My dear Tina,
Yes, I am afraid my analyses ARE long, but if one goes into detail, it cannot be short, can it? Plus I hope I help lengthen the attention span of you kids!😉Just think of the trouble I go to when I type all this out with a left wrist in a support (which is one reason why I send in such posts only once in a while), and compare it with the effort made to read it!😉
I did not go into the aspect of Anjali's entirely unacceptable behaviour towards Bala when he offers her that rose so as not to make the post even longer, but I am glad you made it, and I agree with you 100%. There are any number of firm but kind ways to refusing a proposal (we were all taught those when we were young). and she could have let him down gently, without hurting him or his sense of self.
Anjali is arrogant and unnecessarily nasty, and while Bala's reaction is out of all proportion to her fault (plus he does not confine his blackmailing to her, remember?), I do not agree with Arjun that she was blameless. Young girls, especially of they are pretty and popular, at times lose their heads and behave like this, without any idea of how the opposite side is affected and what the consequences can be for themselves.
I had also noted, as you have here, that Anjali's MMS was quite tame, and as she was anyway at loggerheads with her parents over Raj, what would it have mattered anyway? And she is ready to kill Bala over this!
I am very pleased that you see my point about the need for young people, especially young girls, not to cross a limit in such matters. It is not even just a tarnished reputation; it is the self-loathing that she will feel when it gets back to her that, as often happens, the boy himself boasts to his friends about his affair with her and labels her a cheap girl.
Take care, Tina.
