Hey Vidya.. Thanks for actually taking out the time and coming up with such interesting questions.. 😉
'Since your ffs indicate that u are a hard core romantic, most qns are also based on that'..'
Dear, let me clarify here.. I'm not a hard core romantic in real life.. It's just that certain fictional characters make me fall in love with them and my love for them flows out in the form of my writings..
But yes, I'm not a sadu taipes.. Just that I don't like too much mush.. 😛 I'm going to forward this bit to my fiance and his expressions will be worth-seeing.. 😛 Poor fellow's been struggling to romance me (read, impress) for the last 6 years.. 😉😆
Okay here are answers to your questions.. 😃
1. Which is your favorite book? And why?
It's a tie here.. Since I could never bring myself to pick between the two all these years..
No. 1 would be the eternal classic love story, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.. I simply love her portrayal of characters.. Her characters have these shades of grey and yet are adorable to the T.. The epic love story between Lizzy and Mr. Darcy has been immortalized by the author and is my personal favorite! 😳
No.2 had to be A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks.. I happened to read this one by chance since my bestfriend gifted it to me.. And I wasn't disappointed.. It started off as a story of two contrastingly different individuals falling in love and how entwined their lives had become so much so that even death couldn't separate them.. Landon and Jamie are representative of what we refer to as 'the opposites attract phenomenon' these days..
I'd have to say that this book is hugely responsible for changing my perception of 'love'.. Though my writings may indicate otherwise, I'm a very rational and not the quintessential romantic when it comes to the real Me..
However, this book touched me in ways more than one.. And as goes the famous quote from the book, I now believe, that miracles can happen."
And yes, have to add, the movie was splendid too..
2. Whats ur fiance's name? [u can skip it if its too personal]
It is personal, but I don't mind sharing it here.. His name is Darshan.. After all, Jab pyaar kiya toh darna kya?!! 😛
3. Whats the sweetest gesture anybody has done for you? [love, friendship'can be anything]
I don't intend to brag about it.. But too many people have done many special things for me.. Be it my friends, family or my fiance..
But here's one I will probably cherish all my life, coz it was done by someone I love the most in the world!
I play the keyboard and as you must knw by now, I love music, esp. Hindi romantic numbers.. I used to make it a point to practice and perfect every song/tune I'd come across.. My fav being 'Kaise main kahoon tujhse, RHTDM' (okay that was offtrack)
But somehow, I could never perfect one.. that being the piano tune that is played in the title track of Kal Ho Na Ho..
I'd often crib about it to my younger brother, who's 8 yrs younger to me.. He, unlike me hates the keyboard..
And so, I was left speechless and in tears at my engagement function, when my brother played the tune live in the banquet hall, dedicating it to me.. I can never thank him enough for that!
So that'd be the sweetest thing someone's done for me..
4. Do you believe in love at first sight?
No! I don't.. Contrary to what popular belief, I personally think the 'concept of love at first sight' is impractical.. You can't really fall in love with someone at one glance/or in a single meeting..
Yes, you may be attracted to the extent of even misunderstanding it as love.. But I don't think you can fall in love just like that'
It takes a lot more than that.. (P.S.: Took me 5 years to finally accept it.. :D) Okay, maybe I'm really slow.. 😛
More in the next Post! 😃
