Weeks went by, Arjun and Sakshi kept avoiding each other; they drank coffee in the kitchen at the same time, however chose to sit separately, they had meetings in the conference hall where they discussed the new issues but do not have a talk, they bumped into each other yet they never apologized.

A Saturday Morning,

Door bell rang.

Buddy, tum!:)

Haan sweetypie! :) yaad kar rahi thi naa mujhe!

Haan!! Tumhe kaise pta chala!

Bas kya karu apni buddy ki dil ki baat jaanli maine ;) Maa hai?!!

Heheheh...haan...darr lag raha hai??! ;)

Nahi, nahi main teri maa se nahi darta!

Arjun flattens his t-shirt's collar to look cool.

Oh...thik hai toh phir kitchen mein maa se baat karo, toh jaanu

Haan haan, kyun nahi :)

Arjun heads to the kitchen while Jia follows him.

"Hey Sakshi!" :) Arjun greeted.

Sakshi was shocked to see Arjun but decided to ignore him.

Arjun: Sakshi sab thik hai naa?

Sakshi was trying her best to ignore Arjun; she stood up on a stool in the meantime.

Arjun: main utar doon vo dibba..?

Sakshi: nahi, please Arjun tum...main kar lungi

Arjun: chal Jia teri nani se milke aate hai :)

Sakshi: phew! Gaya!

She saw Arjun leaving the kitchen.

A few moments later,

Sakshi screamed as loud as possible and closed her eyes tightly.

Arjun: tum aankhe khol sakti ho.

Sakshi opened her eyes and saw Arjun in front of her; holding her in his arms with his hands around her waist. She held him by placing her right hand on his chest and the other hand around his neck.

Arjun looked deeply in her eyes, he could see an unpleasant physical sensation in her which gave him an intimation that she needed someone, someone who understands what's its to be like a divorcee; taking care of a child who needs her father. Sakshi needed her companion with her who would love her under any circumstances and simply love her for her pure heart.

Sakshi was noticing how Arjun was looking at her intensely.

"Arjun, please" Sakshi requested him while looking at the ground.

Arjun carefully let her go.

Arjun: Tum thik ho?

Sakshi: Thik hoon ya nahi kya pharak parta hai?

Arjun: Mujhe parta hai, Sakshi!

She glanced at him while he picked up the stool from which she had fallen and took out the jar she wanted.

"Thanks" Sakshi took the jar hesitantly from Arjun.

"Namaste Aunty" Arjun greeted Sakshi's mom as she came in the kitchen.

"Namaste Beta, Arre Sakshi jaa chai banna de Arjun ke liye" Her mom requested Sakshi.

"Haan Maa" Sakshi said coldly.

Mom: Beta, tum photography karte ho naa, magazine ke liye? J

Arjun: ji J Aap Sakshi ki mom...?

Mom: haan beta...

Arjun: sorry mein...aapko...aise

Mom: nahi beta thik hai...naa jaane kahan galti ho gayi mujhse aur Sakshi ki zindagi barbad hogayi...kher tum btao...ghar mein kaun kaun hai?
Arjun: ghar mein mom, dad hain aur choti behen hai..

Mom: toh sab yahan par hai, Mumbai mein?

Arjun: nahi, vo Delhi mein rehte hai and main yahan ek apartment mein rehta hoon. J

Mom: Mumbai pasand hai beta? J

Arjun: haan, Mumbai mein bahut kuch hai karne ko! J

Mom: Sakshi ne ghumaya Mumbai?

Arjun smiles and looks behind to see if Sakshi has come or not.

"Actually, aapki beti mujhe zyaada pasand nahi karti hai, aunty!" Arjun whispered.

Her mom giggled more than Jia did.

Mom: beta, usse baar baar puchta rahega toh vo haath nahi aayegi J usse ehsaas dilao ki tum uske dost ban sakte ho aur dekhna vo dosti karlegi :)

"Aunty aapko lagta hai ki vo raazi ho jaayegi?" Arjun was doubtful about Sakshi.

Mom: pehle nakhre dikhayegi par fir maan jayegi. :)

Jia smiled and wished that Arjun brings a new ray of hope in their lives. Just then Sakshi came with tea for Arjun and her mom.

Arjun: Thanks Sakshi :)

Sakshi smiled but then made a frown. She sat down next to Jia and Jia hugged her, smilingly. Arjun drank his tea and bid bye to the family.

Next Morning

"Chal, Arjun, its going to be a tough day! Hmm..ehsaas dilau..Sakshi ko..really its impossible! God, aaj mujhe bakra mat banne dena, please!" Arjun prayed while talking to himself.

He took a deep breath and easily accessed Sakshi's cabin and put something in her cabin and left. He left the room and looked at the ceiling, folding his hands.

Sakshi soon arrived in her cabin and she saw a cup of coffee with a small chit placed underneath the cup.

"Mujhse dosti karogi,

Arjun :)"

Sakshi smiles but suddenly she changed it into a stern look. She put the coffee mug aside and started working. After a few minutes she looked out in the office and noticed Arjun had gone.

"Mat karo aisa Arjun, main tumhe hurt nahi karna chahti hoon lekin tum koi choice hi nahi chodte mere liye.Agar mujhse dosti karoge toh main dard ke alwa kuch aur de nahi paungi; Siddharth ko nahi de payi thi kuch aur!" A drop of tear fell from her eyes and she hugged a photo frame kept on her table.

Meanwhile, Arjun was feeling bad that he is not good enough for Sakshi's friendship; he wanted to make Sakshi smile again, jump with joy and give her all the happiness she deserves.

The whole day passed through with pain and thought however Arjun and Sakshi were quiet all the day. It was almost 6 pm when Arjun saw Sakshi coming out of the office.

Arjun: Sakshi, main drop kar doon!

Sakshi: nahi! Main chali jaungi. Bye

She headed to the main road and waited for a cab. Arjun was feeling miserable and thought to try once more hence he drove his car to where Sakshi was waiting for the cab.

"Chalo!" Arjun signaled her to get in the car.

Yet she ignored him and started walking towards the taxi stand. Arjun drove to the taxi stand although there were no taxis there.

Suddenly, there was a rumble of thunder; the rumbling grew louder in a few minutes along with the appearance of black clouds and cold wind blowing from the blackened sky.

Sakshi still kept walking in such a climate with all that the rain came down and it drenched Sakshi completely, Arjun couldn't resist more thus he rushed to Sakshi and covered her with his jacket he was wearing. Sakshi looked up to him and took the jacket off from her shoulders however Arjun stopped her from removing the jacket and placed it back on her shoulders.

Arjun: Sakshi, jhagda baad mein kar lena, its quite late let me drop you home.

Sakshi sat in his car without saying a word to him. Soon, they reached Sakshi's house. Arjun opened the door for her and she got out.

Sakshi: mujhe tumhari hamdardi nahi chahiye!! Tum yeh baat kyun nahi samjh rahe ho Arjun?? Please, abse mujhse door raho! Please!

She folded her hands in front of Arjun. She moved a step away from him though he grabbed both her forearms and pulled her to his chest.

Arjun: tum samjhti kya ho, HAAN! Itne dino se main sab bardash kar raha hoon iska matlab hai tum kuch bhi karogi??? Tum kisi ki parwa kaise kar sakti ho; tumhare paas toh dil hi nahi hai!

Sakshi looked away for a minute. Both realized how close they were; Arjun could hear her breath, her heartbeat that was rising faster than before. Arjun tightened his grip of her forearm, which caused Sakshi's eyes to drop a tear on her cheeks.

Sakshi: Ar...j..un! Please mujhe jaane do!

Arjun: Sakshi, tum jaisi ladki sirf ladko ko use karna jaanti hai aur kuch nahi!

Sakshi glanced at him; arjun released her forearms and she gave him a tight slap on the cheek.

Arjun: tum aur kya kar sakti ho, Sakshi! Bye!

Arjun drove his car to home.
