He had just returned home…no not home just a shelter… when he heard his phone ringing. The unknown number….again

Arjun: "Hello…hello…koun hai? Agar baat nahi karni toh phone kyu karte ho?? Hello…"

And the line went dead. This was the 5^th time in 5 days that he had received a blank call from the same number. He wasn't scared just annoyed. Or perhaps deep down he was a bit afraid… just a bit… because the last time he'd received such calls was…He didn't want to think about it…it was impossible…but he wasn't so sure…not anymore… Pathan's return and then that drug racket… they were both hinting at something deeper…something dangerous…"No", he corrected himself, "they were pointing towards SOMEONE dangerous…very dangerous". He knew he'd have to find out about them so that he could pacify himself…reassure himself.

Just then his phone rang again.

Arjun: Hello….

Girl: aap bohot bure ho. Main aapse katti hun…mujhe aapse baat nahi karni..

The little girl's voice made him smile…just like it always did..

"Toh meri musky-chusky ne mujhe phone kyu kiya? Aur voh mujhse gussa kyu hai?" Arjun asked,innocently…

Girl: "kyuki mijhe ninni nahi aa rahi thi…aur mai gussa isliye hun kyuki aap mujhe phone karna bhul gaye… main aapse baat nahi karungi."

"Accha toh kya chup rehne ke liye phone kiya hai?" Arjun's smile had changed into a wide grin…

Girl: "haan… main chup rahungi aur aap bologe…aap mujhe bedtime story sunaoge…aur voh bhi lambi vaali…samjhe ya samjhao?"

"samajh gaya, par mujhe toh story aati hi nahi…ab kya karein?"

"hmmm….mujhe pata tha ki aap yahi kahoge…aap mujhe bilkul pyaar nahi karte na…thik hai…ab main kabhi aapko phone nahi karungi…mummy aur papa toh kaam mein busy rehte hain aur ab toh aapne…mere BFF ne bhi mujhe dhoka de diya…."

And she pretends to cry….

"Dramebaaz no. 1" he mutters to himself before saying to her" thik hai baba..Sorry…

"sorry keh reh toh iss baar baksh rahi hun par poori maafi ke liye kahani sunani padegi…varna.."

"Story toh main suna doonga par pehle yeh batao ki itni badi-badi batein karna kaha se sikha?"

"Movies se…Aapko kaise pata hoga, tum toh movies dekhte hi nahi…how boring…"

Suddenly muskaan's mother calls her "bohot late ho gaya hai…tum soyi nahi… Chalo… room mein chalo…"

"Bye buddy…kal baat kartein hain…story ready rakhna…aur haan I miss you..tum mujhse milne kab aaoge…kitne din ho gaye...iss baar promise mat todna"

"Muskaaan…phone rakho…come on, be a good girl"

"haan mummy…bye buddy…goodnight.."

She hands over the phone to her mother and leaves….

Akansha: "Arjun..."

But the line had already gone dead…

Akansha sighed…what else could she do..and thought to herself…"kaash ek din tum sirf muskaan se nahi balki mujhse bhi baat karne ke liye phone karo…I am waiting for that day…and I miss you…" As she switched off the lights she resolved to herself," galti meri hai…toh pehel bhi toh mujhe hi karni chahiye…main tumse baat karke rahoongi and I'll make sure you can't avoid me…not this time.."

Meanwhile at Ravi Lodge;

Arjun had heard her voice and it had triggered memories he didn't want to remember. Memories which he couldn't suppress…they made him restless and sleepless and the worst part was that they made him vulnerable. He had thought he'd moved on but his heart knew the truth. The truth which he hated to admit. The truth which was worrying him…his mind replayed the conversation he had just had with his niece…what if something happened…"no…nothing will happen. Those calls are just a prank…." He assured himself, but his heart was filled with an inexplicable fear…almost like an evil foreboding… and this worried him for it had been almost two years since he had had that feeling…"I'll have Shree look into it…tomorrow itself."

With these thoughts, he closed his eyes only to hear the alarm ring just a moment later…He cursed his fate before getting ready for his morning jog…It was going to be a long day..And his intuitions never betrayed him…at least they hadn't till now.
