Everyone Has To Cross The River


Members:

1) Father
2) Mother
3) Son 1
4) Son 2
5) Daughter 1
6) Daughter 2
7) Policeman
8) Criminal

Rules:

* Not more than 2 people can be on the raft at the same time .
* The Father cannot stay with any of the daughters, without their Mother's presence
* The Mother cannot stay with any of the sons, without their Father's presence
* The thief cannot stay with any family member, if the Policeman is not there . Thief can stay alone.
* Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft
* The raft cannot move without the Father, Mother or Policeman on it.

Plzzz answer clearly and mention the way the raft should move back and forth

Hints-
1) both the similiar solutions i have comprise of 17 moves including back and forth... i.e forth is counted as 1 and back is counted as 1
2) the 2 people that go first... Come back in the middle... Go again in the middle and then come back again... And finally are the last to cross
