But Arjun stepped back.. the shock had him real bad. He didn't notice that he's standing on the edge and

Water had hit him hard.. but he liked it.
He heard gasps.. which was natural. and Saakshi calling him. But he wanted to stay in the water. Far away from what was waiting for him outside this cold water. But his bad luck..water wasn't that deep.
"What's wrong with you, Mr Rawte?" He heard another female voice.. when he finally emerged from the water.
Saakshi hurried towards him.. making him sit on the edge. "Are you okay?"
Of course not. You kiddin'?
"Yeah.. I'm fine. Don't worry." He said in a low voice, avoiding her gaze. He unbuttoned his black blazer and Saakshi helped him to get out of it.
Someone whistled, catching everyone's attention. Arjun looked at the new entry. A pretty girl in black was gaping at him.
Of course.. drooling on his broad shoulder which now clung to his white shirt. What a sight!
Both Saakshi and Siddharth glared at her. She shrugged it off. "Are you alright, hottie?" she asked, as Arjun stood up.
Arjun nodded. She smiled and introduced herself. "Hi! I'm Shanaya Ma..heshwari."
"And of course, you are the most handsome businessman of all time."
If it was another day and another situation, he would have blushed but now he was numb. He hurriedly shook her hand and searched for an excuse.
"Umm.. look guys, I'm really sorry. Mere bajese sab kuch kharab ho gaya hai. But you guys enjoy.. I'll be back, I need to change." Arjun said, faking a smile.
"Sure dude." Siddharth patted on his back. Oh how he wanted to grab that hand and break it in two!

Back in his room, Arjun played back the events and cursed. How bad can this can?
He fell in love once in a his lifetime.. and it was unrequited.
He couldn't be with the woman he loved.Cause she was in love with someone else.Hell, was going to marry someone else.
And he didn't know what to do.
Once in the shower, he let water to take away everything that was killing him. But hell, it got worse.. the heartache was inexpiable. He stayed under the water until his skin gave away.
He didn't know the time.. but given the loud knocking on his door, he realized he might be inside for hours. He took a fresh towel from the rack and wrapped it around his waist. (Why?)
He took another towel and dried his hair with it. Opening the bathroom door, he found himself face to face with none other than.. Saakshi.
Saakshi was about to knock on the door again but then he emerged in nothing but a velvet towel.
Geez, talk about awkwardness and Adonis at the same time.
Saakshi flushed and looked the other way. Arjun seemed unaffected.. that's not the first time she had seen him in something less than his usual formal pants.
Arjun walked upto the closet and searched for some shirt. "How did you get in?"
"Chotu had your spare key. Sorry, woh bas bohot der ho gayi thi na.. I wanted to check on you." Saakshi murmured, taking a sneak peak of his bare back.
Arjun put on a Blue V neck and jeans while Saakshi stood facing the opposite with her eyes closed. (Gadheri)
"So?" He asked. "So what?" Saakshi asked, confused. She faced him, he was standing with his hands on his hips.
"How did it happen?" he asked again, unusually calm. "How what happened?" she asked, again. Totally distracted by the I-Just-had-a-shower look he was donning.
"This." He pointed towards her ring finger, not looking happy.. at all.
"Oh.."
"You know.. we met each other and we instantly clicked together. We went out..He's just so wonderful!" Saakshi dreamily said, totally unaware that the other person was gritting his teeth.
She went on and on about their dates and Arjun fought an urge to break something..or everything.
"So right before you came.. he asked me out and I said yes!" She beamed at him showing him her ring.
"How could you say yes? You're not even in love with him. Hell, you don't even know him." Arjun growled, unable to control himself anymore.
Saakshi was taken aback. "I think I love him Arjun." She said in a low voice.
"You think you love him? How could you possibly even in love with him whom you've just met?" Arjun snarled, closing on her.
This made Saakshi mad and she hissed back, "What do YOU know about love?"
"I know exactly what it is. And this madness you are in, is not love!" He hissed, leaving less than an inch between them. She stepped back.
"You know nothing.. nothing Arjun."
"Ever loved someone Arjun? Anyone? Ever?" she snapped at him. He opened his mouth and fumbled for words.
Yeah, you. I love you.
"No." he sighed. Saakshi glared at him and then pushed him away.
"I thought so. Now don't tell me what love is." With that she left, banging the door closed.

Arjun counted the steps she had taken.. as her words sank in.
She was right. What he knew about her love? What was he thinking? That she might be in love with HIM but denying.. him out of all the people.
And why would she love him? He never gave her a reason to.
Surely he meant a great deal to her also.. but just as a friend.
Ouch.. didn't that hurt.
But if she thought he was going to sit back and watch her take steps that might destroy her life.. she was wrong.
He wouldn't let anything happen to her.
He searched for his phone and then dialed a number.
"I have a work for you."

"Tu na chullu bhar paani mein doob ja!" she screamed, nearly making him deaf.
"Aab maine kya kiya?" he snapped back.
"Kya kiya? Idiot.. tune poora plan ka korma faluda bana diya." She growled.
"Korma faluda jaise kuch nehi hota." He reminded her.. but one glare from her, he zipped his mouth shut.
"You ruined it."
"haan, but unhe humpe shaq toh nehi hai na." he protested. She glared at him again but nodded too.
"They are idiots. Dono k dono." She grinned.. while he laughed.
