formalities of this case" said Arjun
"Sakshi, that day you told me about your interview in The Sunrise International school, Simla.you mentioned a girl who was Roshini's student right?"
"Oh god how did I forget that? Her name was Akshita. Will she be the same girl?"
"That's what I think" said Arjun "will see"
It took more than two weeks for Arjun and Sameer to complete the formalities. Arjun is generally fine but sometimes his mood will be low as that shock is still fresh. They investigated that Doctor's case and closed the file with facts. They closed all the cases now except for Sikkandar. But he is sure he will be able to track him soon as it will not affect his emotions and brain anymore. And now he needs to find him for Sakshi. These two weeks were so important in their life. He closed Roshni's chapter both in official way and personal way. Sakshi supported him a lot during this time. He realizes his emotional attachment to Sakshi will not go away. Now he completely realizes that he is in love
One night he came home exhausted and relieved after completing all these things. He just sat on the sofa and soon Sakshi made tea for him. He took the glass and watched her. Now he can feel that he is entering in to a new life. A life without guilt and revenge. He is really thankful to Sakshi for the support she has given.
"Thank you Sakshi" said Arjun
"Oh that's a first.. I have been doing this for a long time and now you are thanking me" said Sakshi
"I didn't mean the tea..come here sit" Said Arjun softly dragging her to the sofa " Sakshi I don't even know what I would have done without you. I would be still searching for Sikkandar if you haven't found that video. Thank you so much for everything you have done" then he paused and said in a low voice "and.. and thank you so much for coming in to my life. I never realized that my life was so dry until you started living with me"
Sakshi smiled and thought " Hmm that was an almost confession" they both were totally avoiding their kiss and talk that night. After that night she very well knows that Arjun loved her. But he never said anything to her and Sakshi needs him to express that openly
"I am happy that I could help but I don't need your 'Thank You' Arjun" said Sakshi
"What do you need then" asked Arjun even though he knew the answer
" You know what I need Arjun" said Sakshi
Arjun just looked away but didn't say anything. He knew that he loves her, but confessing that openly to her! - that's not his style. "One should understand from the gestures, if it's true love no confession is needed" thought Arjun
That night both of them went to sleep thinking about each other. Here Sakshi is planning to make him confess and there Arjun is planning to make her realize his love without a confession
