she cut the call, and closed her eyes, sighing softly. turning to him, she forced a smile.
''good night.''
''but dinner?'' arjun asked surprised. she nodded in a not- interested way , and he nodded assuringly. she went to her room and closed the door.
arjun and riya were in live in relaationship from past 6 months. riya was searching for nice apartment, and arjun literally dragged her in this house. they were both living in separate room since then, not breaking their boundaries and not tempted to do so...but the best thing happened in this was both were together under same room, often got some quality time with each other, and knew each other now more greatly.
arjun and riya were like chawk and cheese, so different from each other that its hard to digest these two contrasting people love each other so madly. riya is like a angle, spread happiness among all, and for arjun she is like color in his life. but this angle is a walking demon when it comes to work. being both police officer, they often had to deal with nasty people and hard core criminals, where arjun believes in keep calm and do all work with patience, riya believes in "how much i can keep calm?'' and believe torture and killing all bad guys will solve every problem. they often loggerheads with each other, but they agree to disagree. riya's partner in crime, shree, who is ready to throw his life for her. and the other sane person in ETF apart from shree- riya who support arjun's harish chandra mentality is sameer and aisha, thus matching the ratio. sameer the chief who and arjun were friends since childhood. sameer is dating aisha, and shree is still very much single and a big time flirt. apart from them there is chotu, the commando in ETF...he often lends a hand to riya when it comes to maar dhaar.
full night arjun tossed in his bed thinking why riya is so tensed the whole day. this morning she got a call, and since then she is upset. she most of the time speak what she feels, but sometimes she dont tell what she feels, to avoid hurting other people.
what is it? arjun asked to himself, and didnt get any answer. he decided next morning he will ask this.
he woke up at 6 in morning, his regular habit. he stopped in front of riya's room, and decided to see if she is sleeping peacefully or not. its like a habit for him, waking up every morning and watching her sleep. she is always a late riser, most of the time they are late for office and arjun had to drive like maniac to reach the office, but of course he never complains. sameer often says he is spoiling riya to the core, and in reply arjun fondly smile. he loves her too much to even scold her.
arjun open the door silently and saw the bed is empty. the bed does not look like someone had slept on it whole night. he frowned in confusion, she didnt sleep whole night? then it must be a big thing...sleep is too precious for her. apart from late night office works, the last time she skipped sleep during when her mom was in hospital.
arjun walked toward hall room, and saw riya standing near fridge and sipping water. she looked at him and give a small smile, which didnt reach her eyes. arjun's heart sink little, and he walked toward her.
''good morning. she said and kept the bottle in fridge. arjun nodded.
''neend ayi?'' he asked, and she looked at his eyes, nodding in negative. he was right, she didnt sleep at all.
''do you want to talk about it?'' arjun asked, and riya understood he is asking about why she is so tensed. she nodded in negative, means not now.
he slowly went near her, and hold her by waist. pulling her to him closer, he pecked her forehead.
''if you want to talk, i am there, ok?'' he asked softly. she nodded and closed her eyes. he rested his head on her, and both cherised the moment.
the vibrating of the phone break the silence. arjun picked it up, not freeing her from his hold. it was from office, some dead body was found in sea side.
''case.'' he said and looked at her and she nodded in response.

sameer and arjun were in sam's cabin, discussing about the case. arjun was engrossed in the file of victim's life history, and sam was looking at him, thinking to ask something or not.
''sam, what is it?'' arjun asked him not shifting his gaze from file. he knew sam was looking at him every now and then.
''tujhe kuch bataya riya ne?'' sam asked. arjun's head snapped up at the mention of riya. he shook his head in no.
''mujhe pata tha...uff ye ladki.'' sam muttered. arjun's eyes narrowed.
''what is it?'' he asked cautiously. what is the matter that riya is not telling to him, and even sam know about it?
''yesterday she got a call from DIG office...she didnt tell you?'' sam asked in disbelieve. he was surprised and confused riya didnt tell him D news.
''sam, stop giving me heart attacks. what is it?'' arjun threw the file on the table in frustration and looked at him intently, the way he look at criminals to dominate them. it worked.
''she got a offer yaar...to work in a high profile undercover mission in london.'' sam said at last, and arjun was shocked out of his wits. never in his wildest dream he thought something like this.
this was the news which made her so tensed? he thought in mind. sam shook his head in unbelievable way.
''i dont understand...she would have been so happy at the news, right? its like her dream come true...tujhe yaad hain, woh action films dekh ke kaisi woh wish karti thi, ki woh bhi aise kisi missing ka part bane? her dream has finally come true...what is it?'' the reason was beyond sam's brain. arjun was looking at the floor in deep thinking.
''can we take the day off?'' he asked all of a sudden. sam nodded in confusion. arjun got up from his seat and literally ran toward outside.
''ye ho kya raha hain?'' sam said to himself, and then shook his head vigorously. in dono ki baatein normal people ke samajh ke bahar hain, he said to himself.

arjun dragged riya from office, and now both are in beach, sitting on the sand, enjoying fresh air and sunset. the atmosphere is so peaceful. riya was looking at the sea, and arjun was looking at her, like always.
she turned her head to him, and asked through her eyes what is it? arjun break the eye contact and took a deep breath.
''sam said me about the offer u got.''
his words didnt shock her. of course sameer sir will tell him, she thought to herself. it was just a matter of time before the news reached arjun's ear.
she didnt give any reaction to the news. arjun looked at her face one more time.
''and you want to go.'' he said softly. riya again didnt give any reaction...of course she wants to go, but the question is why she is not making her move.
''riya, say something.'' he urged her, and she looked away. the setting sun creating red effect on her face.
''are you not going because of me?'' he asked all of a sudden, and riya's head snapped at him. he just said it without thinking much, and it hit at the right place, so she is not going because of him.
''will you let me go?'' she asked like a child. arjun smirked, and nodded his head in 'unbelievable' way.
''riya, we are in a relationship, it does not mean you have to ask my permission. its your life, and its your choice.''
she tried to say something in protest, but arjun cut her, finishing his words, ''and i will always support what you do.''
riya smiled, smiled from her heart, and arjun's heart melted. she really wants this, but torturing herself because of him, silly girl.
she at once got up from the sitting position, and called someone. arjun grinned as he knows who it could be...shree, of course! she always share any news of her life with him very first.
the both friends animatedly chatted in phone, and riya's face was bursting with happiness. arjun looked at her, his smile faded. he wants her to be happy, but in deep he is sad...sad to let her go, sad that she wont be present in his life for a time span. deep down there is a small fear to...if she hurt herself? she is so impulsive and reckless, many times she hurt herself during work, and arjun was always hyper, though how small the cut was. its a mission, and he had an idea how dangerous it could be. he is not doubting her ability...she is the best encounter specialist in the country currently, and he is proud of her. as a lover, he will always be so concerned of her.
she cut the call and turned to her, grinning ear to ear. he also smiled in response, and her smile widened as riya suddenly hugged him tight, burying her head in his chest. his hands automatically reached her waist, pulling her close. he buried his face in her hair, shooing off all negative thoughts in his heart. she raised her hand, to look at his.
''mom ka khayal rakhoge na?'' she asked seriosuly. there are only two person in her life, and she loved them too much. arjun smiled as he tucked a hair behind her ear.
''of course...she is my mom too, right?''
she nodded her head, now the last hesitation in her mind went. arjun will take care of her mom, and arjun will take care of himself. now she can concentrate fully on kick some ass on her mission, hopefully. she grinned as she thought the halat of the criminals after her karate and shooting skills.
